Kyoto - Ryoanji

The Ryoan-temple, visited on the 18th August 2011 in Kyoto, including the probably most famous Zen-garden. Too bad, that there has been a large announcement a few minutes after our arrival, so we didn't had much chance to enjoy the meditative quiet.
Hope you enjoy it.

Kyoto Vlog - Kiyomizudera and Fushimi Inari
Hello, muggles!
This is my day 1 Kyoto vlog visiting Kiyomizudera and Fushimi Inari with my three friends. I documented our journey from Tokyo and our hotel stay. I actually developed a cold during this video so sorry my voice is so husky...
I also kept messing up small details because I was sleepy.
This was a fantastic girly adventure and I especially loved the food in Kyoto!
Next I will upload day 2 featuring our Oiran photoshoot!
Find me on Instagram at capsulebunny.
My three friends were - ningyosekai, yume.chii and 1naworldofmyown.

On Jan. 4, a Shinto ball-kicking ceremony called kemari hajime is held at Shimogamo Shrine in Kyoto, Japan. A team of eight people in formal robes kick around a deerskin ball and try to keep it in the air as long as possible. I saw it on Jan. 4, 2010. Photos:

Asakusa Sanja Boat Procession 2012 浅草三社祭斎行700年祭 舟渡御
To mark the 700th anniversary of Asakusa Sanja Matsuri Festival in 2012, a boat procession was held on Sumida River on March 18, 2012. The last time they did this was in 1958. The three portable shrines were first carried from Asakusa Shrine to neighboring Sensoji temple on March 17 where it stayed overnight. On the 18th, they were carried outside and a procession around Asakusa was held. The procession included Asakusa geisha and White Heron Dancers. They reached the pier on Sumida River at 12:30 pm and boarded the boats. They cruised all the way to Ryogoku and back. The boat procession was the original way they held the Sanja Matsuri. Photos:
