Khao Yai national park tours by Tontan Travel
Khao Yai national park is Thailand's best park for wildlife watching. From our extensive experience throughout the country, no other park seems to provide the consistency and diversity of wildlife sightings as we generally get to see in Khao Yai. Not to mention the stunning scenery!
We - Tontan Travel - offer wildlife tours in Khao Yai ranging from 1 to 3 days.
Depending on the tour package/ duration, these are some of the activities included in our tours:
Morning safari drives, jungle hiking, visiting waterfalls and viewpoints, afternoon safari drives, bat watching, and night safaris. The video will shortly highlight these activities.
For more information, please check our website, where you will find the variety of tour packages we have on offer:
Our local guides have many years of experience, speak English well, and are in the park on a daily basis. Their skilled eyes and ears will pick out animals that you're not likely to spot on your own. It's our fabulous team of guides that gets our guests raving about our tours. Just have a quick glance at our online guestbook to see what people have to say:

Khao Yai National Park
Thailand
Khao Yai National Park is in the western part of the Sankamphaeng Mountain Range, at the southwestern boundary of the Khorat Plateau. The highest mountain in the area of the park is 1,351 m high Khao Rom. This park lies largely in Nakhon Ratchasima Province (Khorat), but also includes parts of Saraburi, Prachinburi, and Nakhon Nayok Provinces.
The park is the third largest in Thailand. It covers an area of 300 square kilometers, including tropical seasonal forests and grasslands. Elevations mostly range from 400–1,000 m. There are 3,000 species of plants, 320 species of birds like red junglefowl and coral-billed ground cuckoo, and 66 species of mammals, including Asian black bear, Indian elephant, gaur, gibbon, Indian sambar deer, southern pig-tailed macaque, Indian muntjac, Ussuri dhole, and wild pig. There are no tigers in Khao Yai, and there haven't been any for at least twenty years. Its waterfalls include the 80 metre Heo Narok, and Heo Suwat made famous from the film The Beach.
Recent wildlife studies show that animal ranges, particularly the few resident tigers, are impacted by human activity near the center of the park. This study has not deflected the government's call for private lodging concessions within the park itself.

Wild male Elephant in Khao Yai National Park!! Safari and amazing views
After spending some nice time in Siem Reap, Cambodia it was time to go to thailand.
Instead of staying in Bangkok at the beginning like most people do; I continued my journey right away onto Khao Yai National Park (aka Pak Chong).
Then I went on safari and got to see amazing animals; The tour was done by Greenleaf Guesthouse & Tour (I stayed at a hostel next to the trainstation though).

During this New Year celebration, many people have chosen to go camping at national parks. One of the popular destinations is Khao Yai National Park, which spans over four provinces, including Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, and Sara Buri. KHAO YAI
................
Launched in 1962, Khao Yai has been Thailand's first national park. Now it's the second biggest national park in Thailand as well as in 2005, the region together with the surrounding Phaya Yen mountains has been recorded as a UNESCO World Heritage Website .
The closest town to the north entry is Pak Chong, which may be reached either through buses or train operating between Bangkok and Korat.
WHAT TO DO
......................
There are lots of cafe-type food stands throughout the park but their opening hours are in-consistent; therefore you need as much luck as you will need for seeing wildlife.
The playground center is the principal place to consume some thing usually open out of season. Opposite the visitor center there are a lot of food stands overlooking the lake offering meals for approximately 50 baht plus a restaurant where guests can purchase an assortment of Thai dishes.
There is an eating place in the Lam Tha Kong camping floor accessible from 8:00-~16:00. The adjoining bite and sundries store is available ~7:00-~17:00.

Wild Elephants Walk Along Mountain Road in Thailand
The extended family of around 25 pachyderms was seen in Nakhon Ratchasima province, northern Thailand.
Wildlife officials said it was rare to see such a large number of elephants on the road together.
It took rangers an hour to steer them back towards the jungle.
They believe that the herd had taken a wrong turn from their usual forest walk-a-about and ended up on the asphalt, with the larger adult elephants walking on the edges of the road while keeping the juveniles tucked safely in the middle during the trek.
Chief vet Pattarapon Maneeon from the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation urged motorists to be careful. He said: ''Sometimes one or two may walk onto the road. It is unusual to see a large herd like this walking together. 'Wild elephants have a very good sense of touch and vibration so drivers and especially tourists should be particularly careful. Don't leave the car when encountering wild elephants.''
Pattarapon said that park officials would now be monitoring the elephants to ensure that they are safe. He added: ''They can be dangerous to tourists when they are disturbed so it is important that they are protected. Taking pictures of the elephants should only be done from a distance.''
