Dream Trip: Nepal | Salomon TV
Trail runners from around the world were asked: What is your #RunningDreamTrip? Tyler Courville's Dream Trip was to travel to Nepal with Mira Rai, and was subsequently selected from thousands of entries. Mira's story seems impossible; A Nepali village girl, turned child soldier, and now a globally recognised professional trail runner. Kathmandu/ The Garden of Dreams is a historical garden which is situated in the mid of Kathmandu city Thamel; Nepal. It Is very close from former Royal Palace and entrance to the tourist area Thamnel.it consists of 6,895 square meters .The Garden was very famous as the garden of Six Seasons which was constructed by Rana Family member late Field Marshal Kaiser Sumsher Rana (1892-1964) in early 1920.
After the completion of this Garden, it was considered as one of the most complicated prestigious private gardens of that time in Nepal and designed stimulated by the famous Edwardian style.
Kishore Narshingh, a legend architect who was the designer of Singha Durbar in 1907, who designed Dream Garden and supervised the construction .
Within the Garden walls, Kaiser Sumsher twisted an exquisite ensemble of pavilions, fountains, decorative garden furniture and European inspired features such as verandas, pergolas, balustrades, urns and birdhouses etc.
He erected six impressive pavilions, each dedicated to one of the six seasons of Nepal. These pavilions provided the Garden’s architectural framework and lent a cosmopolitan flavor to the formal arrangement of flowers, shrubs and trees.
Long gap of neglect ,resulting in breakup pavilions, overgrown paths and loss of the subtropical flora and many things.
with the support of Austrian Government, restorations were undertaken between from 2000 to 2007 with the support of Austrian Development Aid in collaboration with the Nepal Ministry of Education. the renovation programmed has become a model project for the sustainable development of other historic places . The garden, in its design and literary allusions, is linked to the collections of books about gardening, architecture, and literature, in Kaiser Shumsher's library.
the restoration has been completed and opened for all.
Today, only half of the original garden is in existence.

Trekking in Nepal - SIKLES Kahphuche Lake - Episode Two: Sikles
When we started this trip, Sikles wasn't in our primary focus. But from the day we got to Sikles, and our 3 days stay there, we were mesmerized by this beautiful Gurung village and people.
There were a lot of things we did in Sikles, and felt that it needs a separate video of its own. So, here it is, our take on Sikles Village.
A perfect and easy destination for anyone looking for a quick and comfy break from the chaotic daytoday life, just beneath the Annapurna Mountains.
We are very grateful to Samsung (Galaxy s10) for sponsoring this trip and everyone who supported us in this amazing journey.

Kathmandu Valley Singha Durbar & Durbar Marg II Kathmandu ,Nepal
The Kathmandu Valley (Nepali: काठमाडौं उपत्यका, Nepal Bhasa: स्वनिगः, नेपाः गाः), historically known as Nepal Valley or Nepa Valley, lies at the crossroads of ancient civilizations of the Indian subcontinent and the broader Asian continent, and has at least 130 important monuments, including several pilgrimage sites for Hindus and Buddhists. There are seven World Heritage Sites within the valley.[2]
Historically, the valley and adjoining areas made up a confederation known as the Nepal Mandala. Until the 15th century, Bhaktapur was its capital, when two other capitals, Kathmandu and Lalitpur (Patan), were established.[3]
The Kathmandu Valley is the most developed and populated place in Nepal. The majority of offices and headquarters are located in the valley, making it the economic hub of Nepal. It is popular with tourists for its unique architecture, and rich culture that includes the highest number of jatras (street festivals) in Nepal. The valley itself was referred to as Nepal Proper by British historians.
In 2015, Kathmandu Valley was hit by the April 2015 Nepal earthquake.[4] The earthquake caused thousands of deaths and destruction of many infrastructures across the Kathmandu Valley, which includes the towns of Lalitpur, Kirtipur, Madhyapur Thimi, Bhaktapur making the total population to roughly five million people and the municipalities across Kathmandu valley. Kathmandu is also the largest metropolis in the Himalayan hill region.
History
The Kathmandu Valley may have been inhabited as early as 300 BCE, since the oldest known objects in the valley date to a few hundred years BCE. The earliest known inscription is dated 185 CE. The oldest firmly dated building in the earthquake-prone valley is over 2,000 years old. Four stupas around the city of Patan that are said to have been erected by a Charumati, a purported daughter of the Maurya emperor Ashoka, in the third century BCE, attest to the ancient history present within the valley. As with the tales of the Buddha's visit, there is no evidence supporting Ashok's visit, but the stupas probably date to that century. The Licchavis, whose earliest inscriptions date to 464, were the next rulers of the valley and had close ties with the Gupta Empire of India. The Mallas ruled the Kathmandu Valley and the surrounding area from the 12th until the 18th century CE, when the Shah dynasty of the Gorkha Kingdom under Prithvi Narayan Shah conquered the valley as he created present-day Nepal. His victory in the Battle of Kirtipur was the beginning of his conquest of the valley.

Journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara - Exploring the Beauty of Nepal
This video only showcases the nature that I captured while traveling from Kathmandu to Pokhara.
So, first of all, after reaching Thamel, Kathmandu from Doha, Qatar, I visited two places
1. Swayambhunath (an ancient religious architecture atop in Kathmandu Valley)
2. Garden of Dreams (is a neo-classical garden in Kaiser Mahal Kathmandu)
Next day, my friend and I took a bus to Pokhara, which took 8-9 hours instead of 7 hours (coz of repair work of roads). After reaching Pokhara, a taxi took us to the hotel and stayed in Pokhara for 1 night. Next day early morning, we started our journey to the starting point of Annapurna Circuit or Annapurna Base Camp. It took us 1 hour to so to reach the point. We loved the beautiful scenery along the way.

Kathmandu City || Nepal
Kathmandu is the largest city and capital of Nepal and the namesake of the Kathmandu Valley.
See
Swayambhu (स्वयम्भू) aka Monkey Temple - A site on a hill overlooking the city with a large stupa and other Buddhist and Hindu iconography. One of the most sacred Buddhist sites in the country. There are 350 steps to the top - the back route is less steep but the views on the way up are not as nice. Aside from the views over the city and the ancient carvings in every available space, it's crowded with monkeys mingling with the visitors. The base of the hill is a 30 minute walk from Thamel (make sure you have a map as there are several confusing intersections along the way), or take a taxi or rickshaw. As with the Boudha Stupa, are plenty of Buddhist and Tibetan-inspired trinkets for sale. There are also drinks for sale at the top, and at least one small restaurant selling momos. For those that have their own transport or have difficulty climbing stairs there is a parking lot at the back entrance that significantly reduces the number of stairs that need to be climbed to gain access to the main compound. This is one of seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Kathmandu Valley. Foreigners: NPR750 for a multiple entry pass.
Narayanhiti Palace Museum - This is the former Royal palace which was turned partly into a Museum and partly into the Foreign Ministry after the abolition of the monarchy in 2009. Now you can visit the splendid Halls of the main building of the palace. Giant fruit bats hanging from the tall trees and 20 foot-tall bamboo around the otherwise modern (and still well secured) former palace are a sight, especially around sunset when the bats depart en masse.
Thamel Chowk - a tourist neighborhood with many restaurants and shops.
Pashupatinath - An important Hindu temple to Shiva in the form of Lord of Animals. See monkeys, cremation, sadhus and meditation caves. Morning or sunset are great times to go.
Garden of Dreams: Relax in this beautiful and peaceful walled garden close to Thamel and the former Royal Palace.
Budda Neelkanth Temple: An Idol of Bhagwan Vishnu in a sleeping position surrounded by water is an extraordinary cool and calm experience.
Kathmandu Durbar Square: This ancient square is crowded with palaces and temples, including the current incarnation of the Kasthamandap or Wooden house that gives the city its name. The square has been occupied since the construction of a palace around 1000AD. This site is the most popular UNESCO World Heritage Site in Nepal.
