New Delhi British architecture icons: India Gate, South and North Block, Parliament building
Compilation of British architecture icons of New Delhi which is popularly known as Lutyens' Delhi.
Lutyens led a group of architects in laying out the central administrative area of the city, with the charge of retaining one-third of the area as green space.[citation needed] At the heart of the city was the impressive Rashtrapati Bhawan, formerly known as Viceroy's House, located on the top of Raisina Hill. The Rajpath, also known as King's Way, connects India Gate to Rashtrapati Bhawan, while Janpath, which crosses it at a right angle, connects South End Road (renamed as Rajesh Pilot Marg) with Connaught Place. Currently, Pranab Mukherjee is the President of India, and stays in the official house of Rashtrapati Bhawan.
The Secretariat Building, which house various ministries of the Government of India including the Prime Minister's Office, is beside the Rashtrapati Bhawan and was designed by Herbert Baker. Also designed by Baker was the Parliament House, located on the Sansad Marg, running parallel with the Rajpath. Two magnificent cathedrals in the area, the Anglican Cathedral Church of the Redemption and Catholic Sacred Heart Cathedral were designed by Henry Medd.

Amit Shah In Parliament On Citizenship (Amendment) Bill: Muslims Needn't Worry
Home Minister Amit Shah, tabling the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, said Muslims of the country need not fear, they are and will remain citizens of the country. There are attempts to spread misinformation that this bill is against Muslims. Let me put it on record that it is not. This bill is only for minority communities of neighbouring countries. It has nothing to do with Muslims in India, Amit Shah said.

Muslims in India Protest Citizenship Law
▶️ Hundreds of people from various Muslim organizations protested Friday, December 13, in central New Delhi against the new citizenship act, which was passed by the Indian Parliament this week.
???? The bill will make six religious groups -- Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Jains, Parsis and Buddhists -- who came to India from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan before December 31, 2014, eligible for Indian citizenship. The government says it is intended to give sanctuary to minorities who fled religious persecution in these countries.
Critics say the Citizenship Amendment Bill, which passed the upper house of Parliament Wednesday, would lead to a flood of immigrants into Assam and other northeast states, and would marginalize India's minority Muslims, which they claim is a goal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Hindu nationalist government.
Two people have been killed in the ongoing protests.
