Tokyo Food Tour - Eat and Drink like a local in Tokyo with Ninja Food Tours
Enjoy local food and learn culture with Ninja Food Tours. We started offering food tours in February 2017 in Tokyo and now we offer food tours in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka.
For our food tours in Tokyo, we currently offer tours in Shinjuku, Tsukiji fish market, Yanaka, and Asakusa.
The Shinjuku Tour at night is a great intro to our Japanese pub food culture while visiting the major landmarks as well as higgen gems in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
The Fish Market Tour is also popular as the Tsukiji Fish Market is the biggest fish market in the world! The current market is going to relocate to a new location in Ocotober 2018 so do not miss out when you visit Tokyo. We will introduce the market opreations and what those fish market workers eat on a daily basis. Tsukiji is not only about sushi.
In Tokyo we also offer the sake tasting classes and cooking classes in a small group.

Ninja Food Tours - Best of Izakaya Shinjuku Food Tour
Ninja Food Tours - Best of Izakaya Shinjuku Food Tour was a great way to see a lot of the Shinjuku area of Tokyo. We hopped from izakaya to izakaya to try all of the different types of foods you can experience. On top of the good food and drink, we learned about the various neighborhoods and alleys that are true hidden gems if you didn't know what to look for. There's a lot of culture and history that you would miss if you didn't have a local guide to tell you, so I highly recommend booking a food tour!

Ninja Themed Restaurant | Tokyo, Japan
Come experience the Ninja Restaurant here in Tokyo with me! It was overall a very pleasant experience for a first-timer amongst Japan’s many themed eateries. The “Ninja Training (obstacle) Course” was a unique feature that I enjoyed before being seated for dinner. The only downside was that we had to all agree on a particular course & inform them ahead of time during reservations. A small a la carte menu is available, but as far as courses there are about a dozen to choose from for every taste bud, they offer a vegetarian course, a beef-centered course, as well as a pork course, amongst others. The food was surprisingly very good & the magic tricks performed were a nice surprise. It’s a great date night idea & well-worth going to at least once & being able to say, “I went”, but probably not for recurring visits unless you have a young one with a ninja fascination. Overall, I give it 3.5 stars for food & atmosphere. As always, I hope you enjoy!

Ninja Food Tours - Namba Food Crawl in Osaka, Tokyo
Ninja Food Tours - Namba Food Crawl was hands down the best food tour that I have ever been on. Our guide was a local and really helped us experience the true food culture that exists in Japan, especially in Osaka. Not only did I get to try all of the food, but I learned a lot about the culture behind the different delicacies and treats. And to top it all off, we had a drink at every single stop. The group and guide made it a night to remember. If you visit Osaka, you should definitely book this tour!

Arigato Japan Food Tours - Shinjuku Omoide Yokocho, Kabukicho and Golden Gai Food Tour
Start your tour by walking through the busy streets of Shinjuku heading straight for Omoide Yokocho (literally “Memory Lane”) as our first stop. Omoide Yokocho is rightfully named as it is littered with rustic food stalls and bars from the 1950s. Anyone of the older generation will feel as if they stepped back in time to the middle of the 20th century. Many of these spots still stay true to their roots, serving roasted giblets with beef and pork, which was a staple when food was scarce after World War II. We will have a drink together and some skewers in one of the most charming parts of Tokyo; it will give you a very authentic feeling of Japan as you dine mostly with locals.

Arigato Japan Food Tour and Ninja Dojo! Japan Trip Episode 4 - Kyoto
I’ve been looking forward to visiting Kyoto for a long time. We finally made it and just had time to check into our hotel then meet up with Arigato Japan Food Tours for their Kyoto Casual Evening Pontocho Food Tour. Our guide Russ took us to some great spots to try some local snack, drinks and dishes. Since he’s also a musician, and we love music, he was able to talk our way into a concert to get a couple shots, pretty cool.
The next day Shawn and I went to the Ninja Dojo and Store to take their 2 hour ninja class. Our instructor showed us some ninja moves and taught us to use some ninja weapons, it was definitely a fun class and now we’re both trained ninjas.
After class we wandered around the city, found some cool market streets, Shawn got to try Saba Sushi, which he really liked, I tried Ichiran for the first time, we had some other street food, then back to the hotel to rest up for our big city car tour the following morning.

MUST EAT RAMEN IN TOKYO: Menya Shou in Shinjuku
Menya Shou has three incredible options of ramen available for ramen lovers of the world: shio (salt), shoyu (soy sauce), and tori paitan (thick chicken broth). Located north of Shinjuku station, it is only a short walk into a quiet neighboring area near Seibu Shinjuku. It’s a must-go for shio ramen lovers as it has one of the cleanest tasting broths I have ever tasted, as well as superb shoyu ramen and tori paitan tsukemen options available as well.
