Roseland NYC Live (1998)
In 1997, the band performed a one-off show with strings by the New York Philharmonic orchestra at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City. A live album primarily featuring these new orchestral arrangements of the group's songs was released in 1998. There was also a long-form VHS video of the performance, and a DVD followed in 2002, with substantial extra material including many early music videos.
同年 Go! Discs 為這場表演發行 VHS 錄影帶,四年後 DVD 上市。不像 CD 與兩張一套的黑膠版本,DVD 共收錄 16 首曲目,全部來自 Roseland 的現場表演,還有 Numb、Sour Times、All Mine、Over 與 Only You 五首歌的錄影帶剪接版本,再加上三部電影短片 Road Trip、Wandering Star 與 Portishead 主演的電影 To Kill a Dead Man。另外也有 Portishead 的網站廣告,可以透過隱藏式連結進入網頁。

Portishead Lake Grounds Green Flag Consultation
When is a public consultation not a public consultation? When NSC district councillor and salaried Executive Ass-istant Reyna Knight is involved. She states at the end of this 6 minute recording from the Lake Grounds Green Flag meeting the following: “It either goes ahead with full support or it doesn’t”. That’s strange, because it didn’t have full support yet still went ahead! That’s consultation in North Somerset Council! Listen also for NSC Officer Ed McKay telling us all that NSC is papering over the cracks at the Lake Grounds due to lack of funding. A Green Flag Award wasn't going to change this. It is a Green Flag by default purely because it was on the political agenda. More recordings to follow. Apology for sound quality. A small room with a lot of people, most of who where unhappy with the Green Flag Award before essential maintenance was carried out. Not what Reyna Knight wanted to hear. Sad that Vic Long of The Ship felt that getting his photo in the paper with Reyna Knight and Peter Bryant holding the Green Flag was more important than the views of a lot of people on the night.
The Rise of Slowthai - a UK Hiphop Prodigy
The rise of Slowthai is about a rapidly growing UK hiphop prodigy, from hits such as doorman and toaster, who is taking a different approach to music than his contemporaries and also succeeding in telling his powerful story and polarising views.
Tyron Kaymone Frampton gained the nickname slowthai was because he used to slur and mumble. His friends called him slow ty which eventually formed his name today
Born in Northampton to a Bajan and Irish parents, Slowthai is known for his gritty vocals, rough textures and politically charged statements Slowthai had a rough upbringing. He grew up a council estate in Northampton as his father left when he was 3. His younger brother died aged 1 from muscular dystrophy.
When asked if he’d lose sight of where he came from, Slowt hai said I’ll never lose it. I can’t lose it. It’s good because it makes you proud in what you do, and at the same time it’s like, “Why do I need to go anywhere else? I’m the king of Northampton!”
Slowthai doesn’t like the UK music scene, because he thinks its thriving yet stagnating. No ones competing with each other. He doesn’t like Co-signs, he believes the politics of the music industry is fraudulent, and that everyone’s just trying to get one up.
He believes his music to be an outlet. That because our personal lives are no longer hidden now with the internet, it’s just a way to voice his emotions. Frampton loves his mum, of whom he has a tattoo of, whom he believes to be the only queen deserving of the title. He only discovered hiphop due to a bootleg VHS copy of 8 mile.
His first EP Better Less than Usual was made in 2012, when he only wanted to make music for his home town Northampton. In 2016 his track Jiggle started getting him recognition in London, New York and abroad.Fast forward to May 2019, he releases Nothing Great About Britain. In a time when Britain has a Housing crisis, a healthcare crisis and a political crisis
Listening to these tracks, you feel uneasy, his raspy and vicious rap style is unusual at first
Whether it’s drug abuse, a poor family life or crime, there are also far more personal themes present on here. On drug dealer for example, he feels he has no choice to be one, but he is desperately seeking an escape
On Missing, he displays a struggle with his rise in Fame and his general deep insecurities
On Grow up, he talks about his daily past life in Northampton. The simplicity of old times often makes him reminisce. In this sense, the rise of slowthai and his status on becoming a uk hiphop prodigy.
Slowthai’s Mum also listens to Doorman every morning, it says it gets her going. No doubt it must be proud for a parent to see your son spreadhead a new change for british music
The instrumentals here and across his resume have always been unique and ever changing. From strings to samples to drums to odd synths. Slowthai represents change. His music may not be perfect for everyone, but his attitude should be something to learn from.
It’s a lesson that you should unabashedly be yourself in everything you do. That's how you go from council estates to Glastonbury.

Bjork And Thom Yorke - I've Seen It All
Enjoy ;)
I've seen it all, I have seen the trees,
I've seen the willow leaves dancing in the breeze
I've seen a friend killed by a friend,
And lives that were over before they were spent.
I've seen what I was - I know what I'll be
I've seen it all - there is no more to see!
You haven't seen elephants, kings or Peru!
I'm happy to say I had better to do
What about China? Have you seen the Great Wall?
All walls are great, if the roof doesn't fall!
And the man you will marry?
The home you will share?
To be honest, I really don't care...
You've never been to Niagara Falls?
I have seen water, its water, that's all...
The Eiffel Tower, the Empire State?
My pulse was as high on my very first date!
Your grandson's hand as he plays with your hair?
To be honest, I really don't care...
I've seen it all, I've seen the dark
I've seen the brightness in one little spark.
I've seen what I chose and I've seen what I need,
And that is enough, to want more would be greed.
I've seen what I was and I know what I'll be
I've seen it all - there is no more to see!
You've seen it all and all you have seen
You can always review on your own little screen
The light and the dark, the big and the small
Just keep in mind - you need no more at all
You've seen what you were and know what you'll be
You've seen it all - there is no more to see!
