It is a Grade II listed building. The Opera House is one of the main theatres in Manchester, England. The theatre has a rectangular plan and is built of stuccoed brick with a slate roof. Its symmetrical fifteen-bay facade is in the Classical style with a five-bay centre with fluted Ionic columns. Above the three central bays is a relief of a horse-drawn chariot within a semi-circular arch. The gable has a moulded cornice on brackets. The entrance canopy is a 20th-century addition.

UK: MANCHESTER: BRITAIN'S PRINCE CHARLES MEETS THE SPICE GIRLS
English/Nat
Britain's Prince Charles met the all-girl band The Spice Girls on Friday and came away blushing.
In an introduction which would certainly breach the formal standards dictated by Royal protocol, the cheeky girls told the Prince he was sexy and kissed him on the cheek.
The prince laughed and joked his way through the encounter with the girls at the Opera House in Manchester where they were performing a charity concert for the Prince's Trust.
A crowd gathered to welcome Britain's Prince Charles as he arrived at the Opera House in Manchester.
The Prince was attending a concert to raise money for his charity The Prince's Trust.
As they queued to meet him in an official line-up, the five girls giggled nervously and discussed whether they should curtsey.
But instead they asked for an invite to dinner and planted kisses on his cheek.
UPSOUND:
Can I just ask you a question? Can we come to dinner please? (laughter from other girls, then Scary Spice kisses the Prince on cheek leaving red lipstick behind) You've got lipstick on you now.

Baby Spice asked about Charles' handsome eldest son Prince William.
UPSOUND:
I want to know where William is?
Charles: He's not here at the moment.

The Prince was answering her question when Ginger Spice took him by surprise and planted a smacker on his cheek.
UPSOUND:
You know what I think, you're very sexy.

UPSOUND:
Oh no!
SUPERCAPTION: Scary Spice
UPSOUND:
You are.

UPSOUND:
Can we have a picture with you as well? (Charles is kissed by Ginger Spice and they laugh and Prince replies I've got even more!)

UPSOUND:
Would you be honoured to have a picture with us? You're extremely sexy.

The Prince was slightly embarrassed and rather bemused when they shouted out their catchphrase: Girl Power.
UPSOUND:
(Prince) What's all this mean? (as girls Girls shout: Girl power.
No I won't do it, I'll do all the hands. (Prince holds up five hands)
Girls: You do believe in that don't you?
The Prince then thanked them for taking part in a star-studded line-up at the gala, telling them: You are extremely good to do this.

Far beneath the majesty and splendour of the Paris Opera House, hides the Phantom in a shadowy existence. Shamed by his physical appearance and feared by all, the love he holds for his beautiful protégée Christine Daaé is so strong that even her heart cannot resist.
The musical opened at Her Majesty’s Theatre on 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles, and there have been dozens of productions worldwide since then. Now in its 30th record-breaking year, The Phantom of the Opera continues to captivate audiences at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End, after more than 11,000 performances.
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s mesmerizing score along with jaw-dropping scenery and breathtaking special effects, magically combine to bring this tragic love story to life each night.

Manchester is a major city in the northwest of England with a rich industrial heritage. The Castlefield conservation area’s 18th-century canal system recalls the city’s days as a textile powerhouse, and visitors can trace this history at the interactive Museum of Science & Industry. The revitalised Salford Quays dockyards now house the Daniel Libeskind-designed Imperial War Museum North and the Lowry cultural centre.
Manchester is fringed by the Cheshire Plain to the south, the Pennines to the north and east and an arc of towns with which it forms a continuous conurbation. The local authority is Manchester City Council. The recorded history of Manchester began with the civilian settlement associated with the Roman fort of Mamucium or Mancunium
Manchester achieved city status in 1853. The Manchester Ship Canal opened in 1894, creating the Port of Manchester and linking the city to sea, 36 miles (58 km) to the west. Manchester fortunes declined after the Second World War, owing to deindustrialisation, but the IRA bombing in 1996 led to extensive investment and regeneration.
In 2014, the Globalization and World Cities Research Network ranked Manchester as a beta world city, the highest-ranked British city apart from London. Manchester is the third-most visited city in the UK. Manchester is notable for its architecture, culture, musical exports, media links, scientific and engineering output, social impact, sports clubs and transport connections. Manchester Liverpool Road railway station was the world's first inter-city passenger railway station and in the city scientists first split the atom and developed the stored-program computer.
Manchester is well known for being a city of sport. Two Premier League football clubs bear the city name – Manchester United and Manchester City. Manchester United play its home games at Old Trafford, in the neighbouring Greater Manchester borough of Trafford, the largest club football ground in the United Kingdom. Manchester City's home ground is the City of Manchester Stadium (also known as the Etihad Stadium for sponsorship purposes); its former ground, Maine Road was demolished in 2003.
