PROVENCE, France - Beautiful LAVENDER FIELDS and FRENCH RIVIERA (Avignon, Nice, Monaco)
After an incredible Italy-Croatia trip, my friend and I have decided to embark on a short South of France trip. Ever since I saw pictures of the beautiful French lavender fields, I have always wanted to travel to South of France and this summer was my opportunity. We did arrive in mid-June, so most fields have not bloomed yet, but its beauty can still be felt (fields usually bloom end-June to early-July). Southern France has so many little cute towns such as the little towns of Gordes and Isle sur la Sorgue. And of course, the iconic French Riviera, also known as the Cote d'Azur with its milky blue water and beaches. Nice is a city that truly has it all. Right next to all of this is the little city state of Monaco that boasts some of the most luxurious attractions on Earth. All in all, I love France.

How to spend a Weekend in Provence + Wine Tasting in Bandol | Sophie's Suitcase
For our fourth day aboard Crown Princess we embarked at one of my favourite regions, the French Riviera, on the south east coast of France on the Mediterranean Sea, at the foot of the Alps. We jumped in a taxi and headed an hour away from the coast to Provence – one of the most popular holiday regions in the south of France located within the French Riviera and is famous for its sunny weather, colourful countryside, tradition, wine, food, and language. Here is how I spent 24 hours in Provence and how we accepted the challenge to visit three Provence vineyard tours.
I hope you enjoy it and feel inspired to travel and maybe book a cruise yourself? Read all of my blog posts on my trip: and my post on 24 hours in Provence:

France VLOG - Walking through the vineyards of Provence
While I love visiting luxury hotels and dining in fancy restaurants, to me, the best thing about travel is seeing friends around the world. I love France and my favorite place in France is Provence. I'm lucky enough to have a friend who lives in Les Gaps, Flassan, near Carpentras, under the shadow of Mont Ventoux.
During my recent France adventure, we had a chance to take the TGV train from Paris to visit with him for a few days.

Nice & Provence: Southern France ♥HaleyProject
The best time to visit Nice & Provincial Southern France & Cote D'Azur is the spring and fall.
It's not too hot but warm enough for summer clothes and is not packed with tourists so you can relax and enjoy your vacation like it is meant to be!
Here are the places I went and loved:
Nice
Eze
Monaco
Verdon Gorge
Saint Croix Lake
*Moustier Saint Marie
My favorite and voted the most beautiful in France!! :D
Arles
Roussillon
Les Baux De Provence
Chateau la coste Winery
Avignon
The only travel tip you will need: you need to rent a car for Southern France

Provence Rosé Wine - So Special?
What are Provence Rosé wines, and what makes them unique in the world of French wine, and in the world of wine in general: discussing their color, style, flavors, winemaking, terroir. soils and climate, etc.
Provence pink wines explained while reviewing and tasting 2018 Chateau Routas Coteaux Varois en Provence Vin Rosé, a fine example of Southern France Rosé.
Winery Notes about Chateau Routas Provence Rosé
Grape Variety:
45% Cinsault 35% Grenache 20% Syrah
Appellation:
A.O.C. Coteaux Varois en Provence
Average age of vines:
15 years
Vinification:
The grapes are gently destemmed, cooled and pressed. The juice and the skins remain in contact for 24 hours. After this brief maceration, 8% of the Syrah goes straight into wooden barrels for primary and malolactic fermentation. The Cinsault, Grenache and remaining Syrah are fermented in stainless steel tanks, blocked from malolactic fermentation. The two different lots are aged separately, and blended prior to bottling.
Aging:
3 months
When to drink:
After bottling, and for a further 2 years.
Tasting Notes:
Freshly cut watermelon, ripe peach aromas and floral notes lead to a palate alive with wild strawberries and hints of mineral notes. Crisp acidity and a refreshing finish.

“There is an admirable fact about the psychology of France: she knows no half measures, loathsome or sublime, she forges the thought and the beauty of a world or of a dung heap; her destiny is never to be mediocre.” Joséphin Péladan
