What I Drank Yesterday Il Carbonaione, Poggio Antico and Montevetranoo
A special thanks to our friend Gabriele for bringing three Most Excellent wines from Italy!! We are very familiar with the last two wines and they are always outstanding but this was my first dance with the Il Carbonaione wine and although it is hard to tell what it is from the label, once you taste the wine it doesn’t matter as the wine is outstanding.

Poggio Di Sotto Brunello di Montalcino Offering
Allright, I know some of you may think that I have a one track mind, Italian, Barolo, Barolo, Barolo... I know there is more to life than Barolo, but I can't figure out for the life of me why all the great wines start with a B? Bordeaux, Burgundy and of course Brunello di Montalcino!!!
With everyone focused on the new release from Montalcino, which is outstanding we just hosted a 2006 Brunello di Montalcino tasting and discovered that these wines are among the best in terms of quality that have come from this area in recent history. But lets now forget about the 2001 vintage wines which was also legendary in Montalcino and is just now starting to get close to maturity. Both of these wines are priced less than the current release!
Wine Moron - Brunello
The first Wine Moron video. I enjoy a lovely 2001 Altero. The brunello from Poggio Antico is the wine that started me on my wine journey. It seemed fitting to begin this channel with the wine that started it all.

Poggio di Sotto - Montalcino - Tuscany
Fattoria Poggio di Sotto was founded in 1989 on the south-east side of Montalcino, considered one of the best areas for the growing of Sangiovese. The small property extends over 32 hectares, 10 of which are planted with Sangiovese vines. The altitude, along with the protection of the ancient volcano Monte Amiata on one side and the Orcia river combined with sea breezes from the other, result in a unique microclimate.
The estate is run according to the criteria of organic farming. Under family ownership by the Tipa - Bertarelli family, the estate's wines are higly acclaimed by the national and international press such as Gambero Rosso, Wine Spectator and Robert Parker. Please visit collemassari.it .
