In this video we are touring Point Pleasant Park in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. This is Halifax's largest park. It is located at the tip of the Halifax Peninsula, where you have access to the Atlantic ocean on three sides. You can see the cruise ships, container ships and military boats entering and leaving the harbour.
This is a very popular place for many reasons. Locals love the park as it is large, has lots of trails and is dog friendly. There are also many trails that are dog off leash friendly.
This park is also monitored by Dalhousie University. They are studying the regrowth of the park after suffering major damage in 2004 when White Juan hit, a hurricane that brought major wind and snow.

I was privileged to attend a guided tour of Point Pleasant Park's military #history, courtesy of the #Halifax Military Heritage Society ( this past week. This #360video shows some of the highlights. Not only is Point Pleasant Park THE hub of outdoor activity in Halifax, but it is also a national historic site with a #military history dating back centuries.

Driving Downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia - Downtown to Point Pleasant Park
This video was a request by bizarrpeeps to drive from Clifton Street to the end of Marginal Road by taking Duke and Hollis Street. I started a bit before the Robie/North intersection and ended at Point Pleasant Park. The drive takes you from the North End, along the Halifax Commons, past the Halifax Armoury and Citadel Hill National Historic Site, down Duke Street past the Halifax Metro Centre toward the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) before turning right onto Hollis and through the city's financial district. Hollis ends at the VIA Rail and bus terminal where we turn left onto Marginal Road where we pass the historic Pier 21 before heading through the Halifax Seaport and HalTerm, one of the city's two container terminals. Enjoy the ride.

Point Pleasant Park lies on a rocky 75-hectare (185 acre) promontory jutting into the Atlantic Ocean at the eastern end of the Halifax peninsula, in Nova Scotia, Canada. This park has been a place of recreation for the citizens of Halifax since the city's founding in 1749. Before that, it was a hunting, fishing, and ceremonial area for the indigenous Mi'kmaq people. Until 1866, Point Pleasant was primarily a military bastion, but in that year it was leased to a newly formed commission for a public park. Trees were planted in its early years as a park and it soon became an urban forest where citizens could find an oasis of peace close to the bustling city.
