Poland Rediscovered: Kraków, Auschwitz, and Warsaw
Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide | Kraków's bubbly Baroque and cobbled charm is emerging as the exciting next Prague. Nearby, a visit to Auschwitz teaches us a timeless, soul-searching lesson. Systematically destroyed during World War II, Warsaw is a lively, thriving capital once again. |

First Time in Poland | 48 Hours in Warsaw
Welcome to Poland everybody! This is our first experience here in this country and we are going to spend 48 hours in Warsaw to kick off this series.
After a few delays we finally arrived in Warsaw, so we checked into our hotel and headed out to the old town to get some Polish dumplings and traditional polish potatoe pancakes to end our first night.
The next day we headed out into the old town and saw
- Old Town Square
- Warsaw Castle
- University Campus of Warsaw library viewpoint
We then went up the bell tower in castle square which is a great view point to see the city. For lunch we headed out to the Koszyki Covered Market.
In the afternoon we headed out to The largest park in Warsaw Lazienki Krolewskie and went on a little water gondola ride.
To end our time in Warsaw we went out to the Nocny markets.

First Time In Warsaw & Europe! My Impressions⎮Poland Trip 2018
Hi dear friends, welcome back to another travel vlog♡After a day of flying from Tokyo, it is still so surreal that I have finally arrived in Europe and Poland, visiting my dad's roots for the first time, and it's without a doubt that I had the most amazing and wonderful time exploring beautiful Warsaw. I was simply blown away by the beauty of Old Town, the colours of this city, the weather, and more importantly, the kind and beautiful souls who I met during this time. Words cant' express my gratitude enough for your help and precious time, it really means a lot to me, I am just so full of love. Thank you is only the beginning. It will be two days that I will cherish forever♡ The vegan food in Warsaw was also endless and so incredibly delicious, it is truly a vegan heaven! I really hope that you enjoyed this vlog, and perhaps found it as inspiration to also visit Warsaw one day! There is so much to see and visit here, every place is unique in its own way, and I am so grateful for this experience. See you in the next vlog, and I am sending my wholehearted love to you xxx

We visited Warsaw mid-September and had mixed weather - from cold and raining to warm. So best to bring some clothes that you can layer. The best food we had in the Old Town during our stay was at
Zapiecek. They had the best pierogi, potato pancakes and gnocchi. If you have time you might also like to stroll down the Royal Route from Old Town along Nowy Swiat up to Lazienki Park. There are also free walking tours of the Old Town that you can join as well.
Please make sure to follow our channel as we will be uploading loads of travel guides of Poland as we road-trip around this beautiful country.

POLAND - KRAKOW, WARSAW & A DAY TRIP TO AUSCHWITZ
Wow. What a trip.
See how our OVERNIGHT TRAIN went... that was definitely an experience!
Poland was absolutely amazing. Everything from the history and architecture right through to their delicious food (more pierogies anyone??).
The day trip to Auschwitz was incredible, it is a place that must never be forgotten. To actually stand in an area that has that much history... it was a somber experience.
Also learning the history behind Krakow and Warsaw was fantastic, we would definitely recommend anyone travelling Europe to add these to their list!
Enjoy Wanderlusters xx
25 Things to do in Warsaw, Poland | Top Attractions Travel Guide
This was our first trip to Poland and we dove into the capital headfirst. While our travels may have started in the charming Old Town, it wasn't long before we discovered that Warsaw has a cool artsy side. We visited bright neon museums in the art district, shopped in boutiques selling soviet-chic apparel, and got to experience the capital's legendary nightlife. It many ways it was a whirlwind visit, but it was also a fun introduction that made us curious to discover more of Poland in our future travels. The following video will highlight 25 things to do in Warsaw and give you a glimpse into this up and coming capital.

25 Things to do in Warsaw, Poland | Top Attractions Tourism Guide Video Transcript:
Well hello and welcome to Warszawa. This week we are exploring the Polish capital. We've already been here a few days and it has been amazing. It has been such a pleasant surprise and unlike any part of Europe we've traveled in so far. So yeah, this week we're going to be highlighting 25 things to do around the city and we're excited to show you what it is all about.
We came to Warsaw with little to no expectations and the city completely surprised us. Our week in the capital was spent sampling Polish cuisine, learning about the city's past through museums and historical tours, and also dabbling in a bit of the nightlife. Warsaw is quickly rising through the ranks and we think it won't be long before travellers are flocking en masse. So if you're planning a trip to Poland, don't skip over the capital because there is more to Warsaw than meets the eye.
This is part of our Travel in Poland series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Polish culture, Polish arts, Polish foods, Polish religion, Polish cuisine and Polish people.

10 Top Tourist Attractions in Warsaw
Over the centuries, Warsaw has been plundered and invaded many times by forces from Sweden and France to Russia. It suffered heavy damage from German bombs in World War II. Yet, Warsaw today is a new, vibrant city that has been largely restored to its pre-World War II. Among the tourist attractions in Warsaw, Old Town, with its palace, churches and castles, is not to be missed. Visitors also will want to take advantage of the city’s impressive cultural activities. Here’s a look at the top tourist attractions in Warsaw:
ROAD TRIP FROM WARSAW TO KRAKOW IN POLAND!
We woke up at 4:30 am to take a little road trip from Warsaw to Krakow in Poland!
We first wandered along the remarkably beautiful undergrounds of the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Magnificent chambers chiselled out in rock salt. Amazing underground saline lakes, majestic timber constructions and unique statues sculpted in salt. Almost 3 kilometres of meandering corridors, 800 steps to climb of which 350 have to be descended to reach the depth of 135 meters underground. Thus it is no surprise that till now, the Tourist Route, the main visiting route of the mine has been visited by 41,500,000 tourists from around the whole world in search of adventures. source:
Then we visited the Wawel Royal Castle and it was probably my most favorite part! The Wawel Castle is a castle residency located in central Kraków, Poland. Built at the behest of King Casimir III the Great.
Afterwards we toured Krakow old town and ate delicious food! The day came to a quick end as we checked into our Airbnb in Zakopane! Stay tuned for tomorrow's vlog!

2019-5-16 to 17 Warsaw, Poland
In 1915 during the First World War, the Germans captured Warsaw. However, in 1918 Poland became an independent nation again and Warsaw was made it's capital.
In 1920 the Battle of Warsaw was fought between the Poles and the Communist Russians east of the city. Also in 1920, the Polish Army Museum was founded. Afterward, Warsaw continued to flourish.
However, in September 1939 the Germans invaded Poland. They captured it on 27 September. At that time about 1/3 of the population of Warsaw were Jews (about 380,000 people). From October 1940 the Germans herded Jews from Warsaw and the surrounding area into a ghetto. In 1942 the Germans began deporting Jews from the ghetto to concentration camps.
Later, on 1 August 1944, the people of Warsaw rose in rebellion unsuccessfully. However, on 17 September 1945, the Russians captured Warsaw.
At the end of the Second World War Warsaw was left devastated. Most of its buildings were destroyed. However, it was slowly rebuilt.
Warsaw is a very beautiful city full of history and beautiful buildings.

One Day in Warsaw!!! Poland
Our trip to Warsaw was mainly job related. But, somehow we managed to take a day off and enjoyed a tour to visit the city. Our drone took some amazing footage of the Old Town, the Royal Palace, the Vistula River, the University Library and Rooftop Gardens. We liked the old architecture of the city, the tasty food, the laid-back atmosphere and the markets.
