42:43 Oregon Shakespeare Festival made us nonpersons in the theater world
43:22 The responsibility of each Oregon State Legislator
Oregon Shakespeare is one of the premiere theaters in the United States. They are well-funded by the taxpayers of Oregon. Because they are publicly funded they are required to abide by major civil rights statutes.
I was excluded from a program which has a well-publicized goal of hiring more than 50 percent women and more than 50 percent writers of color.
I was one of the two most qualified people on Earth when I was mathematically excluded in September of 2015. I was excluded because I am a white male. The other white male who was excluded was even more qualified than myself.
This video thoroughly explains how I became a victim of social justice insanity.
Bay Area Backroads: Ashland, Oregon
Oregon Shakespeare Festival
I recently visited Ashland, Oregon which is famous for its Shakespeare plays. It made me think of the many ways we are actors in life hiding our real feelings.

Ashland is a city in Jackson County, in the State of Oregon. It lies along Interstate 5 approximately 16 mi (26 km) north of the California border and near the south end of the Bear Creek Valley, an arm of the Rogue Valley. As of July 1, 2013, the city's population was estimated to be 20,713.
The city is the home of Southern Oregon University (SOU) and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF). These are important to Ashland's economy, which also depends on restaurants, galleries, and retail stores that cater to playgoers and other visitors. Lithia Park along Ashland Creek, historic buildings, and a paved intercity bike trail provide additional tourist attractions.
Ashland, originally called Ashland Mills, was named after Ashland County, Ohio, the original home of founder Abel Helman, and secondarily for Ashland, Kentucky, where other founders had family connections. Ashland has a mayor-council government assisted by citizen committees. Historically, its liberal politics have differed, often sharply, with much of the rest of southwest Oregon.

The American Repertory Theater presents the Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s “Othello”
Bill Rauch ’84, artistic director of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, considers “Othello” the Bard’s most intimate tragedy, and Rauch’s decision to use a small cast heightens the emotional intensity of the production currently at the American Repertory Theater. Themes of otherness around race, gender and religion also make the play particularly relevant in this cultural moment, said the director, who staged the work in a contemporary setting. “Othello,” said Rauch, “felt like an urgent story to tell.”
Rex Rabold and Grace Zandarski, 1989
This talk was given by Rex Rabold and Grace Zandarski to a business class at the Southern Oregon State College (now Southern Oregon University). They discuss their careers, in particular Enrico IV (The Emperor), diversity and inclusion in the theatre world, and their lives. The video is quite long, but there is a wealth of information.
