Coming back in after an afternoon of walleye fishing with my buddies Chris and Roy (aka Roylando). The white dot in the distance at the end is the Point Abino lighthouse. The Lake is so rarely this calm I just had to film it.

Mid- Century Compound on Magnificent Private Sand Beach
Once the main house of a sprawling summer estate, the beach house comes with the bonuses of a tennis court, huge pool and gymnasium, all right on the water. There are actually two houses but we use it as a single residence with one being more the day time house with an enormous kitchen that was originally staffed and a big living/dining room and observation tower. This house has just 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. It is connected to the gym that has a volleyball/badminton net as well as basketball hoops. It is a great thing for rainy days and night time play. There is also a good sized sauna in this house.
Right next to this is what we call the 'upstairs house', a classic mid-century home mostly on the second level over a three car garage. This house features a large living/dining room, a galley kitchen, an enormous second floor deck, 4 or 5 bedrooms and 3 baths. This house has walls of windows looking toward the lake, out over the tennis court and into the woods behind the house. It's a very unique place.
The oversized pool is adjacent to the tennis court and this all sits on a wide stretch of private beach from which sunsets may be best appreciated. It's a remarkable place to get away. For those who don't like to go cold turkey at the beach, we have WiFi and cable.
While I think of this as the ultimate beach experience, it is not a luxurious place. It was built at a time when the emphasis was on where you were, not what you had there. The living spaces are large but the bedrooms and baths are small and pretty original.
