Lethbridge Highlights - Nicholas Sheran Park
Nicholas Sheran Park on the Westside of Lethbridge Alberta is awesome! There is room for days with over 106 acres worth of grass, fields, lake and play areas.
This is a families paradise, outdoor lovers retreat, and sports enthusiasts haven. The 'Train Park' is a fantastic playground for kids of all ages. There's an outdoor fitness station complete with a bunch of different equipment for youth and adults alike to get their exercise on.
You can also get out on the lake on a kayak or canoe, you can fish in summer and winter, and to round it all out, Nicholas Sheran Park has a whopping 7 kilometres worth of trails to walk, run, and bike on!

this is a video of nicholas sheran park in the center of west lethbridge. This was the first area of the west side of the city to be developed and is known as Varsity Village. Street names in this area are all named after famous universities and colleges (Mcgill, rutgers, loyola, princeton, harvard, etc).
As this is the oldest housing on the west side, prices are generally more affordable than other areas on some properties here. Get in touch if you want more information.

Lethbridge Neighbourhoods ~ Copperwood
COPPERWOOD sits on the outskirts of West Lethbridge and is one of the fastest growing areas in the city. Located just off the newly extended Whoop-Up Drive, it’s in a convenient location, just minutes from other parts of the city.
Copperwood residents enjoy a young and family orientated atmosphere being adjacent to the new Chinook High School and public library. Other schools in the area include: G.S. Lakie Middle School, Nicholas Sheran Community School, Father Leonard Van Tighem School, St. Patrick Fine Arts Elementary School and Mike Mountain Horse.
That’s not to say a young couple or retirees couldn’t make Copperwood home. There are many housing options to choose from that will fit your unique lifestyle and budget.
This newer subdivision is conveniently close to the University of Lethbridge, Safeway, Save-on-Foods, Shoppers Drug Mart, Home Hardware, McDonalds, Tim Hortons and the planned west side Walmart.
Leisure amenities include several parks and green spaces, both pet and kid friendly. There is an abundance of walking paths to help residents get around on bike or foot. Golfers will love Bridge Valley Golf Course or Paradise Canyon, and there is fishing in the Oldman River and Nicholas Sheran Lake. The nearby Nicholas Sheran Leisure Centre features a pool, skating rink and outdoor spray park.
The City of Lethbridge is working to establish the Crossings Ice Complex that will be popular with hockey players, figure skaters and curlers alike.

PARADISE CANYON is one of the most visually rich options in the city. Located in West Lethbridge, residents enjoy picturesque views of the rolling coulees, the sun dabbled waters of the Oldman River and a lush green golf course.
Other perks of having the Paradise Canyon Golf Resort for a neighbour include the option of easily enjoying a delicious Sunday prime rib buffet and one of the most popular Sunday brunches in the city. The Country Club also features a private swimming pool.
The architecture is equally beautiful and reflects Southern California dwellings. Paradise Canyon is a golfers dream. What golf lover wouldn’t want to live next door to Southern Alberta’s number one rated golf course?
It is important to note though, that the Paradise Canyon community is slightly more isolated than many other West Side areas. A slightly longer commute to and from work may be the trade off for living in Paradise.

2013 Alberta Open Disc Golf Tournament at Nicholas Sheran Disc Golf Course in Lethbridge, Alberta
I was in Lethbridge on August 17-18 for the 18th Annual Alberta Open Disc Golf Tournament. While I didn't win, finishing 7 out of 10 players, I did shoot the lowest round of the tournament from the blues, with a 62 in my final round on Sunday. RIVERSTONE is located in West Lethbridge, just off of University Drive, which is one of the main arteries through the Westside. This subdivision is fortunate to be located in close proximity to an abundance of green park space and the Oldman River.
Riverstone is Lethbridge’s first master-planned community. A lot of thought and preplanning went into the parks, infrastructure and architectural designs. This is especially evident at William Pierce Park, complete with its own waterfall.
As a result of the amount of planning that went into the community, River Stone requires a certain degree of architectural controls. If you have your heart set on a particular home style it is worth checking out the design and development guidelines that include exterior accent stones, a specific colour scheme mimicking the natural environment and a preference for front porches on all homes.
