Sunset Beach, Tarpon Springs, Florida | Walking Tour

Walking tour around Sunset Beach. This beautiful beach is located in the city of Tarpon Springs, Florida, USA.

Sunset Beach is very popular with the local residents as it offers ample area for group picnics, swimming, and boating. Also, it has amenities like barbeque grills and shelters with picnic tables, parking lots for cars and bicycles and clean public washrooms.

Historic Fort Gates Ferry, Monday 8/12/13

We went camping at Salt Springs, Florida, and we took a ride on a nearby historic ferry across the St. John's River that has been in operation well before the 1900's. Depending on which side your on, if the ferry isn't on your side, then you stop on the dock, leave your headlights on, and the driver will have you drive your vehicle on a barge, then maneuver the barge across the river with a wood boat that dates back to 1918. The ride is ten dollars per vehicle, runs in daylight hours and does not run on Tuesdays. Enjoy!

Beautiful place to walk. Fishing ponds for catch and release. Look out for alligators. Paved walkways to the west, boardwalk to the east.

Benches in sun and shade to take a break and enjoy the wildlife. The Freedom memorial is lovely and a great place for reflection and to honor our heroes on 9/11 heroes

Favorite Place to Kayak in Florida, Canoe Country Outfitters, Sales and Rental Tampa Bay

My Favorite Place to Kayak
Mike, Weedon Island, there is a canoe and Kayak trail through the mangroves. There is a lot of history on the island. It was a prehistoric Indian settlement. I enjoy the scenery and the history.
Scotty, My favorite place is the north end of Ft. Desoto, out near Shell Island, a lot of good fishing, a lot of good bird watching.
Donna, my favorite place is Caladesi and Honeymoon Island. It is easy to get to, the fishing is great and so is the swimming.
We travel to the spring feed area's up along the northern gulf coast of Florida.
Just to name a few, Weekachee, Chassahowitzka River, Crystal River.
The Pan Handle at the Waccasassa River, the Wakulla River, Black Water Creek.
There is canoeing and kayaking all over in the state of Florida in the Southeast.

Manatee and Dolphins while Kayak Fishing Fort Island, Florida

While fishing off the boat ramp in Fort Island, Florida I was lucky enough to be blessed by the company of a friendly manatee and a pod of feeding dolphins. The fishing was slow, I only caught one Redfish and two Sea Trout. None of those catches made it to film. I paddled my kayak around to Shell Island while fishing the entire trip. The weather was nice and ended up warm at about seventy six degrees.

Rock City: I Can See Seven States, then Nashville - Traveling Robert

Great American Road Trip 2016 Part 2
On this week's video we visit a famous roadside attraction near Chattanooga, Tennessee called Rock City. Rock city is located on the Georgia side of the border, on top of the Lookout Mountain Ridge.
Rock City became a tourist attraction back in the early 1930s, at the site of a community called Fairyland, founded by one Garnet Carter and his wife Frieda. These rock formations happened to be inside the Fairyland community, and it was Frieda’s idea to develop this part of the property into a great rock garden, with all kinds of plants, trails around the rocks, and statues of gnomes and other fairytale characters imported from Germany. They claim that you can see seven states from the top of the mountain: Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama. While on a clear day you can see the Smoky Mountains, that's still the Tennessee side. I don't have hard evidence of this but I have read that Kentucky, Virginia, and South Carolina are below the horizon, so the only way you could see them is if the Earth was flat.

In Rock City we also enjoy the music of Matt Downer - Old Time Traveler, an Alabama native and Chattanooga resident. He plays the fiddle, the banjo, and the guitar, and he has dedicated his career to the preservation of traditional music. He has studied the repertoire and techniques of many of the elder Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia musicians, so he is the real deal. What a treat it is to listen to his music.

As we continue towards Nashville we run into some trouble climbing the Cumberland Plateau , also known Monteagle Mountain. The car started overheating on the long 5% grade. While technically not a mountain, Monteagle got it's popular culture name due to a Johnny Cash song describing this treacherous portion of the road.

Fantastic, Cheap, Waterfront Campground Cedar Key Florida | Wow!

As we continue to travel north up the Gulf coast of Florida we find two awesome, small, quaint towns... Homosassa and Cedar Key. We continue to be amazed at the places our Travato 59K camper van takes us. We just find a back road and take it and see where it ends up. That’s not something you can do in a bigger RV. We found the neatest country campground in Cedar Key... Shell Mound Campground. Wow! On the water with hookups for $20 per night!
