Historic Hayward Field - University of Oregon
Eugene, Oregon was absolutely beautiful and the campus was as well from the little I saw. The guy pulling the luggage behind me in one of my last pics is Ashton Eaton, who went on to win the gold in the decathlon at the Olympics this year. The track was so soft and rubbery that while I was racing the guys in the 200m dash, during the final straight away, I almost tumbled forward because of how much spring the track gave you.

2014 Eugene, Cascades & Coast Hospitality Award - Eugene Running Company
The Eugene Running Company is not just a shop for running shoes. Sure you can stock up on over 18 brands of shoes and running gear, but stepping into the Oakway Center store is really about engaging with Eugene's world famous running culture.
Owned by Bob and Laura Coll, both passionate and accomplished runners themselves, the Eugene Running Company invites track fans, walkers and runners to participate. TrackTown USA memorabilia adorns the walls, staff conducts treadmill analysis for proper shoe fit and all levels of runners find a receptive environment for questions, resources and advice. Weekly ongoing walks and runs originate from the store front, and monthly physical therapy check-ins are offered to help runners train safely after injuries.
The Eugene, Cascades & Coast Hospitality Award is presented to frontline staff or teams who provide exceptional customer service, enriching visitors' experiences in the Eugene, Cascades & Coast region, extending their stays and encouraging return visits.
