Puerto Morelos - Mexico - Mayan Riviera.
One of the lesser known beauties on the Mayan Riviera, Puerto Morelos is a sleepy little fishing village situated right on the Caribbean. Puerto Morelos is nestled almost exactly in the middle of Playa del Carmen and Cancun on the Mayan Riviera of Mexican. You can stroll around the whole town in a matter of minutes, stop in a lot of local Puerto Morelos restaurants and there are also many hotels, guest houses and boutique resorts going up in Puerto Morelos.
Join me on my eventful tour of this little piece of paradise ... Puerto Morelos!

Puerto Morelos, Mexico - Feb. 2018
Tina & I have friends who have visited Puerto Morelos annually for many years so we decided to spend some time there, too. We found the town and area to be interesting and pleasant. The town is attractive right on the beach with many restaurants and very pleasant people. We explored by walking day after day and I took many photos that now are in this video with some nice Mexican music. Hope you enjoy visiting Puerto Morelos with us!

A Day In Puerto Morelos & Shopping at Super Chedraui (Mexico Trip 2018)
#PuertoMorelos #SuperChedraui #Mexico
It was such a lovely day in Puerto Morelos, we got up walked to the town square. First making a stop at the Hotel el Moro for breakfast. Not one of our cheaper meals, but it was very good. I got scrambled eggs with bacon, Faith got an omelet, both of us got corn tortillas with our eggs & some spicy salsa verde. The kiddos didn't get anything out of the normal, but their juices were served in large glasses. Sam got an orange juice & Evan got watermelon juice, which was delicious, yes he let me have a taste of it.
After our meal the kids played in the park at the town square, just to let them run off some energy.
From there we hopped into a taxi out to La Colonia to go to the Super Chedraui, for some groceries. It cost us 30 pesos or $1.53 USD to ride there from the town square. If we had only known that they had a Selecto Super Chedraui just about a block to the South of the town square, we wouldn't have gone to the one in La Colonia.
At first I compared it to Walmart, but after going to both of the Super Chedraui stores by Puerto Morelos, I would compare it more to Kroger. I like the Super Chedraui grocery stores, they have a really nice selection. They have a nice deli, meat department, & a very neat bakery. We ended up spending $45.63 USD or 897.36 pesos for what normally costs us about $115 USD in the US.
From there we took a taxi back to our Hotel which cost 35 pesos or $1.78 USD. Unloaded our groceries & made our way to the beach, to see if we could get some snorkeling in. Sadly, the wind was pretty strong & the water was very cloudy. We ended up walking back to the hotel after a pretty short attempt at snorkeling.
We got changed and went back to the town square to explore & have fun with the kids.
After a while we went to this neat restaurant that is above the shops on the South side of the town square called Punta Corcho. We got some incredibly good food there, Sam kept asking us to go back there, each day for the remainder of our stay in Puerto Morelos. Faith had some delicious Lionfish tacos, I had a fish ceviche, that was served in hot molcajete, & Sam had grill fish, I can't remember what we ordered for Evan. It ended up costing around 950 pesos or $48.35 USD. I feel that with how nice of atmosphere & how delicious the food was, that it well was well worth it. I highly recommend going to Punta Corcho, if you visit Puerto Morelos.
We walked through some of the shops & found ourselves back at the park again. I took that opportunity to walk over to Europcar to see their pricing on a rental car, so that we could drive down to Coba & Tulum the next day, rather than taking a tour bus or cab. They quoted me a much nicer price than what we heard at the airport, $80 USD for the day, so I went with it.
From there we went back to the hotel to crash for the night.

Puerto Morelos Quintana Roo
