Sand-bathing in Ibusuki, Japan
Strewn along the beach are people half buried in simmering sand, uniformed sentinels standing over them with shovels. Far from being macabre, Ibusuki beach is a rare natural spa with warm sands heated by the nearby volcano.

나는 가고시마 남부의 이부스키로 향했다. 가고시마의 후지산이라 불리는 가이몬다케 산 옆에는 작은 기차역이 하나 있다． 일본 열도의 최남단 역인 니시오야마 역이다. “추석과 설에 또 오고 싶어요. 오사카는 도시라서, 복잡하니까요.” ”천천히 가세요.” “예. 감사합니다.” 사람들이 이부스키를 찾는 진짜 이유는 온천 때문이다. 바닷가에 있는 온천인데, 모래로 몸을 덮고 있다. 이곳의 까만 모래는 후끈거릴 정도로 뜨겁다. 세계적으로 드문 자연현상이다. ”저 위에서 100℃의 온천수가 나와요. 온천수를 여기로 끌어와 50-60℃로 맞춰 손님들에게 덮어드립니다.” 위쪽으로 올라가보니 정말로 펄펄 끓는 온천물이 나오고 있었다. 자칫하면 델 수 있기 때문에 접근할 수는 없다． 화산의 땅 속 열원에서 뜨겁게 데워진 물이 바다로 스며들어가 모래를 데우고, 이 모래로 찜질을 하는 것이다. 화산지대인 이부스키는 일본에서도 대표적인 온천관광지로 꼽힌다. 전통 온천장에서는 일본의 코스요리인 가이세키를 맛볼 수 있다. 샛줄멸 회와 흑돼지 찜 같은 가고시마 특산요리를 먹었는데, 입과 눈이 모두 즐거웠다. 따뜻한 온천물에 몸을 담그고 여행의 피로를 잠시 잊었다．

6 Mikoshi departs Yasaka shrine for Tenmonkan at 10:30. This place is 500m away from Yasaka Shrine. One Mikoshi man put some salts on our family's leg to keep off evil spirits of traffic accidents. How kind they are!

Great Sand Art - Japanese SAMURAI warriors - at FUKIAGE Sand Festival (4 May 2015)
(Explanation of Statue)
Heike and Genji were battling over the political leadership in the 12th century in Japan.
The sand statue depicts the Ichinotani battle in 1184.
The number of Heike soldiers is much bigger than that of Genji soldiers. It seems that Heike would win the battle.
However, Genji army made an unbelievable tactics.
Genji suddenly attacked Heike army from steep cliff of the backside of Heike's headquarters.
The sudden attack was totally unexpected for Heike army, because the cliff was so steep that many people thought nobody could come down from the top of the cliff except for wild deer.
As a result, Genji won the battle of Ichinotani.
Japanese people have admired the courage of Genji soldiers during the battle until now.
