Places to see in ( Valencia - Spain ) Plaza de la Virgen
Right in the heart of Valencia’s historic district lies the charming Plaza de la Virgen, an old little square that dates back to the Roman times, offering tourists and locals alike a respite from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Bounded by three of Valencia’s most emblematic buildings – the Cathedral of Santa Maria, the Basílica de la Virgen de los Desamparados, and the Palace of the Generalitat, Plaza de la Virgen is a perfect spot for eating, drinking, and people watching. It plays host to several cafes and outdoor terraces that serve traditional Valencian fare accompanied by picturesque views of the city’s most renowned landmarks.
One of the square’s main attractions is probably its elaborate fountain, depicting Neptune surrounded by eight naked women. Created by local sculptor Silvestre Edeta, this work of art is actually an allegoric representation of Valencia’s Turia River and its eight irrigation ditches. At night, the lively Plaza de la Virgen is beautifully lit up, making for a particularly atmospheric backdrop for strolling and chatting.

4 days in VALENCIA SPAIN
Spending 4 days in Valencia, Spain was not our most sought after mini-holiday to experience, but it was necessary in order to get to Morocco in the cheapest way. So Heather found the cheapest route possible and it landed us in Valencia Spain for four (4) days before catching our next flight onwards. After spending 4 days in Valencia, we were so thankful for being able to have an extended layover here in one of our favorite countries: Spain! The City of Arts and Sciences really was spectacular!
Day 1 we explored the grounds of Reina Sofia Palace of the Arts, Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, and the Principe Felipe Science Museum .
Day 2 we explored the long winding old riverbed now turned into a park that intersect Valencia called the Jardi del Turia (Turia Garden), visited cathedrals, enjoyed traditional Spanish dancing in the Plaza de la Virgen, and ate local Valencia food.
Day 3 we ventured out of the city to check out the beaches of Valencia.
Day 4 was our last we checked out the Estatua Torero, Mercado Central (Central Market), and even ate American Tacobell! After that we left the city to explore Morocco!

This is my second walk in Valencia. Unfortunately, a memory card with the first walk was lost in Valencia. Two hours of video were, in my opinion, much better. Well, there will be a reason to return to Valencia again. Too busy schedule.

7 - 11 Giugno 2019
- Marina Beach Club
- Parque Gulliver
- Malvarrosa Beach
- Oceonografic
- Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciencies
- Jardin del Turia
- Plaza del Ayuntamiento
- Mercat Central
Consigli:
Seguitemi...
