Visit Obidos - What to See & Do in Obidos, Portugal
Visiting Lisbon & want a great day trip? Obidos is my favorite little town by Lisbon. About an hour away this walled city has great festivals, a wall you can walk around and cherry liquor served in chocolate cups called ginja. If you want tourism information on Obidos or are just looking to get out of Lisbon for a day or two, Obidos is a great place to do it.

Obidos Portugal (HD)
All of Obidos has been declared a national monument.
It is known as the Wedding Present Town because it was a gift King Dinis gave to Queen Isabel on their wedding day in 1282, but that alone is not what makes it such an extraordinarily romantic place -- Obidos view what make it one of Europe's most romantic medieval villages are its incredibly picturesque cobblestone streets lined with colorful houses filled with geraniums and bougainvillea, Gothic doorways and windows, whitewashed churches, flowerpots and dazzling tiles -- all encircled by the walls of a 12th century castle. Scaling its 13m (45ft)-high medieval walls is the best way to admire this picture postcard-perfect place.
Obidos is MAGICAL

We finally got the chance to visit Obidos, Portugal, which is just an hour drive north of Lisbon. Obidos is known to be one of the most charming medieval towns in all of Portugal, which says a lot since this country is loaded with them.
We definitely loved spending time in Obidos, but have to be honest and say that there are a lot of tourists coming here (unfortunately).
So our best suggestion to other people wanting to visit would be to find a little bed and breakfast and spend the night here. There are surprisingly many restaurants, bars and things to do in general. One thing, we know, is for sure, is that we're coming back!
NEW HERE?

We're Amalie and Joen. A Danish couple from Copenhagen who unlike most people love to travel and see new parts of the world (:-D).
This vlog is all about showing all of these places we explore. We simply can't get enough of seeing new places.
We hope you'll stick around. :-)

Óbidos - an UNESCO town in Portugal.
Please take a moment to visit with me the small town of Óbidos in central Portugal. It's a charming small town for book lovers and for history buffs, as it hosts both a medieval fair and a book fair.
Óbidos
The town of Óbidos and its castle are located on a hill and encircled by a fortified wall. It retains a picture postcard quality due to its well-preserved medieval look of its streets, squares, walls and its massive castle.

The Medieval Town of Obidos
The medieval town of Óbidos is located an easy 1-hour bus ride from Lisbon in Portugal. While many people only visit on a day trip, we encourage you to stay a few nights to experience the town without the crowds. We stayed in a private home in the heart of the old town and very much enjoyed our time exploring this medieval walled city.
