May 2019 Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park Throw Down In T-Town & Mid-West Pro Mod & Radial Series!
The Throw Down in T-Town has become one of the most popular drag races in the country because it's a race put on by racers for racers.
Throw Down of 2019 will be held at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park on May 10th-11th and will feature some of the top racers in the United States competing in 10 classes.
The Throw Down in T-Town has become one of the largest races in the country, track co-owner Keith Haney said. We had over 160 race cars in May. It's a FREE event for the customer, and we had 27,000 fans in the stands for the weekend in May 2018. It's just become a huge event.
The track has a total of $60,000 available for class winners and another $5000 in contingency money up for grabs. In addition to track sponsors Osage Casino, Lucas Oil, RacingJunk.com, M&M Transmission, Dave's RV, Larry Jeffers Race Cars, Induction Solutions and several companies have joined the track as contingency sponsors.
They've all jumped on board just because how big this event has become, Haney said. We're pretty excited about its magnitude.
The fastest doorslammers in the world will be racing at the Throw Down, which will feature Mid-West Pro Mod Series WORLD FINALS. Both MWPMS & Slammer categories will feature 16 car fields...with as much as $10,000 to win! , MX275 class, *NEW 2019 Top Sportsman & Top Dragster*, 6.0 Index Class, Open Comp, Pro-Street Class, Outlaw Gasser's, Jr Pro1 & Pro2.
This is also a huge POINTS race for Mid-West Pro Mod Series, Mid-West Radial Series Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, and X275 and the best part is the POINTS are so close and these drivers will do whatever it takes to win.
Some of them drive 1,500 miles, but if for some reason they don't get in the show, they still have a chance to race, Haney said.
That's part of the draw the race has drivers and teams across the country, as Haney and co-owner Todd Martin know how to put on a show.
We will have prize giveaways for fans and Super Play rides for kids.
It's an absolute blast, Haney said. The fans interact here like no other. The interaction is amazing and totally off the wall. Most drag racers want to race in front of a big audience.

The biggest news is the Mid-West Pro-Mod Series is coming....this is one cool series because this series is governed by rules that allow Blowers, Pro Chargers, Turbos, Roots Blowers and Nitrous all run each other. PDRA Returns to Tulsa Raceway Park for Action-Packed Series Opener
PITTSBORO, N.C. (January 26, 2016): The Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) series opener promises to be a marquee stop on the 2016 tour. After a one year hiatus from the schedule, the PDRA returns to famed Tulsa Raceway Park (TRP), March 10-12 bringing professional heads up eighth mile drag racing back to Tulsa fans. The PDRA's one-of-a-kind experience goes hand in hand with TRP's mission to give their fans the best drag racing experience in the nation.
You've watched street racing on TV. Now come see what cars were meant to do on the strip!
Kicking off the opening ceremonies will be incredible side-by-side jet cars. Also taking on TRP's eighth-mile is Danny O'Day's Superwinch Wheel Stander, the world's quickest wheel stander. The Pro Mod stars of the PDRA will look to set the stage for their 2016 season as they take on TRP's eighth mile track at speeds over 220 MPH. Get the first look as champion racers Jason Scruggs, Jason Harris, Rickie Smith and Craig Sullivan unveil new rides. Come watch local heroes Frankie Taylor and Randall Reid in Pro Extreme, and Pat Stoken in Pro Nitrous. Be the first to witness the Keith Haney and Jay Cox rivalry play out in 660 feet as they put their fast talking to the test on the track.
The bad boys of Pro Extreme, the fire breathing Pro Nitrous machines, the side by side thrill of Pro Boost, and the wild rides of Pro Extreme Motorcycle will excite fans with ground-shaking horsepower and mind-blowing performance. The semi-pro classes of Top Sportsman and Top Dragster will also be on show for the weekend, as well as the young guns of Pro and Top Junior Dragster. New this year, the PDRA offers a Bracket Bash to local competitors. There's $3000 on the line for all competitors running 4.99 or quicker in this event.
There's nothing like the first event of the season, stated reigning Pro Extreme Champion Jason Scruggs. We're anxious to get our new cars to the track and show off the hard work we've all put in over the off season. Last year, records were set at the first event of the season that are still standing this year. We're ready to make 'em fall again!
At TRP, it's a true fan-based weekend with something for all ages including a Kids Zone featuring rock climbing, bounce houses, and much more.
The PDRA is a proud partner of Hot Rodders of Tomorrow, a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring the next generation of auto enthusiasts. In the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge, high school teams compete against each other in performance engine rebuilds. Teams from Tulsa Tech and Jacksonville High School (Arkansas) will do live demonstrations of these rebuilds, often completed in less than 35 minutes. The Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge is one of the only programs out there working to inspire and prepare the next generation of auto enthusiasts, stated Automotive Technology Instructor, Wayne Griffin. It's not just athletes and academic standouts who win scholarships. This program provides secondary education scholarships to students, making their dream of work in the performance industry a real possibility.
Military who present their ID will get in free to all nine PDRA events in 2016. In recognition of their service the Tulsa Air National Guard is invited as special guests of the PDRA at the series opener. The PDRA is committed to giving back and expressing appreciation to servicemen and women.
Open testing held on Thursday, March 10. Qualifying begins Friday. One final qualifying session will be held Saturday morning with eliminations to follow.

PDRA Summer Drags is a Can't Miss Event
In just under a month the world's biggest names in Pro Modified racing will descend upon Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park for the PDRA Summer Drags. The PDRA has not visited the famed raceway since 2016. The long-awaited return of the series will bring action not seen anywhere in surrounding states.
Five professional categories, two semi-pro categories, and two junior dragster categories will all be slaying the Tulsa eighth-mile, looking for the wins, records and bragging rights. Not only will they top speeds over 220 miles per hour in just 660 feet, the kings and queens of the PDRA will do so under the lights. When the day cools off is when the Pro Mods will turn up the heat.
The event begins on Thursday, August 10th with open testing. Admission is just $5 for the full day of testing. Sportsman qualifying begins on Friday at 12:30 with Professional qualifying at 3 and 8pm. Final qualifying will be contested Saturday at 11am (Sportsman) and 1pm (Professional). Eliminations begin at 4pm with Sportsman. Pros will race into the night with eliminations beginning at 6pm. Friday and Saturday tickets are $15 each. Kids 10 and under are free. Every ticket is a pit pass, giving each attendee direct access to the stars of the show. The biggest names in Pro Mod racing will be on hand, including local standouts such as Frankie Taylor, Todd Martin and Keith Haney.
Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park is all about the fans and has something for folks of all interests and ages. The Fun Play kids center, for example, will be set up to give kids a place to burn off extra energy. TRP's vendor row features food trucks, manufacturers, and various vendors. The overall fan-centric experience of TRP is what keeps people coming back. This is the PDRA's only stop within hundreds of miles. Don't miss this opportunity to see the bad boys (and girls!) of the 660.

Tulsa is a city on the Arkansas River, in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. It’s known for its art deco architecture, mostly in the central Deco District. Landmarks like the Philcade and Philtower buildings reflect a 20th-century construction boom fueled by the prosperous local oil industry. The Philbrook Museum of Art is housed in an Italianate villa that was once the home of a local oil magnate.
Tulsa lies in northeastern Oklahoma, within the state's Green Country, and at the convergence of the Great Plains and the Ozark Plateau. The wide and shallow Arkansas River runs through the metro, and numerous lakes, reservoirs, smaller rivers, and wooded hills enliven the landscape.
Winters are cool to mild. Being exposed to plains winds, arctic freezing is not unknown, but it does not last long. There is not much snow, just a few inches each year, typically, but ice storms are more of a concern. The months April through June are stormy, and, Tulsa being in Tornado Alley, twisters will make an appearance - though they tend to appear in the flatter countryside. Summers are hot. It will often be above 90 degrees from May through September. Fall is the best time of year: mild temperatures, a nice breeze (all of Oklahoma is breezy), and changing tree colors. Tulsa has over 225 days of sunshine annually. In all, the city receives an average of 40 inches of precipitation each year, which helps keep Tulsa and Green Country green.
There are more nearly a million people in the metro area. Tulsa is often paired with its neighbor Broken Arrow, itself the fourth largest city in the state, though Tulsa is clearly the big brother. Here you will find a combination of western, Midwestern, and southern charm, along with a cosmopolitan atmosphere. The people love their city and are welcoming and eager to help you find your way. You may notice that Tulsa has one of the largest concentrations of Art Deco design in the country, and other mid-century architecture, a result of having been a boom-town from the 1920s through 1950s. Oil was what made Tulsa. Wealthy barons such as Frank Phillips built stately mansions for themselves but also beautified the city along the way.
As a result the city has a skyline that, until recently, bested Oklahoma City's. Tulsa likes to think of itself as the cultural capital of the state, boasting notable museums, universities, restaurants, festivals, quirky neighborhoods, and especially music - particularly country and blues musicians. Stars from Roy Clark to Leon Russell to Garth Brooks all made their start here.
