The Abandoned Resort in Cayman Brac: Divi Tiara Beach Resort
Switch to 1080p for better frame movement, not 720p. This video shows Divi Tiara Beach Resort in Cayman Brac. Abandoned hotels are fascinating. Abandoned resorts and abandoned hotels are some of the best spots to explore. In this video I explore an abandoned hotel, but you might want to refer to it more as an abandoned island resort. I hope you enjoy the video, and you can also check out my other video about an abandoned hotel.

Cayman Brac | Cayman Islands Sotheby's Realty | Caribbean
Cayman Brac is the second largest of the Cayman Islands and lies 89 miles to the north east of Grand Cayman, just a short half an hour or so flight away. Only 12 miles long with an average width of 1.25 miles, Cayman Brac (known simply as ‘The Brac’ to locals) is about 15 square miles in size.
‘Brac’ is actually a Gaelic word for ‘bluff’ and as such Cayman Brac is named after its spectacular bluff or cliff, rising to 140 feet above sea level at its highest, making this the greatest elevation in the three Cayman Islands. Within this rocky terrain an enticing array of caves abounds and visitors can enjoy tours with local guides and hear wonderful and mysterious tales of old along the way. Dive sites here are top quality and include a 330 foot long Russian Brigadier frigate called the MV Captain Keith Tibbetts that was scuttled in 1996 and is now teeming with aquatic life.
The Brac enjoys a slower pace of life in comparison to its big sister, Grand Cayman. Visitors come to Cayman Brac to get away from it all, to enjoy all the benefits of Caribbean island life in a natural laid-back setting. Homes are modern and there are a good many ocean front and inland plots and properties for sale. For such a small island Cayman Brac boasts a level of infrastructure that is unlike most islands of comparable size in the Caribbean, this provides a significant increase to the value of real estate in The Brac.

Cayman Island Diving - Turtles, Stingray City, Sharks, Mermaid Statue
This video was taken in September 2010 all over Grand Cayman. A lot of this footage was taken during shore dives and a few boat dives. The reefs are in great condition and there was no shortage of amazing things to see. We saw stingrays and tarpon right under the dockside restaurant at the resort we stayed at. Amazing diving on Cayman!

Grand Cayman Underwater 2013
First attempt at editing my overgrown collection of GoPro videos!
These were all filmed in Grand Cayman over my last year of working/living there. Filmed on my old GoPro Hero 2 and unfortunately before I had a pole to add some stability so some are a little shakey!
Thanks for watching!

An exhibit 'steeped' in Cayman tradition
Memories of old Cayman converged with the present on the George Town waterfront Saturday. As carnival revellers prepared for a third week of street parades, a different showing of Caymanian tradition went on display in the Cayman Islands National Museum.
Mariner, welder and collector Alvin McLaughlin unveiled the museum’s newest exhibit, ‘Steeped in Tradition’, a testament to his work to preserve island heritage.
For 32 years, McLaughlin chaired the Pirates Week East End Heritage Committee and during that time, he sought to weave Caymanian tradition and history into the celebration. Part of his work included his antiquities collection, an assortment of items that provide a glimpse into the islands’ past. Those items – from Grandpa Obediah’s swanky jar and a gas-powered clothes iron to copper kettles and silver pitchers – now make up the Alvin McLaughlin Collection housed at the museum.
