Maritime of My Life (Pt. 52) - Welcome to Nova Scotia!
July 7, 2017 - The Trans-Canada Highway has now taken me to the border of Nova Scotia! That makes province number 9!
The Trans-Canada itself does not actually connect directly with the largest city in Nova Scotia (and in all of Atlantic Canada, for that matter) - that being Halifax - so Truro marks the furthest east I will be driving on this legendary highway.

Peggy's Cove Lighthouse - Nova Scotia, Canada
Nova Scotia is home to over 160 historic lighthouses and Peggy's Point Lighthouse is probably the most well known. There were a steady flow of incoming tour buses with visitors from all over the world the day we visited.
That week we ere in Halifax and we rented a car to visit Peggy's Cove. Hope you enjoy.

Haunted Site of Old Psych Hospital
This land was the site of the Halifax County Regional Rehabilitation center, where not only the mentally ill adults and children, but the criminally insane as well, were all housed in the same facility. A horrific history abuse left it's mark on the land.

Some campgrounds in Nova Scotia throw thier campers in jail
This excellent Nova Scotia Campground just had a remarkable fun raising funds for its favorite cause, Cindy's Little Angels, by just putting their campers within jail. A mock jail that is, and people were lining up to pay to be able to send their fellow campers in the slammer for a good cause. The arresting officers received very minor grief as they drove through the actual campground gathering up their own prisoners for jail...all but one!
