Who does not have a souvenir , an image , a place that comes back, when we close our eyes and that we hear the sound of bathers in the sea (and people on their towels too) it makes think immediately to the vacation in the shade of the parasol , a coconut tree or a palm tree to do no anything of course , just take advantage of the time that passes and savor every second that escapes.

Spain: Salou | Beaches & Seafront
The beaches of Salou, surrounding the main resort area.
In today's video, the travel turtles visit the beaches and seafront of Salou, this includes: Llevant Beach, Capellans Beach, Llenguadets Cove, Llarga Beach, Salou Harbour and Ponent Beach. We also visit the Salou sign and the seafront behind Llevant Beach.
Salou is a popular holiday resort in the Tarragona province of northeast Costa Daurada. This was historically used as a port by the Greeks and Romans and is the perfect place to stay if you wish to visit local areas in Catalonia. We recommend visiting Taragonna Old Town, Barcelona, Montserrat (Mountain) and Girona.

Costa Brava 2017 We go from Barcelona to Blanes
The #Costa #Brava Wild or Rough Coast is a coastal region of Catalonia in northeastern Spain, consisting of the comarques (counties) of Alt Empordà, Baix Empordà and Selva in the province of Girona. Costa Brava stretches from the town of Blanes, 60 km (37 mi) northeast of Barcelona, to the French border. In the 1950s, the Costa Brava was identified by the Spanish government and local entrepreneurs as being suitable for substantial development as a holiday destination, mainly for package holiday tourists from France and Northern Europe. The combination of a very good summer climate, nature, excellent beaches and a favourable foreign exchange rate, which made Costa Brava a relatively inexpensive tourist destination, was exploited by the construction of large numbers of hotels and apartments in such seaside resorts as Blanes, Tossa de Mar and Lloret de Mar. Tourism rapidly took over from fishing as the principal business of the area.
The coast was named Costa Brava by Ferran Agulló (in Catalan, Ferran Agulló i Vidal) in an article published in the Catalan newspaper La Veu de Catalunya in September 1908. Agulló, a journalist born in Girona, referred to the rugged landscape of the Mediterranean coast which runs from the River Tordera, near Blanes, to Banyuls with the name Costa Brava. Costa is the Catalan and Spanish word for 'coast', while Brava means 'rugged' or 'wild'. This term was officially recognized and promoted in the 1960s as it was deemed suitable to promote tourism in the region. Before Costa Brava became the official name, other names were suggested, such as Costa Grega (Greek Coast), Costa del Corall (Coral Coast), Costa Serena (Serene Coast), Costes de Llevant (Levant Coasts) or Marina de l'Empordà (Empordà Marine).
It may or may not be a coincidence that the name Costa Brava resembles Costa Blava (the Catalan designation of the French Riviera), which is a literal translation of the Spanish Costa Azul (Blue Coast). This in turn is a not-quite-literal translation of the French Côte d'Azur (Azure Coast); azul has the same etymology as azur, but it is the general Spanish term for blue, not specifically azure. A direct translation from French to Catalan would have yielded Costa d'Atzur.
Thank you very much for views, comments and likes!
Lloret de Mar , Costa Brava ,Spain. May 2019

The capital of the island, Palma, is also the capital of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands. The Balearic Islands have been an autonomous region of Spain since 1983. The Cabrera Archipelago is administratively grouped with Majorca (in the municipality of Palma). The anthem of Majorca is La Balanguera.
Like the other Balearic Islands of Minorca, Ibiza and Formentera, the island is an extremely popular holiday destination, particularly for tourists from Germany and the United Kingdom. The international airport, Palma de Mallorca Airport, is one of the busiest in Spain; it was used by 23.1 million passengers in 2014.
The name derives from Latin insula maior, larger island; later Maiorica, the larger one in comparison to Minorca, the smaller one.
Topography
Majorca is the largest island of Spain by area and second most populated (after Tenerife in the Canary Islands).
Majorca has two mountainous regions, the Serra de Tramuntana and Serres de Llevant. Each are about 70 km (43 mi) in length and occupy the north-western and eastern parts of the island respectively.
The highest peak on Majorca is Puig Major at 1,445 m (4,741 ft) in the Serra de Tramuntana. As this is a military zone, the neighbouring peak at Puig de Massanella is the highest accessible peak at 1,364 m (4,475 ft).[citation needed] The northeast coast comprises two bays: the Badia de Pollença and the larger Badia d'Alcúdia.

Salou, Costa Daurada, Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain, Europe
Salou is a municipality of the comarca of Tarragonès, in the province of Tarragona, in Catalonia, Spain. The city is approximately 10 km from Tarragona and Reus on the Costa Daurada and 112 km from Barcelona. Aside from its string of beaches interrupted by rocky coves, and its landscaped promenade, one of its main attractions is the PortAventura resort. The Dutch movie Costa! and the television series with the same title were both filmed in Salou. Used as a port by Greeks (who named it Salauris) and Romans, it appeared again in an important historic event, when in 1229 the fleet of James I of Aragon departed from the port of Salou to conquer the Balearic Islands, thus creating the Kingdom of Majorca. In 1286 Alfons III of Aragon also departed from this port to conquer Minorca, the last Moorish territory of the Balearic Islands. Later, Salou became a nest of pirates. After that it was considered an unsafe place, so in 1530 Archbishop of Tarragona decided to erect a new defence tower, now called Torre Vella. In 1865 the railway station began to operate, opening a new development time, that led one hundred years later to a tourist boom that has brought prosperity to the town. Salou was separated from the adjacent municipality of Vila-seca on 30 October 1989 by a decision of the Supreme Court of Spain. PortAventura is a growing theme park resort on the Costa Daurada. The resort includes luxury four-star accommodation, a major theme park, Costa Caribe Aquatic Park and a convention centre. The theme park's main attractions are the Dragon Khan, a massive B&M mega-looper; Furius Baco, which is one of the fastest roller coasters in Europe; and The Hurricane Condor, a tall falling-tower ride which is 100 metres tall. In 2012 a new roller coaster called Shambhala: Expedición al Himalaya opened adjacent to the Dragon Kahn. The park also has a grand multi-media show, called the FiestaAventura, every night between the end of June and the end of August which features fireworks, fountains and parade floats. Ferrari Land, with the highest and fastest vertical accelerator in Europe, is opening in 2016, and will also include the world's first Ferrari hotel. Salou is also home to the Lumine Golf Club (formerly known as PortAventura golf). There are three courses, labeled as north, south, and central. North and central were designed by Greg Norman and the south course was designed by Green Project. The facilities consist of two clubhouses, a beach club, Lumine restaurant, Hoyo 19 restaurant, a pro shop, rental services and a golf school. In the future the area surrounding the golf course will be developed into a community with six residential areas and services that include two five-star hotels, a sports area and the International School of Salou that will cater for up to 1200 students as part of the Lumine community. The Auditorium Theatre of Salou (Teatre Auditori de Salou) is an important part of the local community in terms of cultural and leisure in the municipality. The theatre plays local events such as political, school and cultural events and has also welcomed famous musicians to the area such as Sergio Dalma. Salou's main promenade is the Passeig Jaume I, which runs along the coast adjacent to the Llevant Beach, the longest beach in the town. Other beaches include Platja de Ponent, Platja dels Capellans, Platja Llarga and Platja Cala Crancs. Salou has 34 Blue Flag beaches. Water-sports, rentals and trips can be arranged on the Llevant Beach. Salou is used as the base for Rally Catalunya, part of the World Rally Championship. Salou has also held volleyball championships, football tournaments, a triathlon and many other competitive sports. Saloufest is the University sports festival which takes place on two separate occasions in April on an annual basis. The festival is infamous for its wild nature. The festival includes DJs and parties at the neighbouring resort's nightclub called Pacha. In the future the local government is expected to position Salou as a sport tourism destination and therefore will promote different projects that include first class facilities to provide the city with the necessary resources to become a tourist destination that attracts visitors of reference, especially in low season. They have announced a project that will feature swimming pools, football fields and tennis courts. In April 2012 the Mayor of Salou inaugurated the facilities that have been built, which are six football fields (four artificial and 2 natural) including changing rooms, bar, waiting rooms and rooms for training sessions the second phase includes a further 6 more open fields, billiards room and shop selling merchandise. Salou is the sub-site for the 2017 Mediterranean Games for sports such as sailing. Salou's closest airport is Reus (which it is connected to by a regular bus service) followed by Barcelona.

Holiday 2018 autumn Catalonia
Our autumn 2018 holiday to the Catalonia.
Visiting Salou, Barcelona and Andorra.
Salou is a resort town along Spain’s northeastern Costa Daurada, in the Tarragona province. Its beaches range from small, craggy coves to the busy main Llevant and Ponent strips. It's popular for windsurfing, sailing and golf. The Coastal Path, once used by fishermen like the one immortalized in a nearby statue, is now known for its sunrise and sunset views.
The Catalonia region, in northeastern Spain, is known for the lively beach resorts of Costa Brava as well as the Pyrenees Mountains. Barcelona, the regional capital, has a historic Gothic Quarter.
Antoni Gaudí’s distinctive modern art and architecture can be seen at the Sagrada Família Basilica.
Andorra is a tiny, independent principality situated between France and Spain in the Pyrenees mountains. It’s known for its ski resorts and a tax-haven status that encourages duty-free shopping. Capital Andorra la Vella has boutiques and jewelers on Meritxell Avenue and several shopping centers. The old quarter, Barri Antic, houses Romanesque Santa Coloma Church, with a circular bell tower.

Cala Agulla is a beautiful blue flag golden sand beach that is surrounded by glorious pine forests and the mountains of Llevant Natural Park.
The sand is fine, and the sea is clear and shallow. The beach is around 0.5 km long and averages a depth of 50 metres. You can rent sunbeds, but there are no watersports here. Lifeguards operate on the beach and there are toilets.
It is (of course!) popular during the summer months and attracts both tourists and locals. Beach volleyball is popular here. There is a beach bar and restaurant, and pay car parking is available.

Sant Pol de Mar is a municipality in the maresme region of Barcelona, located on the coast, between Calella and Canet de Mar, Catalonia, Spain.
This coastal town arose around the monastery of San Pablo, in the 10th century. Traditionally it was a village of humble fishermen until the end of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and thanks to the presence of the Maresme railway line was discovered by the Catalan bourgeoisie and upper classes, who chose it as a summer resort for its charm and proximity to Barcelona. That is why the summer residences of these families are still present in San Pol de Mar, as well as some modernist houses.
This small population currently bases its economy on tourism although large capacity hotels are not crowded in it but rather dedicated to a family tourism of medium-high purchasing level. It is also worth noting the pastry industry, renowned in the area.
