Kathmandu, Nepal | Travel Photography & Making Money
So, I have arrived in Kathmandu and once again I can't stop saying So! So, I really need to work on that but in the mean time I take a stroll through town central. Struggling with composition, due to the debris which followed the recent earthquake, I reside to some street photography.
Followed by a venture up the the hill to Swayambhunath temple and back to the editing suite (aka my hostel). Where it's time to start talking finance and how to make money from travel photography.

Urban B Roll Challenge Kathmandu Nepal
The Nepal Series has begun!! In this first video we explore the city of Kathmandu & I dive into my thought process behind Urban B-Roll.
The initial things I try to capture are, diversity, tradition, city vibe, colour, food, the iconic, etc. An urban environment often offers overwhelming opportunities to capture it's culture and feel. Kathmandu is no different if not even more overwhelming with it's sense of organised chaos. For any of you who have been to India or here in Nepal, you know what I'm talking about.
This is the beginning of our Nepal Adventures and it is looking awesome, so stay tuned for some great content highlighting the Annapurna Circuit coming up next Sunday same time (15:00 GMT) same place :) then again next Wednesday and so on. You've got it. I know who you are. Ha.

Reportage Photography Workshops, Kathmandu Sept. 2017. [5, V, Five] Photographs.
[V.] Photographs
Once they were back in their respective countries; participants who attended Reportage Photography's Kathmandu Sept. 2017 Workshop were asked to select [5, V, Five] photographs (from their entire edit) that resonated with themselves. Given the subjective nature of photography, it isn't an easy task to distill much larger edits down to a mere [5, V, Five] photographs. The idea? The second most important phase of photography is being able to reflect and critically edit your authored work. Something most photographers find incredibly challenging and difficult to do. Of course, Stephen and I instructed them all on editing during our workshop but this was all about them doing it for - themselves. In the multimedia here are [5, V, Five] Photographs that each participant felt a visceral connection with. The work is fluid, aesthetically evolved and compelling. They edited well! Magnifique guys!
