The latest video from the Macedonia Timeless series, dedicated to the town of Ohrid and aimed at the promotion of tourism, was presented yesterday.The video, scripted and directed by Dusan Drakalski, will start to be aired on CNN today, the Vecher newspaper reported.
Titled Ohrid City of Light, the promotional spot features several locations, including the monasteries of Plaosnik, St. Naum, the village of Trpejca, the church of St. Bogorodica Perivlepta, the Old Bazaar and the Robevci House, as well as the participation of prominent Macedonians, such as singer Karolina Gočeva, writer Meto Jovanovski and actress Nikolina Kujaca.
The video was made and will be broadcast in two versions with music by the band Foltin or by composer Duke Boyadzhiev.
The story about the impressive city with history, the Balkan cradle of art, religion and culture, the city of pearls and good cuisine, is told through visual game of shadows and light, representatives of the New Moment agency, which won the bid to make the video, told the Vecher newspaper.
Intended to promote Ohrid abroad, the video shows the past as well as the modern face of the town as a modern tourist centre offering entertainment to potential foreign tourists, the agency added.
The spot tried to describe one day in the city, and in this way to tell a story about it, Drakalsi explained.
The videos budget of 80,000 euro, the publication added, was relatively small for such a project. The spot was filmed in five days with a team of 60 people.
This is the fifth spot of the Macedonia Timeless series. The first three directed by Milcho Manchevski, Igor Ivanov Izy and Gorche Stavrevski, presented Macedonia as a whole, while the fourth also directed by Manchevski, was dedicated to sacral tourism in the country.

Dedalus landed on Plaosnik 24 centuries ago - A bronze figure of Dedalus, father of Icarus, 20 cm tall, dating from the 3rd and 2nd centuries B.C. was revealed by archaeologists at site Plaosnik over Ohrid. This is the only such artifact in the country and probably in the world, says archaeologist Pasko Kuzman.

Plaošnik or simply Plaoš is an archaeological site and holy place in Ohrid, 250 meters below Samuil's Fortress. In the future, the whole complex will have konaks as in the time of Saint Clement of Ohrid, together with several surrounding objects

Legends states that when St. Clement (Sv. Kliment) arrived in Ohrid 893 A.D., by order of King Boris I of Bulgaria, Clement built a larger church on top of the foundation of an early Christian basilica and dedicated it to St. Panteleimon (1). Legend also states that St. Clement prepared his own grave inside the monastery and upon his death his disciples buried him there. After his canonization, this Church and Monastery also became known as St. Clement.
The monastery served as a school, sometimes referred to as a university or academy, but mainly known as the Ohrid Literary School, where St. Clement initially taught the Glagolitic alphabet in order to further spread the word of Christianity. The creation of Glagolithic, the oldest Slavic alphabet, is commonly attributed to two monks, brothers from Thessaloniki, named Cyril and Methodious (Kiril i Metodij). Soon they would develop the Cyrillic alphabet and this would become the language of choice for teaching and for transcribing by both St. Clement and St. Naum in their schools
During the Ottoman Empire, the monastery underwent different reconstructions and was turned into a mosque. Reconstruction of St. Panteleimon as it stands today began in December 2000 and was completed in August 2002
