Sailing Grand Cayman, BWI - Georgetown, East End, Rum Point Cruising Guide EP26
Grand Cayman Cruising and Activities Guide was written during Winter 2019. We sailed down during the Christmas/New Year's Holiday. Here you will find all the activity details during our stay, in a daily log format. Our hope is that you decide to visit Grand Cayman and can use this guide to plan your own activities.
Pilar spent the Winter of 2019 in Grand Cayman. We visited several times to get away from the cold rain in North Carolina. Cayman is our tropical paradise. Having visited numerous times before on our Diving adventures, we knew the island well. This time, viewing things from our catamaran, we got quite a different perspective on things. We docked in Cayman Islands Yacht Club in West Bay, on the Seven Mile Beach side of the North Sound for 4 months.
We arrived January 3 (my birthday!) and while the boat stayed through April 22, we flew back and forth a few times to spend some time in beautiful, friendly, warm, sunny, safe Grand Cayman. This video covers highlights of a Girls' trip, a Just Us trip, and an adventure with couple friends.
Activities include:
Cayman Islands Yacht Club
Morgan's Seafood
Bacaro
Lobster Pot
Stingray City
Turtle Centre
Hell
Starfish Point
Rum Point
Bio Bay
East End
Spott's Bay
Georgetown
Eden Rock

STINGRAY CITY & THE BARRIER REEF, GRAND CAYMAN!! | MSC Seaside 2019! | Ep 12
Good morning from the beautiful Cayman Islands! We start off by taking a look at what ships are tendered with us on this bright and sunny morning in Grand Cayman!
We both share a light breakfast on the ship, at the buffet on the top deck. We really liked having the options of going to one of two buffets, something that is unique to the MSC Seaside!
We then head down to get our tender sticker and shortly after are called to board the tender boat! I also explain how that whole process works just in case you have never been to a tender port before.
It's not too long before we're off on a catamaran sailing through the crystal blue waters of the Cayman Islands over to Stingray City! What a truly outstanding time we had playing with all the rays in the clear blue water!
Then it was a short trip over to the Barrier Reef where we had the best snorkeling experience EVER on an island! The water was crystal clear and you can see all of the marine life perfectly!
Tune in next time for last stop on this wonderful tour, Starfish Beach. Then we head back to the ship and for an AMAZING lunch!

Stingray City Grand Cayman Tour | Cayman Islands
We are the number one Stingray City Grand Cayman tour operator in the Cayman Islands. Our 30-foot center console speed boat puts us in a category above the competition. We also never take more than 12 guests per tour, and sometime less. Other companies will take over 60 guests per excursion, but we ensure with small groups that every guest enjoys the experience, being able to interact with our professional and friendly tour guides.
We also don’t just go to Stingray City, we also go to the Barrier Reef (snorkeling), Starfish Point, Rum Point (restaurant and bar) and the mangrove forest, all in one tour. Other tours and excursions will just go to Stingray City and maybe snorkeling, but we go the extra mile so that you can experience all that the Caymans have to offer. Our video shows all the different stops we go to.
The warm waters at the sandbar are ideal for anyone looking to have a fun day out on the water. The Stingrays are very friendly and our guides will show you how to interact with them in a safe and easy way.
Our boat has lots of space so that you won’t be in a crowded setting. The boat is backed up with twin 250hp Suzuki four stroke outboard engines, meaning that we get to the destinations quick, allowing our guests to have more time at each stop. A lot of companies operate from very slow boats, meaning that the majority of the time is spent getting there, instead of actually being there.
In case you are wondering, Steve Irwin (Crocodile Hunter) was killed by a completely different type of ray, and the stingrays we interact with at the sandbar on our tour are very safe. We have never had any issues before with them, and we intend to keep it that way.
We also provide free round-trip transport for our guests, so if you are a cruise ship passenger or over-night hotel/condo guest, we can pick you up and drop you off if you don’t have your own vehicle. Our excursion departs from the Yacht Club which is near the cruise ship port and Seven Mile beach, which is where the majority of overnight hotel and condo guests stay.
Visit our website today at and let us help you make your trip to see the Stingrays a reality!

Cayman Eco Adventures swimming with the stingrays in Grand Cayman island 1-29-2016
During The Rock Boat 16 we booked our time with the stingrays with Cayman Eco Adventures (345)-926-1744 and would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to go see them. We were on a nice boat with about 10 people and had a blast with the smaller crowd. Our guide was born and raised in Grand Cayman and as you will see in the video, was recognized by the rays. These are truly beautiful and genital animals that are a blast to be around.

Scuba Diving at the Grand Cayman Island. Ep119
Ep119. In this episode of Cruising Off Duty we continue our series where we use a Cruise Ship as our way to get around the Caribbean and scuba dive at 3 different islands. This is the episode where we take an excursion at the Grand Cayman Island to go Scuba Diving. The water warm, beautifully blue and is crystal clear. We saw a lot of colourful fish, turtles and eels in the 2 dives we did here. The Reef was good but not as good as you will see in upcoming episodes where we scuba dive in Roatan and Belize. So stay tuned for those episodes as well.
Hopefully you enjoy the episode. If so give it a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel so you don't miss any of the future episodes. If you have any questions you can leave them in the comments under the video or for an even more detailed Q&A you can reach us at CruisingOffDuty@gmail.com
Thanks for watching,

PS - Somehow my small camera bag with my usual main camera, Panasonic GH5, and my usual Vlog Camera, Canon G7Xii, were accidentally left in the trunk of the car and didn't make the trip to the Cruise Ship. In my backpack I did have my GoPro 5, my Mavic Pro Drone and my GH4, but I ended up shooting most of this episode using my iPhone X. It actually did a pretty good job.
If you are interested in any of the Camera Gear I Usually use or the Mavic Pro I use as my drone, you can go to the following Amazon links. If you purchase anything after going through this link, it helps support the channel by giving us a few shekels and it doesn't cost you a thing extra.

This is Chapter 23 of Paul Hodge’s 37 chapter HD video series chronicling the fantastic adventure awaiting you when you take a Princess cruise to the Western Caribbean. This HD video focuses on the 5th day of Paul’s cruise. After a 300+ mile overnight cruise. the Caribbean Princess’ arrived at about 7:00 am in the Grand Cayman Island’s city of George Town, the capital of the Cayman Islands Territory. This HD video shows the arrival, the shuttle boat trips to/from the George Town dock, the exploration of George Town and Paul’s return to the Caribbean Princess at about 2:00 pm.
Grand Cayman is the largest of the three Cayman Islands and the location of the territory's capital, George Town. The Island is administered by the United Kingdom. Its about 76 square miles in size and has a total population of about 52,000+ people, with a majority of its citizens (27,000+) leaving in its capital George Town.
“Of the flora, a good representation of the variety of plant life on Grand Cayman can be found at the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park located in the North Side District. At the park, one can find wild banana orchids, ghost orchids, thatch palm trees, red birch trees, mahogany trees and various fruit trees such as avocado, mango, guinep, naseberry, breadfruit, and tamarind. Yellow mastics and black mastics can also be seen.” *
In terms of wild life, the Island has blue iguanas, Grand Cayman amazon parrots, Central American agouti, and distinctive species of land crab. “The Cayman Islands Turtle Farm located in the West Bay district raises green sea turtles for their meat and to release into the wild.
Through breeding, the farm produces upwards of 1800 turtles a year. Between 1980 and 2006, the farm released approximately 30,600 turtles to the wild; because of a mark placed on each animal, the released turtles have been seen throughout the Caribbean.” *
“There are just under 600 banks and trust companies in the Grand Cayman, including 43 of the 50 largest banks in the world. Because of this large financial presence on the island, banking, investments, and insurance drive the economy in Grand Cayman.” * The financial services industry accounts for over 55% of the total economy, 36%+ of all employment, and 40%+ of all government revenue. Because of the Cayman Islands’s Financial Secrecy Laws, recent investigations have indicated that the Cayman financial institutions are often used by many crooks to hide money they have stolen or to evade taxes. *
“George Town is the heart of the Cayman Islands financial services industry. The Caymanian government offices are located in the city. The Caymanian government offices are located in George Town. These offices include the Legislative Assembly of the Cayman Islands, the Court Houses and the Government Administration Building.” **
“George Town is a popular port of call for the Caribbean with cruise ships anchoring in George Town Harbour Tuesday through Friday. Cruise ships calling at George Town anchor offshore and ferry their passengers ashore by tenders, also known as shuttle boats. Passengers disembark in George Town, in the centre of the Grand Cayman shopping district and usually remain anchored from early morning until mid-afternoon…….Activities available to tourists in George Town include submarine tours of George Town Harbour, glass-bottom boat tours, snorkelling, scuba-diving, parasailing, charter boat tours, rum distillery tours, art galleries, a historical museum, and of course, shopping and eating.” **
Paul’s HD video series is unique to YouTube because, for the first time on YouTube, a Western Caribbean Cruise is portrayed in great detail so experienced cruisers and people who have never cruised before can get a true feeling as to what its like to cruise for seven days to the beautiful Bahamas, Jamaica, Grand Cayman Island and Cozumel, Mexico.
This commercial free HD video series is dedicated to the many victims of hurricanes Irma, Harvey, Jose and Maria who have suffered terrible injuries and devastation.
Please support public service relief efforts to aid hurricane victims in Texas, Florida, Louisiana and other affected states. Thanks so much for your generosity and thank you for your compassion.
Please enjoy this HD video series and thanks for watching!

Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park is a non-profit outdoor garden and wildlife facility located in the North Side District of Grand Cayman Island in the British West Indies. The park is owned jointly by the Cayman Islands Government and the National Trust for the Cayman Islands, a group dedicated to preserving natural environments and places of historic significance in the Cayman Islands. Opened in 1994 with only the Woodland Trail completed, the park now also contains the Floral Colour Garden, a Cayman Heritage Garden, a lake, an orchid boardwalk exhibit, and a Blue Iguana Habitat. Also inside the park is a gift shop and a visitor's interpretive center, the starting point from which visitors can enter the Woodland Trail and other garden grounds.

Grand Cayman
A few video clips and photographs from our visit to Grand Cayman. They are not in any order. The island has stunning beaches and beautiful clear waters. It is well worth buying snorkelling gear, the fish are amazing. We visited the Turtle farm which also houses other fish and birds. We relaxed under the shady trees at Rum Point. Also went to visit Hell. Just to impress your friends, you can send a post card from there. An evening on the Red Sail Catamaran watching the sunset was something not to be missed. The Botanical Gardens are the place to see the critically endangered Blue Iguana. A captive breeding program has been set up to protect them. As few as 15 animals remained in the wild in 2003. The Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust and other partnerships are attempting to save the species. We hope they succeed.
