Piazza Tasso is a central place and square in Sorrento in the south of Italy. The square is named after the poet Torquato Tasso.
In the main square, well known as Largo of the Caste, is the Baroque Church del Carmine, within its interior a painting by Onofrio Avellino. On the square stands a statue of S. Antonino Abbate. From the square you come onto the shopping street Via San Cesareo. Also near Piazza Tasso is the Palazzo Correale now also a museum, Museum Correale.
Piazza Tasso is the very focal point of Sorrento. Somewhat of a controlled “busy” area. Lots of shoppers and sidewalk cafe goers. People watch here and enjoy a cafe or vino. From this hub you can easily meander the spokes to find great shopping places.
Piazza Tasso is a hive of restaurants, traffic and people. Good thing about this Piazza is that cars are prevented from entering at night. Great place to sit and enjoy all that's going on around you.

Sorrento, also known as the Gateway to the Amalfi Coast, sits high up on the mountainous Sorrentine peninsula and looks out over the Bay of Naples. Take a walk through its ancient streets, past boutiques, and limoncello stands and then down to the old fishing quarter, Marina Grande. From there you'll see amazing views out over the bay as you walk down the cliff face to the beach clubs below. There you will see Marina Piccola, Sorrento's main port where you can catch a ferry to the surrounding islands including Capri, Ischia and Procida. Finally you'll walk up a winding road and end up looking out over old ruins in the Valley of the Mills.

Sorrento - Il giardino del Golfo di Napoli
Sorrento (Napoli) è una cittadina costiera della Penisola sorrentina che si trova di fronte alla baia di Napoli, nella parte sud-occidentale dell'Italia. Edificata sulla scogliera che la separa dal suo affollato porticciolo, Sorrento è famosa per il panorama sul mare e piazza Tasso, costellata di caffè. Il centro storico è un dedalo di stradine dove trova spazio la chiesa di San Francesco, un edificio del XIV secolo con un chiostro tranquillo.
Il porto è comodo per escursioni in barca verso le isole del Golfo, alla scoperta di Capri, Ischia e Procida e della Costiera Amalfitana.

Sorrento is known for being home to Italy's more affluent residents and holiday makers, however with great hotels, restaurants and AMAZING ITALIAN FOOD in Sorrento, there's really no excuse to visit!
