???????? Phonsavan, Laos - Amazing Travel Video (HD)
Most heavily bombed place ever, with some random stone jars in Laos:
Phonsavan (Lao: ໂພນສະຫວັນ) (population 37,507)[1] is the new capital of Xieng Khouang Province, Laos. The name stands for hills of paradise.
Phonsavan is the provincial capital of Xieng Khouang province. The countryside is soon dominated by green hills and pine forests. Villages consist of colourful wooden houses. Cattle raising is one of the main agricultural activities and Hmong cowboys with brown and violet cowboy hats are a common sight. During Hmong New Year there are even bullfights in the city. Phonsavan was built in the late 1970s and replaced the old Xieng Khoung (today: Muang Khoun) which had been destroyed during the Second Indochina War. Phonsavan's most famous attraction is the nearby Plain of Jars, which has been nominated for UNESCO World Heritage status.[2] The main economic activity in Phonsavan is based on government administration, mining companies from China and Australia, tourism and the work of NGOs related to UXO clearance.

VietCamLao Chapter 9 - Laos: Phonsavan Area
Our exploration of Phonsavan area didn’t finish with just visiting Plains of Jars. Before moving towards Luang Prabang we decided to get lost in the surrounding mountains and we should admit that it was a great idea.
Our first stop was at a small Buddhist temple where we even had a chance to talk with monks about their everyday life. While driving in the rural areas up north from Phonsavan we had to do a lot of stops because sceneries were just stunning (as you will be able to see from the footage). On the way magic happened again: from fog and dribbling rain suddenly the sun appeared! This weather phenomenons were following us around Laos.
By the end of the day we ended up at the Buddha cave (probably there are hundreds caves with this name in Laos). This cave was really hard to find because there were no marks or any direction indicators on the way. We spent at least one hour driving back and forth around Muang Souy village while looking for it. No doubts that it’s very local and pristine cave if it’s so hard to find. We added it to Google Maps so it should help next travellers to find it.
After overnight stop in Phou Khoun we moved towards Luang Prabang, for some reason Phou Khoun felt under strong Chinese influence (stores, hotels, restaurants were all Chinese). Lucky again: another market on our way. It’s alway nice to submerge into local environment with all local communities gathering together. On our shopping list we had mandarins and some breakfast; and we ticked both.
Last stretch of the road and we are in Luang Prabang!

CRAZY LAOS BUS RIDE ADVENTURE - Phonsavan to Pakse Laos
I take a 20 hour bus ride from Phonsavan to Pakse in Laos, this is one eventful bus ride i won't forget, it was funny in a way yet astounding, from broken bus seats to veges and rice stored in the center isle, to old Laos men smoking Opium out the window, to driving in potholes to getting stuck in land slide mud and getting pulled out by a digger to the bus eventually breaking down and the passengers pushing it to start it. I didn't vlog it all but got some key parts, if you want a real bus ride then you gotta try a Laos bus! it's an adventure ride you won't forget!!.
