Durham UK
This video is a collage of photos that I took between May and June 2009. I've organised the photos into 3 sections, and retained the high resolution of the pictures by uploading the video in HD.
Durham is a beautiful city in Northern England. I have tried to capture the visual side of Durham with the old buildings, nature, and some of the modern but the best way to see Durham is to visit. I wasn't able to capture the birdsong as you walk along the river, or the smell of the flowers, or sunrise over the city. And of course, there are lots of people in Durham too!
The photos are of the following:

Durham is a city in northeast England, south of Newcastle upon Tyne. The River Wear loops around the Romanesque Durham Cathedral and Norman Durham Castle. North of the castle, 13th-century, medieval Crook Hall is home to gardens and a maze. South of the river, Durham University offers a Botanic Garden with woodland and tropical plants, and the Oriental Museum exhibiting Asian, Egyptian and Middle Eastern artefacts.
is a historic city and the county town of County Durham in North East England. The city lies on the River Wear, to the west of Sunderland, south of Newcastle upon Tyne and to the north of Darlington. Founded over the final resting place of St Cuthbert, its Norman cathedral became a centre of pilgrimage in medieval England. The cathedral and adjacent 11th-century castle were designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. The castle has been the home of Durham University since 1832. HM Prison Durham is also located close to the city centre.
Durham is situated 13 miles (21 km) to the south west of Sunderland and 18 miles (29 km) to the south of Newcastle. The River Wear flows north through the city, making an incised meander which encloses the centre on three sides to form Durham's peninsula.

Greenends - Alston, Cumbria
Greenends, a Cumbrian longhouse estate offers three holiday cottages in a stunning hillside setting, in the heart of the beautiful Roof of England countryside, four miles from the town of Alston.
These charming cottages are located in peaceful surroundings with stunning views over the Nent Valley, on what was once the estate of the Walton’s, the leading mining family of the area in the 1800s. These delightful Alston cottages are renovated to a high standard, individually styled to retain character and charm.
Keepers boasts a lovely sun room, perfect for a couple to enjoy the spectacular views on offer, whilst Bothy is a romantic hideaway, which has a large bedroom and bathroom, open stonework and a private patio, and Chestnut is ideal for groups of four with an open plan living area, two en-suite bedrooms and a wrap around balcony with views over the valley. The variety of accommodation across these three Alston cottages mean that up to eight people can stay in comfort. Thoughtfully positioned for privacy, each of the cottages has outdoor seating, a barbecue area and access to the adjacent gardens and fields, as well as the opportunity to walk from the doorstep onto the surrounding moorland.
The resident alpacas and other wildlife ensure that there is plenty of outdoor activity to keep an eye on and the dark skies offer fantastic star gazing opportunities. The Isaac’s Tea Trial crosses the estate, providing a wonderful 36 mile circular walk for the more adventurous walker. The owners are happy to break the trail into bite sized chunks with lifts and drop off points.
The nearby Cumbrian market town of Alston, the highest in Britain, has a selection of traditional pubs and a variety of shops, as well as local attractions including the South Tynedale Railway, Epiacum and Nenthead and Killhope mines on the doorstep. Langley old hall by drone. Co Durham. Abandoned places UK. Phantom 4 pro.
Very heavily overgrown now and not visible from the road it's a shame to see it collapsing and disappearing into the vegetation. One of the walls is leaning quite badly and supports have been installed to keep it from falling over completely.
