On Saturday a number of Manchester United legends were in New York for an exhibition match against NY Shamrock SC, Queens.
The game titled The 2019 Robbie Walsh Memorial Exhibition Game was supporting the 2020 NY Shamrock SC Juniors Community Youth Soccer Program.
It was a thrill to get to hang out with some great names of the game in what turned out to be a brilliant day overall.

Ready for my third trip across the Atlantic of the year and funnily enough on another A330 for it. All 3 trips over the pond this year have been on an A330. This time I had the pleasure of flying from Manchester with Thomas Cook onboard 8-year old G-TCXB, which is one of the most recent A330's to join their fleet. With tickets from Manchester to New York for less than £200 I couldn't resist... And neither could lots of others evidently as the flight was more or less full. Pretty good service as usual with Thomas Cook, complimentary meal, snacks and drinks and not a bad choice of entertainment on the seat back TV's. So no complaints from me really. Once over the Atlantic some nice views over Newfoundland and directly over the top of Boston before commencing descent into New York. I like how during boarding and descent they were playing songs about New York... I don't usually like it when they play music, but at least it was relevant to our destination... so touche Thomas Cook. Taylor Swift - Welcome To New York (Secret Life Of Pets Theme Song) and of course... Alicia Keys - New York. But I had to re-edit this video and cut the music out because of copyright, but it was a nice gesture.

Shares in football club Manchester United began trading on the New York Stock Exchange. Shares debuted at $14.05 which were up from the original $14. They hope the shares, which represent 10% of the club, will make $233million and allow them to pay off their debt.

Hotel Review: Melia Innside Manchester, Manchester, England - July 2018.
I stayed at the Innside Manchester, a Melia Hotel for two nights over a weekend in July 2018. The room on a bed and breakfast basis for two people cost £214 with Booking.com, which is not cheap, however Manchester is very busy with weekend visitors, and there was also a music festival on in the city. The hotel is a new build in a very vibrant area of the city in-between Deansgate and Oxford Road station. It is exactly opposite the Haçienda Apartments, that used to be the legendary nightclub venue, the Haçienda.
The hotel was very busy during our visit, and I would not be surprised if it was near full. Upon arrival there was a short queue for check-in, but check-in was a simple process, helped by a friendly receptionist.
There are two lifts in the hotel, they're a little slow, but that's a minor point. Our room on the 10th floor (1018) was modern bright and decorated in a tasteful monotone style. There was an extremely large super-king-sized bed, two comfy chairs, coffee table, storage space, wardrobe, tea and coffee making facilities, free bottles of soft drinks, a desk chair, hairdryer and a semi open plan bathroom, where the sink is open onto the bedroom, but the toilet and shower are in separate cubicles. The weather was extremely hot outside, 28 degrees, so the air-conditioning was welcome, although it struggled to cope, as I imagine everyone had theirs on maximum cool.
The food in the restaurant was excellent, good portions and friendly staff. We ate there at tea-time on the first day and had breakfast too - which was excellent, full-English and continental options.
All in all this was a very pleasant stay in a well located, comfortable and stylish hotel. I would definitely consider staying there again in future.

Manchester to New York POV
This would be my first transatlantic flight on a narrow body, after crossing the pond many times I would get to experience my first narrow body trip. After flying in from Atlanta the day before it was time to head back to Daytona. Woke up and headed to Piccadilly Station where I would be on a 0840 direct train to Manchester airport.
The flight would be operated by N709TW owned first by TWA, leased to AA before arriving at Delta LN: 754, first flew in 1997 and is powered by 2x PW2040s. We also had a special decal for Mariano Rivera
