Priyadarshini Point (Forsyth Point), Pachmarhi 1
This is the point from where Captian Forsyth discovered Panchamarhi in the year 1857. After that the British developed Panchmarhi as a resort. The churches and other structures of this hill station are the clear evidence of the colonial influence.
Formerly known as Forsyth point, this vantage point provides the panoramic view of Panchmarhi and its splendid surroundings. The most spectacular vision from this vantage point is that of the Handi Khoh ravine.
One of the eye-catching sights from this vantage point is viewing the sunset, when the predominant peaks in the Satpura range presents a radiant and sizzling look in the setting sun against the amethyst backdrop of the sky.

Rajendragiri Garden (Sunset Point), Handi Khoh, and Priyadarshini Point of Pachmarhi
Rajendra Giri Sun Set Point is a picturesque spot and offers panoramic views of Pachmarhi. The site was named after Dr. Rajendra Prasad, as he was a frequent visitor to Pachmarhi.
The Rajendra Giri Sunset point is the ideal place to enjoy a great view of nature, especially the sunset. You can spend a quiet evening here with your family and friends as it offers a perfect setting for relaxation and unwinding.
One of the most beautiful ravines in Central India, Handi Khoh has a 300 feet high precipice in the middle of a dense forest. The place has a mythological history and is believed to be closely associated with Lord Shiva.
Handi Khoh is popularly believed to have been a lake earlier. An evil devilish snake, which was guarding the lake was annihilated by Lord Shiva and the fury of the battle dried up the entire lake and the empty space took the shape of a handi (pot). Handi Khoh is famous for its quaint serenity and its old-world charm.
This is the point from where Captain James Forsyth discovered Pachmarhi in the year 1857. It was only after this that Pachmarhi was recognized as a hill station and a resort. Priyadarshini point gives an eagle's eye view of the entire hill station and its serene landscape.

Ashoka movie shooting location ! Apsara fall ! rajat prapat ! apsara vihar pachmarhi
Apsara Vihar is naturally formed pool with a beautiful and small waterfall. Fondly known as Fairy Pool, Apsara Vihar is situated in the hills of Pachmarhi near Pandava Caves. The 30 feet high waterfall forms a shallow pool, which is a popular picnic spot among locals as well as tourists. Water of the pool is perfect for swimming and diving.
San Sanana - Asoka | Shah Rukh Khan | Kareena Kapoor | Alka Yagnik
According to a legend, English ladies used to bathe in this pool during the British rule in India. As the English ladies wore white clothes while bathing, locals thought them to be fairies and hence named the pool as Apsara Vihar or Fairy Pool.
Located just 13 km away from the Pachmarhi bus stand, Apsara Vihar can be reached through gypsy, which can be hired by tourists.
This Rajat Prapaat waterfall is one of the biggest fall in India & looks more beautiful in Monsoon Season... As this fall is in Jungle area so you need permission from forest department & they allowed you to see it from opposite direction mostly for photography as you are not allowed to go & enjoy under this waterfall..
It takes 1 km trek to reach there & nearest attraction is Apsara Vihar waterfall just 0.5 km from here...

Pachmarhi is a city in Madhya Pradesh. It is the only hill station in the central region of India. It is situated in the Satpura range and is 3500 ft above sea level. Pachmarhi comes under the Hoshagabad district and is called 'Satpura ki Rani'.
The area was discovered in the modern times by Captain James Forsyth of the British army. In 1857, Pachmarhi became a hill station and sanatorium for British troops in the Central Provinces of India. The population in 1901 was 3020, doubling during the hot summer months. Pachmarhi also served as the summer capital. Pachmarhi is 47 km from Pipariya.
While there are several sites within 5-6 km radius, the best way of getting around is to hire a four-wheeler, Maruti Gypsy being the norm in Pachmarhi. Gypsy can be hired through open market or hotel can arrange with Gypsy operators. It gets comfortable if one visits places of heart-attraction in Pachmarhi in their own vehicle.
One excellent and economic option is to share a Gypsy for sightseeing. They make shared tour keeping in mind the preferences of tourists (for example families or couples are not mixed with group of boys). You would really need to look around for providers of shared tours because everyone tries to promote full hire of vehicles.

Reechgarh Caves Pachmarhi || Ashoka movie shooting place || pachmarhi trip #13
Reechgarh is also the place where some scenes of ashoka movie shoot with kareena kapoor. Reechgarh has two meaning. One in English which actually Ridgegarh because of the natural ridge formed at the spot
The Hindi name of the the place is Reechgarh, Reech in Hindi is for a Bear. And the place is where bears were seen. It's a natural beauty where the rocks are carved naturally
A must visit place, it's got a small climb but the place is mesmerizing.
Reechgarh - one of the biggest natural cave in Pachmarhi. Reech stands for Bear and the cave is said be the place for bears. Quite a massive cave and very interesting inside. The place is very picturesque and a rough terrain. The cavern looks like a canyon inside with lot of water scars running for centuries inside. We spent close to 30 minutes here and it was really a worth time to spend.

Temples though have been named after Pandavas – adventurous brothers from the Hindu epic Mahābhārata.
Caves have even given the name to the town – Panchmarhi can be translated like five caves or also five huts.
According to the local mythology Pandavas were living in these caves for 12 – 13 years while hiding away from their enemy relatives. There are several more Pandava Caves in India where reportedly have been hiding these same Pandavas – like Pandav Leni Caves in Nashik, Maharashtra.
One of the brothers, Arjuna, taught music to Nagpati, he wedded the daughter of Nagraj Vasu who lived in Nagdwari some 15 km from Panchmarhi.
According to the legend five caves were made for each of the brothers – Yudhishthira, Arjuna, Nakul, Sahdeo, Bhima and for their wife – Draupadi.
Draupadi Cave (Draupadi Kuti) is the most spacious and best ventilated one. Bhima’s Cave (Bhim Kothari) is the darkest of them all – Bhima was the toughest of all five brothers.

Catholic Church of Panchmarhi: Who will take care?
It was in 1857 that Captain James Forsyth recommended the development of the saucer-shaped valley as a resort. Development of Pachmarhi as a fast emerging hill station and tourist resort are the advantageous of the English reign. The Catholic Church in Pachmarhi is built during this period. A classic example of colonial era, this fabulous church allures the tourists with its exceptional beauty.
A beautiful blend of the French and Irish architecture, the Catholic Church brings back memories of the colonial past of Pachmarhi. The Belgium stained glass windows gives a special charm to this beautiful shrine. The cemetery of the church has graves dating back 1859, and is the final resting place of many soldiers of first and second world war.

Handi Khoh- The scenic point of Panchmarhi, Madhya Pradesh,India
Handi Khoh- The scenic point of Panchmarhi, Madhya Pradesh,India.Handi Khoh is a 300 m deep ravine that is believed to have an interesting legend behind it. It is believed that there used to be a lake here which was guarded by a giant snake. The snake instilled terror in all those who visited the place. Lord Shiva came to the rescue of the townsfolk and imprisoned the snake in a rock. The blazing fires of this battle dried up the lake, resulting in the ravine. The secluded nature of this place has made it notoriously famous as a suicide point.
