Take a lazy stroll during the day and party during the night in the alleys of this historic neighborhood.
Getting There/Directions:
Tram - Number 3, 4, 6, 7, 10, Or 15 to Central station.
Walk - 5 minutes walking distance from the Main Station.
When you come to Niederdorf, you had see this place filled with bars, cafes, restaurants and antique shops, but do not overlook the historical richness of this area. During the day you can stroll in the quaint streets here, or browse some interesting antique shops, or just lazily lounge at one of the many cafes. When you are walking down the streets, you feel like you are back in the medieval world. And every now and then you might want to take a look up to notice the interesting hisorical architecture of these buildings.
This shop is called the Chas Challer which means cheese seller. Let is take a look inside. Of course cheese is our specialty, that is what we are focus on, and we are also selling good wine. This was Niederdorf during the daytime, and this is Niederdorf during the night. This area is completely transformed at night. Numerous bars, clubs and restaurants open their doors, and it is a huge party scene. I am Nadia Migdal, showing you Zurich.

Exploring ZURICH Old Town | Switzerland Arrival Day
Our first day in Switzerland!! We dropped the bags at the hotel and set out to explore the Alstadt or Old Town of Zurich, including the charming, winding streets of Niederdorf, the Grossmunster, and a panoramic view from Lindenhof. Standing by the Limmat with all the church towers striking noon was magical. Stay tuned for more!

Typically takes place in August and dates vary every year.
Most of the year, Zurich is a very peaceful and relaxed city. But once a year in August, it becomes from this, to this. Welcome to the Zurich Street Parade. Street Parade, which began 15 years ago, is a demonstration in favor of love, peace, freedom and tolerance. The main event is a 2.4 kilometer parade that makes its way around part of Lake Zurich. Floats, called love mobiles, roll down the street blaring techno music.
Hi, oh, so this is the Street Parade. You got this awesome float in the background. I am from the US I just came because, I heard about Zurich and the Street Parade, and it is just the biggest event of the year here and it is like all international, it is amazing. If you look all around, the people are just, their hair, they have like - they have all these cool costumes and it is just amazing. The energy that they have in this place is just overwhelming because everyone is yelling so much. Even after the parade is over, the party lasts all weekend. Hundreds of official and non-official parties spring up all over the city. If you are here in August I highly recommend checking out Street Parade. I am Nadia Migdal, showing you Zurich.

Along the charming lanes in the Niederdorf old town quarter and through the new Zurich West area. Down the famous Bahnhofstrasse with its chic shopping, passing Paradeplatz -- synonymous for Swiss banking -- and on to well-known places of interest such as the Fraumünster Abbey and the photogenic Grossmünster Protestant church. Then along the River Limmat promenade with its many quays, jetties and bridges.
