Eagle Scout Project at Papago Park
Garrett's Eagle project at Papago Park Phoenix Arizona. It turned out better than we expected!! Garrett did a GREAT JOB planning and implementing. He repaired the main trail and then created a new spur trail from the main ramada to the trail now called the Garrett Spur Trail. He also raised enough money to buy 6 trees and the City of Phoenix donated 3 trees to re-vegetate areas around the trail. He clearly earned his Eagle on this job.

Phoenix bike path loop
An awesome 22-mile loop on some of the best bike paths that Phoenix, Tempe, and Scottsdale have to offer. This loop connects a bunch of bike-dedicated paths at Papago Park, Tempe Town Lake, the Indian Bend Greenbelt and the Arizona Canal Path, with a minimum of road biking and a lot of great scenery.
The loop can be viewed here:

The best of Phoenix and Sedona in Thanksgiving
Travel video vlog about our 4 days trip to Phoenix and Sedona in November 2018 (during Thanksgiving)
Phoenix is the Capital and the most populous city of the U.S. state of Arizona.
We stayed in Scottsdale which is 25 minutes drive from Phoenix, and drove to Phoenix and Sedona for our day trips during our stay.
Day 1 - 22 November (Papago Park)
Due to Thanksgiving, most tourist attractions in Phoenix were closed. The Papago Park was one of the few attractions which were open that day, so we took the afternoon to explore the area and the hiking trails and then headed to town for a Thanksgiving dinner in the evening.
Day 2. 23 November (Desert Botanical Garden)
We visited the desert botanical garden on this day and decided to stay until dark to watch the electric desert exhibit.
Home to thousands of species of cactus, trees and flowers from all around the world spread across 55 acres, the Desert Botanical Garden was the highlight of our trip to Phoenix. Its an absolutely amazing place to explore the large variety of desert plants from around the world, to take photographs, and to enjoy the beautiful landscapes from the park. After sunset, The electric desert experience starts, which is a light and sound display against the backdrop of the mountain and plant species of the garden, an absolutely must see if experience.
Day 3 - 24 November (Sedona)
We departed Scottsdale in the morning and left for a road trip to Sedona, a 2:30 hours drive trip. I have to admit that I did not know much about Sedona and I did not have high expectations for this trip, but I was wrong, Sedona absolutely blew me away.
Sedona is an Arizona desert town near Flagstaff that’s surrounded by red-rock buttes, steep canyon walls and pine forests. The landscape of the red rocks is absolutely mind blowing, The sweeping, red washed desert of Sedona somehow resembles Mars and it is totally different than anything I have ever seen. I can honestly say that Sedona is the most beautiful place I have seen in the United States to this date, I just wish I had more than one day to explore the area. I guess I will have to go back for another visit soon.
Day 4 - 25 November
On our last day, we went for a short hike on the Camelback mountain in Phoenix, Arizona. This is probably one of the most scenic hiking spots in Phoenix as it offers panoramic views of the city.

2016 Girls Golf Day - Papago Park - Phoenix, AZ
The AWGA was a proud sponsor of Phoenix' Girls Golf Day on Saturday, September 3rd, and as you can see from this video it was a beautiful day to be out at Papago Golf Course!
This year's event featured a meet-and-greet with Hannah O’Sullivan, as well as a golf clinic, tournament, golf expo, food, and tons of family fun. It was wonderful to see so many young girls take part, and in fact the tournament drew its biggest field ever, with 85 girls ages 3-17 participating!
Thanks to everyone who attended and visited the AWGA booth. And a big shout out to Girls Golf of Phoenix and the First Tee for putting together another successful event for both girls who already play and those who picked up a club for the first time Saturday.
