Video footage of a homeless encampment in Orange County, California, has gone ultra-viral after a Facebook page operated by former law enforcement posted stunning scenes of the sanctuary state’s rapid descent into a dystopian “s***hole.”
Retired Orange County Deputy Sheriffs released the video on Facebook, where it racked up nearly five million views and 104,000 shares in little more than a day.
In the caption, the page’s administrators placed blame for the shocking breakdown of law and order on Orange County Sheriff-Coroner Sandra Hutchens and Undersheriff Don Barnes, with a tongue-in-cheek reference to controversial – yet unsubstantiated – “s***hole” comments attributed to President Donald Trump.
“Orange County is now a shit hole country thanks to Sheriff Sandra Hutchins and her co-conspirator Don Barnes,” they wrote. “Please watch 10 minutes of filth.

The video was taken by cyclists on the popular Santa Ana River Trail – a bike path that runs from Angel Stadium in Anaheim to the Pacific Ocean in Huntington Beach. In the span of just a few short years, sections of the trail have transformed from idyllic, family-friendly recreational terrain, to a dangerous causeway commandeered by vagrants, drug addicts and illegal aliens.
The slum stretches for a considerable distance, abutting upper-scale apartment complexes, multiple professional sporting venues, private businesses, and even a children’s playground. Squatters’ garbage and personal effects are strewn along and across the pathway, and derelicts in various states of undress and consciousness can be seen walking or lying about.
At least one altercation between a man and woman is captured in the clip.
In addition to the video, the Deputy Sheriffs page added photos from the trail, including a sign forbidding “camping” and “storing of public property.”
“Why is Sheriff Sandra Hutchins and Don Barnes not enforcing these misdemeanor codes?” they ask in the caption.

Fog grounded choppers at time of Bryant crash
(27 Jan 2020) FOR CLEAN VERSION SEE STORY NUMBER: apus130015, apus130024, apus130028
The helicopter carrying Kobe Bryant and eight others that crashed into a rugged hillside outside Los Angeles was flying in foggy conditions considered dangerous enough that local police agencies grounded their choppers.
The helicopter plunged into a steep hillside at about 9:45 a.m. Sunday with an impact that scattered debris over an area the size of a football field and killed all aboard. The accident unleashed an outpouring of grief from admirers around the country who mourned the sudden loss of the all-time basketball great who spent his entire 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Thousands of fans, many wearing Bryant jerseys and chanting his name, gathered outside the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles, home of the Lakers and site of Sunday's Grammy Awards where Bryant was honored.
The 41-year-old Bryant, who perished with his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, was one of the game’s most popular players and the face of the 16-time NBA champion Lakers.
The cause of the crash was unknown, but conditions at the time were such that the Los Angeles Police Department and the county sheriff's department grounded their helicopters.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner, Dr. Jonathan Lucas, said the rugged terrain complicated efforts to recover the remains. He estimated it would take at least a couple of days to complete that task before identifications can be made.
Bryant’s helicopter left Santa Ana in Orange County, south of Los Angeles, shortly after 9 a.m. and circled for a time just east of Interstate 5, near Glendale. Air traffic controllers noted poor visibility around Burbank, just to the north, and Van Nuys, to the northwest.
After holding up the helicopter for other aircraft, they cleared the Sikorsky S-76 to proceed north along Interstate 5 through Burbank before turning west to follow U.S Route 101, the Ventura Highway.
Shortly after 9:40 a.m., the helicopter turned again, toward the southeast, and climbed to more than 2000 feet (609 meters). It then descended and crashed into the hillside at about 1400 feet (426 meters), according to data from Flightradar24.
When it struck the ground, the helicopter was flying at about 160 knots (184 mph) and descending at a rate of more than 4000 feet per minute, the data showed.
The chopper went down in Calabasas, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Bryant's Mamba Sports Academy in nearby Thousand Oaks was holding a basketball tournament on Sunday.
Federal transportation safety investigators were on their way to the scene. Among other things, they will look at the pilot's history, the chopper's maintenance records and the records of its owner and operator, said NTSB board member Jennifer Homendy at a news conference.

Homeless man calls Orange County’s largest tent city home.
When I first met Joseph, he was hard at work filling up large plastic jugs with water. People gathered around a public water source just like the images you see of people in Africa gathered around a well. The big difference is this is happening right here in America.
Over 400 homeless people are living along the Santa Ana River in Anaheim, California. Orange County’s largest homeless camp is massive. Young people and old people and families and every type person you can imagine are now living in makeshift tents doing whatever they can to survive.
Mohammed Aly, a lawyer, and homeless advocate told me that the main reason this homeless camp is growing is that in 33 of the 34 cities in Orange County homelessness has been criminalized. Homeless people have nowhere else to go but the Santa Ana River trail near Angel Stadium.
Just like in Third World Countries, people that stay in Joseph's camp take turns making the daily trek to fill up jugs of water for drinking and cleaning! It's almost inconceivable this is taking place in one of the wealthiest counties in the United States.
Joseph was hurt really bad at work. He was on workers comp for many years. Joseph says he cannot qualify for SSI because he can still get around.
Joseph worked as a bank janitor while still living in the homeless camp. Joseph's backpack was stolen along with his work keys, and he lost his job.
Joseph says that not every homeless person does drugs yet the city treats everyone on the river bank as criminals. There literally is nowhere else for people to go!
After this interview, Joseph told me he goes once a week to the local church that gives everyone a bag of powdered milk, a box of instant mashed potatoes, two cans of vegetables and a pair of socks.

Santa Ana River Trail Homeless Camp Eviction Notice
It certainly does not appear that the homeless living along the Santa Ana riverbed are being forced to leave... at least not immediately. I was told by several individuals about a law suit halting the clearing of these encampments. Which is undoubtedly a real thing from what I saw. I also saw a lot of OC Sheriffs who seemed to be simply making a presence and nothing more. There is a lot of unanswered questions here, but I am sure one day the people who reside in these river side encampments will be forced to relocate... but for now they seem pretty content, despite the latest news about The Eviction.

How Kobe Bryant’s Helicopter May Have Crashed.
How Kobe Bryant’s Helicopter May Have Crashed.
Kobe Bryant's helicopter pilot was given 'special clearance to fly at or below 2,500 feet in dangerous weather conditions' - relying only on his eyesight rather than instruments before the crash
The helicopter carrying Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, left Santa Ana in Orange County shortly after 9am
Conditions were not suitable for flying, according to Los Angeles police who grounded their own choppers
Pilot was flying under visual flight rules (VFR), meaning he was relying on his ability to see terrain below him
Around 9.20am, the helicopter circled for about 15 minutes east of Interstate-5, near Glendale, data shows
Air traffic controllers held up the chopper for other aircraft for 11 minutes, before clearing it through Burbank
The pilot, who was named as Ara Zobayan, could've contacted ATC and requested to switch to instrument flight rules (IFR), which would have allowed him to navigate through the clouds
But when pilots fly under IFR, it can be time-consuming, especially in Southern California's busy airspace
Aircraft continued under VFR and around 9.40am it turned west to follow US Route 101, the Ventura Highway
Around 9.44am, the helicopter turned toward the southeast and climbed to more than 2,000 feet, in what appeared to be an attempt to put some space between helicopter and terrain
It then descended and crashed into the hillside at about 1,400 feet, according to data from Flightradar24
Bryant 41, and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, were both killed in crash along with John Altobelli, 56, his wife, Keri, and daughter, Alyssa, who played on the same basketball team as Bryant's daughter
Costa Mesa Mayor Katrina Foley tweeted that Christina Mauser, a girls basketball coach, also died in crash
The NBA legend's helicopter was only 17 miles from the Mamba Sports Academy when the crash occurred
It's unclear where pilot was going to land in Thousand Oaks, but the nearest helipad to the 100,000-square-foot facility is at Amgen headquarters which is a little over six miles away from Mamba Sports Academy

Dozens Of Protesters Gather Outside OC Supervisors Meeting Over Homeless Shelters
Orange County supervisors Tuesday could decide to abandon a controversial plan to erect large tents in Irvine, Huntington Beach and Laguna Niguel to temporarily house homeless people recently removed from the Santa Ana riverbed.
Discovery Science Center of Sant Ana California
What is Discovery Science Center?
Discovery Science Center (DSC), a 59,000-square-foot learning facility designed to spark children's natural curiosity, is Orange County's largest nonprofit educational resource. Since opening in December 1998, it has been dedicated to educating young minds, assisting teachers and increasing public understanding and appreciation of science, math and technology through interactive exhibits and programs. It is a community-wide resource where families come together to learn and have fun. The County's residents and school districts are served by this educational resource. Discovery Science Center now receives over 450,000 guests each year.
Where is Discovery Science Center?
Discovery Science Center, a non-profit organization, is located on the west side of Main Street at the Santa Ana freeway. Those traveling on the freeway will not be able to miss DSC's unique architectural feature: The Cube, a 10-story-high, 108-foot giant Cube sitting on one of its points.
What Can I Do at Discovery Science Center?
Within DSC there are approximately 120 interactive exhibits that encourage visitors to search for answers, think and explore. The center is divided into several themed areas including Perception, Dynamic Earth, Quake Zone, Science of Hockey, Space Exploration, and DinoQuest.
Are There Educational Programs?
Yes. Discovery Science Center's many education programs align with California Science Content Standards and are intended to help K-12 students perform better in school and on State science tests required in the 5th and 7th grades. For school groups, we offer a wide range of Science-to-Go and assembly programs (where we come to your school) as well as fieldtrip programs (where your school visits us).
When is Discovery Science Center Open?
Discovery Science Center is open 10am - 5pm Monday - Saturday and 11am - 5pm on Sundays. We are closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
How Did Discovery Science Center Begin?
The idea of Discovery Science Center began in the early 1980s when the boards of the Exploratory Learning Center and the Experience Center joined and formed the Discovery Museum of Orange County (DMOC). Their goal was to teach kids in a highly interactive manner what life was like in Orange County at the turn of the century. They first developed the DMOC site, which now has two historic homes, a carriage barn, rose garden, riparian habitat and much more. Once this project was completed, the Board turned to achieving their second goal: building a hands-on science center. There are more than 200 science centers in the United States, but Orange County was one of the few major metropolitan areas without a science center. In 1987, a funding feasibility study was conducted with positive results. A non-profit preview facility of DSC, Launch Pad, opened in June of 1993, in the Crystal Court mall at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. That facility closed in January 2000, and the remaining exhibits were moved to Discovery Science Center for future use.
Does Discovery Science Center Have Facilities for Private Parties?
Facility rental of Discovery Science Center is available for private corporate parties, company family days, high school proms and special events. With the fun hands-on exhibits and live demonstrations, Discovery Science Center is a unique party environment. The building can accommodate anywhere from 150 people seated banquet style to 1000 reception style. For more information on Discovery Science Center's Facility Rental Program, call 714-913-5038.
How Much Does Discovery Science Center Cost?
Regular admission is $12.95 for adults, and $9.95 for youths (ages 3-17). Discovery Science Center Members and children two and under are admitted free.
