2:12 Villa Rundle Garden Triq Ninu Cremona, Victoria, Island of Gozo, Malta
Right next to the Duke Shopping Centre these delightful gardens are beautifully maintained and a lovely way to while away an hour or so. Some lovely statues and some impressive plants and trees, some of which, were planted over 100 years ago. A lot of thought has gone into the use of space and colour in this garden and the centrepiece bridge is lovely.
6:08 The Citadel Victoria, Island of Gozo, Malta
Once in Gozo, one should surely go to the Citadel. With only a few families living within the Citadel walls, and the magnificent baroque Cathedral of Gozo, the Gozitan Law Courts and the Bishop's Palace at the piazza, this place will take you back in time and helps you imagine of how live was back in the days.
There's a visitors' Centre, the Cathedral Museum, the Museum of Archaeology, the Folklore Museum, the Gozo Nature Museum, the Old Prison, the Old Gunpowder Magazine, the Grain Silos, the Battery and the World War II Shelter. So if you're into history, there's a lot to see.
Just walk in the Citadel's narrow streets, and appreciate the calmness it is surrounded by.

Spending an AMAZING DAY EXPLORING GOZO ISLAND (Trip to Gozo from Malta) | Malta Solo Travel Vlog #6
Gozo really is an amazing place to explore and visit, which is why I definitely recommend to anyone going to Malta spend at least a day exploring this amazing island. It is more traditional and less developed than Malta, but that has truly allowed it to preserve its history, cultural heritage, beauty as well as unique Maltese atmosphere. Gozo also has a lot of nature and beautiful views and scenery and it is a lot more green than Malta but offers an equal range of amazing, fun and breath-taking activities.
I truly enjoyed this amazing day trip to Gozo from Malta!

Natural History of the Maltese Islands
This book is available from bdlbooks.com
'The Natural History of the Maltese Islands as seen through a photographer's lens' takes the cause of nature conservation in Malta forward in more than one way. In its portraits of Maltese nature, it documents just how rich and vibrant our natural heritage is, making it easy to appreciate it in all its uniqueness. In its didactic and skill-building mission, this book also lays the foundation for creating wider interest in nature photography and Maltese natural heritage amongst present and future generations, serving to demonstrate the distinctiveness of nature in Malta to a wider audience.
Top 10 Travel Attractions in Malta & Gozo
Top 10 Travel Attractions in Malta & Gozo according to Lonely Planet
10. St John's Co-Cathedral
St. Johns Co-Cathedral, located in Valletta, was built by the Knights of Malta between 1573 and 1578. The Church was designed by the Maltese military architect Glormu Cassar who designed several of the more prominent buildings in Valletta. The church is considered to be one of the finest examples of high Baroque architecture in Europe and one of the world's great cathedrals.
9. Hal Saflieni Hypogeum
The Hypogeum of Paola, Malta, literally meaning underground in Greek, is a subterranean structure dating to the Saflieni phase (3000-2500 BC) in Maltese prehistory. Thought to have been originally a sanctuary, it became a necropolis in prehistoric times and the remains of more than 7,000 individuals have been found. It is the only known prehistoric underground temple in the world.
8. Vittoriosa's Backstreets
The historic Vittoriosa Waterfront contains the former Palace of the General of the Galleys and the Order of St John's treasury. The area was refurbished in the early 2000s, and both buildings are used for other activities: the former is now a casino, while the latter is home to the Malta Maritime Museum.
7. Comino
Comino is an island of the Maltese archipelago between the islands of Malta and Gozo in the Mediterranean Sea, measuring 3.5 square kilometres in area. Named after the cumin seed that once flourished in the Maltese islands, Comino is noted for its tranquility and isolation. It has a permanent population of only four residents.
6. Hagar Qim & Mnajdra Temples
Ħaġar Qim is a megalithic temple complex found on the Mediterranean island of Malta, dating from the Ġgantija phase (3600-3200 BC). The Megalithic Temples of Malta are among the most ancient religious sites on Earth, described by the World Heritage Sites committee as unique architectural masterpieces.
5. Mdina & Rabat
L'Mdina means fortified place in Arabic and was first created as such by the Romans when they separated it from the rest of the town which became Rabat and fortified it. This place was already the principal settlement of Malta however since Phoenician times and hence can claim a heritage of 3000 years.
4. Sunday Lunch in Marsaxlokk
Marsaxlokk is a picturesque fishing village on the south-east side of Malta, it has an ancient history being the site of a Roman temple dedicated to the goddess Juno, but no ancient remains are visible. It is rare as a Maltese seaside village in that it has no modern buildings such as hotels spoiling it and none of the traditional housing has as of yet been destroyed to make way for prefab rental apartments. On Sundays there is a fish market where one can get the best fish available, a particular local favourite is the Lampuki.
3. Victoria
Victoria is the capital of Gozo. Victoria is the name given in 1897 by the British government on the occasion of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, at the request of the Bishop of Malta, Mons. Sir Pietro Pace. However Gozitans still often refer to it by its old name, Rabat. The area around Victoria, situated on a hill near the centre of the island, has been settled since Neolithic times.
2. Valletta
Valletta is the capital of the island nation of Malta. A harbour city, Valletta preserves much of its 16th century architectural heritage built under the Hospitallers. Valletta was one of the earliest sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Referred to colloquially as Il-Belt (The City), it takes its name from its founder, Grandmaster Jean Parisot de la Valette.
1. Azure Window, Dwejra
The Azure Window is a Limestone natural arch on the Maltese island of Gozo. It is situated near Dwejra Bay on the Inland Sea. The formation, which was created after two limestone sea caves collapsed, is popular with scuba divers. The Azure Window is made of a Maltese limestone known as Globigerina. This is the second oldest rock found on the islands covering almost 70% of its area.

Malta National War Museum St Elmo Fort Valletta with Flora the Explorer
Hello Explorers!
In this vieo I show you an overview of the National War Museum in Valletta. I must say that I was unexpectedly surprised the War Museum!
Nick chose to visit the War Museum and I though that it would have been a very boy choice...
In reality it was a super experience! First of all because the War Museum is located in Fort St Elmo in Valletta. Visiting the fort in itself is an experience! It dominates the tip of the Sciberras peninsula. It was built by the Knights of Malta when they arrived on the island in 1530.
The aim was to defence the Grand Harbour and Marsaxmett from the Ottomans. Consider that it was built in only 6 months in a star-shaped form.
The various exhibitions inside the fort accompany the visitor through the history of Malta, from the Bronze Age, the Phoenician and then to the important role that the fort had played during the more modern history, starting from the Knights and the Ottoman invasion.
This is an engaging museum! I was fascinated by the many historical video guides that show also on maps and big screens the vicissitudes of the Great Siege during the 1565.
Then you can walk along the exhibitions dedicated to the post Siege, the French arrival to the British Empire in Malta.
The final part is dedicated to the First and Second World War and it is always touching to see personal objects that someone wore during those terrible not so far time, they make you think about the deep inconsistency of any war.
There are three historical important icons that you can see in the museum and for sure you will have heard about them when you are in Malta. The most well-known is the George Cross, a special award for gallantry gave by the King George to the Maltese, the only one that the King assigned.
The second is the Gloster Sea Gladiator N5520 Faith and the third is the Roosevelt's Jeep 'Husky'.
I highly recommend a visit to the war museum. It is really easy to find. It is located at the end of Merchand Street. 10 euros is the entrance fee and it's definitely worthy if you want to experience more about the strategic role the Malta had along the history, our European history!
