Radhanagari (Dajipur) Wildlife Sanctuary has been declared as World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Radhanagari Forest comes as a part of Western Ghats. Western Ghats is immensely important with unique bio-physical and ecological processes in India. Radhanagari declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1985. It's surrounded by Radhanagari (लक्ष्मी तलाव) & Kalammawadi(काळम्मावाडी) Dams.
Radhanagari Wildlife Sanctuary is spread across 351.16 SqKm. and out of which 18 Sq.Kms area is open for tourists as mentioned by our guide.
How to Reach:
Nearby city is Kolhapur. You can reach to Kolhapur by your preferred means of travel (Air, Train & Road).

Indian Bison or Gaur is the tallest species of wild cattle found in India and largest extant bovine. Gaur (Bos guarus) is native to the Indian Subcontinent and listed as Vulnerable due to habitat loss but the population is stable in protected areas of South India, particular in Western Ghats and Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve.

Radhanagari Wildlife Sanctuary(Marathi: राधानगरी वन्यजीव अभयारण्य) is a wildlife sanctuary and natural World Heritage Site of category ix and x since 2012, located in Kolhapur, Maharashtra state India. It lies at the southern end of the Sahyadri hills in the Western Ghats. It is notable as the first declared wildlife sanctuary in Maharashtra, notified in 1958, as Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary and is popularly known as the Bison Sanctuary.
This is a natural World Heritage Site notified by UNESCO as Sahyadri sub cluster of Western Ghats. The sanctuary is located between 16°10‟ to 16°30‟ north latitude and 73°52‟ to 74°14‟ east longitude.
