Positano Walk
Positano, Amalfi Coast | Italy
We.Are.Wanderful
JUNE 12, 2015—One of our most memorable destinations in Italy is the cliffside village of Positano in the Amalfi Coast. The almost 1 hour road trip from Sorrento is very pleasant and scenic. The village of Positano is like taken straight from the pages of travel magazines—colorful cliffside houses, pebble beach, fashion and artisan hole-in-the-wall shops in steep and narrow streets, bougainvillea trellises, an imposing and storied church in the middle of it all...
To top it all, we got to spend some time in the beach for our very first dip in the waters of the western hemisphere.
This is a short video presentation of our walking tour at Positano in the Amalfi Coast. Enjoy watching.

Sorrento Italy Walking Tour | Amalfi coast |

Welcome to Sorrento!
A very beautiful little town in Southern Italy. In Sorrento as well as along all of the Amalfi coast everything is dedicated to its majesty, the lemon. There are all kinds of lemon products - candy, spices, pasta, soaps, souvenirs, decoration. Here lemons are huge, sweet and very aromatic. If you like Italian liqueurs, you must try limoncello - liqueur made with lemon peel from local lemons.
From Sorrento there is a great view of the island of Capri. If you like tasty food, narrow winding streets, cozy Italian restaurants and breathtaking natural beauty, then you’ll like Sorrento too.
„Marina Grande” is an obligatory stop in Sorrento. „The old port“ or „The fishermen’s port“ as it’s also called. You get there by a winding road which starts from the central part of the old town. A pleasant 15-minute walk. Here are the best fish restaurants in town.
If you want to explore all of the Amalfi coast, Sorrento is the right place to start from. Whether you rent a car or use public transport, everything is easily accessible. This is a journey you remember long after that. From here leaves the ferry for one of the most loved Italian islands – the island of Capri. You can board it at „Marina Piccola“.
I really liked Sorrento where everything is lemons!
Stay tuned for the next episodes from the journey in Southern Italy … soon!
I am Lora. Have a nice journey!

“Oh, Sorrento!” A walking tour | Sorrento, Campania | Italy | We.Are.Wanderful
JUNE 11, 2015—From Pompei we proceeded to the beautiful, cliff-top city of Sorrento. A major port city and the gateway to the Isle of Capri, Sorrento has a distinct and pleasant provincial atmosphere. I can almost describe it as lazy although not in a derogatory sense. I guess the better word is relaxed.
Sorrento is known for exquisite and super expensive woodworks, olive orchards, huge lemons, and—of course—limoncello. Popular landmarks and tourists attractions include Piazza Tasso and Duomo di Sorrento.
This is a short slideshow video presentation of our photos during our walking tour in the city center of Sorrento. Enjoy watching.

Experience Italy: Sailing in the Bay of Naples
Imagine mooring in harbours where colourful, pastel-hued houses perch on dramatic cliffs and azure waters glisten below; where ancient ruins, fragrant lemon trees, and imposing volcanoes dot the landscape; where sumptuous fresh seafood and exquisite wine await at every port. On a sailing trip in Italy, these dream-like scenarios aren’t too good to be true — they’re par for the course!
It’s no secret that Italy is home to some of the best sailing grounds in the Mediterranean: the country’s warm seas, pleasant climate, and diverse scenery create the perfect conditions for a truly spectacular and unforgettable holiday. What’s more, the coastline is easily accessible from cities like Naples and Salerno, so it’s easy to work a nautical adventure into your holiday if you plan on visiting southern Italy. The only downside? You’ll have a tough time trying to decide where you want to go sailing!
Psst...If you like what you see in this video, you’ll love a sailing trip around the Bay of Naples, where you can visit mainland towns like Amalfi and Sorrento, along with tranquil islands such as Procida and Ischia.
An Italian sailing trip is perfect for both sun-worshippers and adventure-seekers; in between sunbathing on deck and swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, there are plenty of opportunities to explore your surroundings and delve into Italian history and culture. Visit a lemon grove and sample freshly-made limoncello, hike up to the crater rim of Mount Vesuvius, or learn about Pompeii’s haunting history — with so much to see and do in this region, you’ll have a hard time staying put (but you’ll still find you have loads of time to relax and unwind, too).

Capri | Procida | Sorrento | Amalfi Coast | Italy | GoPro Hero 7 Black | DJI Mavic Air | Cinematic
This is the last part of our two week Italy trip series. Hope you enjoy it, and feel free to ask any questions!
The following was written by my lady about our time on the Amalfi Coast, Procida, Capri, and Sorrento:
“Procida was one of the highlights of the trip. We took the fast ferry from port of Naples and the ride was quite smooth and took about 45 minutes.
After getting off the ferry, we made our way to Spaggia Pozzo Vecchio.
We tried unsuccessfully finding a neighboring more secluded beach, so we decided to head to Spaggia Chiaia. This beach has very calm waters.
We sat by the water and relaxed for a little bit before heading to Marina Grande looking for lunch. There are no shortage of choices there but we decided on La Lampara because of the view that it offers! And what a view it was! This was also the first and only time we tried limoncello.
This is our travel day from Naples to Amalfi via Sorrento. We actually made the mistake of taking the wrong train. We ended up taking a trenitalia train from Piazza Cavour to Pompeii city, walking through the city to the Pompeii Scavi train station to catch the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento… We should have gone to Naples Garibaldi, caught the Circumvesuviana train or the Campania express train from there.
We checked our luggage at the Sorrento visitor center by the train station, which is also right across from the SITA bus stop to Amalfi, how convenient!
We had packed lunch so we ate by a water fountain, which saved some lost time and allowed us to see a little bit of Sorrento by foot. We walked through Valley of Mullini, Piazza Tasso, to the Villa Communale, then to Marina Grande.
We had wanted to go to the Bath of Regina Giovanni, but we were running out of time to catch the 5pm bus to Amalfi.
We made our way to the visitor center, collected our bags and hopped on the Amalfi bound SITA bus.
The bus ride along the Amalfi coast is as nerve wracking as riding a roller coaster… online reviews have not lied.
We took the SITA bus to Positano in the morning. The entire Amalfi coast gets great morning sun, so the walk into town gave us great photo ops of Positano.
We walked through the charming town and had lunch at the restaurant at the end of the Positano beach.
We then took the SITA bus back, which took us about two hours of waiting...! We should have taken the ferry, though the waves were strong that day and the weather was quite unpredictable. But we learned that traveling by ferry is much more pleasant and less stressful when the weather cooperates.
We took the San Andreas Capri ferry which runs once daily to and from Amalfi to Capri.
The ferry took is around Capri and we got an up close view of the Il Faraglioni. We arrived at Marina Grande and took a funicular to the town.
Capri was beautiful with a very ritzy side. But it’s natural beauty is just as impressive. We hiked to the look out point for the Il Faraglioni from above, and then the natural arch.
We had a quick bite before leaving Capri on the ferry back to Amalfi.
We took a SITA bus from Amalfi to Ravello. We walked through the town and visited the Villa Cimbrone, which is most famous for its Infinity Terrace. It’s gardens are also beautiful because of all the spring flowers in bloom.
We then walked down many stairs through a short cut pathway to Minori.
We then took a ferry from Minori to Amalfi, which was actually much quicker and pleasant if the weather is nice.
We enjoyed breakfast and the sunrise on our Airbnb balcony.
We then went on a sea kayaking trip, exploring the Amalfi coast from another perspective. We were pretty exhausted after 4 hours of kayaking.
After a brief rest at our Airbnb, we made our way to Amalfi and then took the short cut to Atrani on foot. We had a wonderful seafood dinner in Atrani before returning to the Airbnb.”

Positano, Italy: Jewel of the Amalfi Coast
More info about travel to the Amalfi Coast: Specializing in scenery, shopping and sand, the resort town of Positano hangs on the most spectacular stretch of the coast. It's a pleasant gathering of cafés, galleries, and boutiques. There's little to do here but eat, window-shop, and enjoy the beach and views...and that's exactly the way its many visitors like it.

Places to see in ( Sorrento - Italy ) Marina Grande
Places to see in ( Sorrento - Italy ) Marina Grande
The closest thing to a spiaggia (beach) is this pleasant sandy stretch at Marina Grande harbour; if you want to just loll in the sun, nearby jetties sport umbrellas and deckchairs. While it’s far smaller than the island of Procida in the Bay of Naples, this former fishing district has a glimmer of similarity, with its pastel-coloured houses, brightly painted boats and fishermen mending nets. There are some earthy seafood restaurants here too, serving fish from the morning’s catch.
The picturesque Port of Marina Grande, nestled into a charming nook of the Costiera Amalfitana (Amalfi Coast), has the atmosphere of a forgotten world. Despite being one of the most popular holiday resorts in Italy, the Port of Marina Grande has maintained its rustic charm, original identity, and sense of community.
Restaurants, homes and shops, rising along the curve of the rocks and the colorful booths on the pier, are all architecturally consistent, creating a harmonious neon free scene. Thus it has
remained one of Italy's untouched treasures.
The port's secluded atmosphere stems from its sheltered position, created by the promontory which separates the city of Sorrento from this delightful hidden harbor. The Promontory was once the site of a Roman villa belonging to the Emperor Augustus' nephew.

Walking Tour in Positano Amalfi Coast Italy /

The walk along the Amalfi coast is a dream for every fan of Italy, travel, beautiful nature and memorable views. Before visiting this part of Italy I had seen many different photos of the lovely towns along the coast. I was very impressed with the beauty of Positano, Amalfi, Ravello and all of the Amalfi coast. It’s no accident that this region is famous all over the world. This is a journey I will not forget soon. This is scenery which you remember for a lifetime maybe … the place where the sea and the mountain are so close. Even driving itself is somehow delightful, although the bends are many. Those high cliffs with beautiful colourful houses perched on them and the lemons, lots of lemons, everywhere lemons and olive groves along the way. A magnificent place! I drove around these picturesque towns for a day starting from Sorrento.
You can watch the video for Sorrento here:

Florence, Pisa, Pompeii and Rome 2015 Vacation
This video is comprised of shots taken during three separate days during our 12-day Mediterranean cruise with Holland America Lines. We visited Pompeii by contracting a taxi from Naples, where we were docked. We wanted to squeeze in a trip to Sorrento but ran out of time. From the port of Livorno, we took the train to Florence; the next time we visit we will buy tickets online for express admission to the Galleria dell'Accademia that houses Michelangelo’s statue of David because otherwise, the line is 2-hours long. The train back to Livorno stops at Pisa and here there was a pleasant breeze in the otherwise hot weather. To visit Rome, we docked at Civitavecchia and took the train. The Termini Station in Rome is so large, it’s easy to get lost or to miss your train just trying to find the correct platform. Because of the time constraints for returning to the ship in time, we rushed through the most notable sites of Rome, including the Coliseum, the Bocca della Verita, the Forum, the Trevi Fountain (which unfortunately was under renovation) and the Spanish Steps.

Разходка в Остров Капри | Амалфийско крайбрежие | Италия | One Day Trip in Capri | Amalfi coast

The island of Capri is one of the most attractive destinations for summer holidays not only for Italians but also for people from all over the world. Crystal clear waters, beautiful nature, lemons and many flowers.
I caught a ferry boat from Sorrento to the island. The journey isn’t long. Lots of people drop by for a few hours to see Capri and then go. I spent one day and one night in this beautiful place.
One of the biggest attractions on the island is the Blue cave, which I didn’t see, unfortunately. The sea was turbulent and it wasn’t safe for the boats that day. In spite of that I saw other beautiful places.
The island itself is divided into two parts (towns) – Capri and Anacapri. Capri is noisier, touristy, with lots of visitors. Most of the restaurants and shops on the island are here, while Anacapri is quieter and calm, it felt almost like a villa zone to me. From Anacapri you can get a one-seat lift to the highest point on the island. I climbed up to it. Its name is Monte Solaro - 598 m. There’s a magnificent view from there which you can admire at leisure. An ideal spot for photos.
The island greeted me and saw me off with great weather and smiley people!
I’d love to return to Capri!
