พระธาตุบังพวน เป็นพระธาตุซึ่งบรรจุพระบรมสารีริกธาตุขององค์สมเด็จพระสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า 29 พระองค์ (The Bang Phuan Great Pagoda, contained the relics of the Lord Buddha.)

Here I take a look around one of North-East Thailand's most sacred sites -
Wat Phra That Bang Phuan.
The site dates from between the 1st and 3rd century A.D.
In the confines of the grounds is a beautiful and ancient Indian-style Chedi (Stupa) containing, so legend has it, one of the sacred bones of the Lord Buddha.
In 1559 the original chedi was replaced with a taller Lao-style one, built as a demonstration of faith by King Jayachettha of Chantaburi (Vientiane, in Laos) as he spread his lands south across the Mekong River. For many years the monument had leaned to one side because of subsidence and finally collapsed in 1970. Restoration of the Chedi by the Fine Arts Department was completed in 1977.
Surrounding the Chedi are several brick built chedi, with no adornement, giving the whole ensemble an ancient atmosphere. This is a peaceful place, the only sounds being those made by the crickets and birds. The air is lightly scented with incense and the well maintained gardens contain many trees, shrubs and lawns. The site is also home to the Sa Phraya Naga (pond of the Naga Serpent) from which water was taken to bath newly appointed city lords as a blessing. Today the pond is a mass of Lotus lilies.

Wat Phra That Bang Phuan (วัดพระธาตุบังพวน) is a monastery with the old Phrathat Bang Phuan Pagoda (พระธาตุบังพวน), in Amphoe Mueang Nong Khai (อำเภอเมืองหนองคาย) and is nearby to Ban Thung Sawang (บ้านทุ่งสว่าง), Ban Khok Kham (บ้านโคกคำ) and Ban That. Wat Phra That Bang Phuan is also close to Phrathat Bang Phuan.
Boasting a beautiful chedi that locals believe holds 29 Buddha relics, Wat Phra That Bang Phuan is one of the region's most sacred temples. Nobody knows when the first stupa was erected here, but after moving his capital from Luang Prabang to Vientiane in 1560, Lan Xang King Setthathirat commissioned grand temples to be built all around his kingdom, including a new stupa built here over an older one.
Rain caused it to lean precariously and in 1970 it toppled. It was rebuilt in 1977. The current one stands 34m high on a 17-sq-metre base and has many unsurfaced chedi around it, as well as a naga pond, giving the temple an ancient atmosphere, and it's this, much more than the main stupa, that makes a trip here rewarding.

Chiang Mai chỉ lạnh vào cuối năm, chứ mùa hè nắng nóng dữ lắm nha mọi người!
Hôm nay Khoai sẽ dẫn mọi người tham quan những ngôi làng của người Mông gần Chiang Mai, nằm ẩn trên ngọn nói Doi SuThep. Trên đây có đến 2 ngôi làng, một ngôi làng ở lưng chừng núi dành cho du lịch, và một ngôi làng trên đỉnh núi vẫn còn khá hoang sơ. Khi tham quan cung điện mùa hè hay chùa Wat Phrathat, mọi người nếu có thời gian thì nhớ chạy lên đây tham quan nha. Khoai thích ngôi làng trên đỉnh núi hơn vì nó dễ thương, và ít bị du lịch hóa. Đặc sản trên đây cũng không quá nhiều, mùa lạnh thì có dâu tây, cây đèn lồng, Khoai lang ăn sống (ở Việt Nam mình hiếm thấy hơn, gọi là khoai sâm, nhiều ở Lào Cai, Yên Bái, nhìn như khoai lang nhưng ăn y chang củ sắn, củ đậu lai mía).
Địa chỉ quán Khoai ăn và uống cà phê trong clip: RWR2+FQ Don Kaeo, Mae Rim, Chiềng Mai, Thái Lan. (cạnh nhà có vườn rau và vườn dâu, nhưng cũng tùy mùa mà cô trồng loại cây khác nhau)
Nếu đến đây mọi người chú ý giờ giấc, hoặc là ở lại qua đêm, không thì phải về trước 4 giờ chiều, vì đường rừng khá vắng và trời sẽ tối rất nhanh. Dọc đường đi có rất nhiều điểm để ngắm hoàng hôn lẫn bình minh, cuối clip Khoai ngắm hoàng hôn ở tọa độ (RV8Q+JM) đẹp muốn xỉu luôn
