Take a glimpse into the Plain Of Jars in Phonsavan, Xieng Khouang Province, Laos.
There are 3 main tourist sites, this is site #3.
These massive stone jars date back to around 500BC - 200AD
There are 3 main stories/beliefs of these jars are...
1) Used to cremate bodies
2) Used to store lau lau (rice wine)
3) Used to store water

We specialise in arranging tours for tourists to explore this famous Plain of Jars site located in Phonsavan, Laos. This place has been a mystery not only for hikers but to archeologists and scientists around the world ever since its discovery in the 1930s. It has also been nominated for UNESCO World Heritage status and often referred to as a south-east Asian version of Stonehenge. In our tour, tourist will witness thousands of giant stone jars scattered around the Xieng Khouang plain in Laos that form one of the most bizarre archaeological collections ever recorded in history. These jars appear in clusters and range from a single jar to several hundred on the lower foothills surrounding the central plain and upland valleys. With beautiful surrounding landscapes blending this historical find, it will make any trip to Phonsavan a memorable experience while hiking the famous Site 1, 2 and 3 of the Plain of Jars area.

-Pick up from Xieng Khuang Airport or Bus Station at Phonsavan

We had two very tough days in Phonsavan, after someone entered in our room and stole the money from our backpack. We tried asking help for the owner and the tourist police, but that (as you see on the video) was their action to solve the problem. In the end, they almost arrested us for trying to ask for a resolution and for recording the conversation.
We are fine now and keeping up with our trip, just changed a bit the places and timing.

Today we visited the Plain of Jars in Phonsavan in North Central Laos. The Jars were interesting but we learned about a dark and shocking history that Laos faced during the Vietnam war.
