Astore is one of the nine districts of the Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. The district contains the Astore Valley and is bounded to the west by Diamer District (from which it was separated in 2004), to the north by Gilgit District, to the east by Skardu District and to the south by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Neelum District of Azad Kashmir.
Rama Valley is thickly forested with huge pine, cedar, fir and juniper trees. The valley is about 3300 meters (10800 feet) above sea level and thus is snow covered for 7–8 months of the year. In summer, it becomes lush green; conditions favored by local shepherds.From here one can trek to east side of the Nanga Parbat (also known as the Killer Mountain), the world's 8th highest mountain.

It is day 3 of our trip, after spending the night in Rama meadows next morning we planned to go to Rama Lake. Rama Lake is a lake near Astore in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It is on the top of the beautiful Astore Valley, with a light cover of oak trees and other greenery.

Astore is one of the ten districts of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Rama Lake is a lake near Astore in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It is on the top of the beautiful Astore Valley that has a light covering of oak trees and other greenery. There is not much greenery (as of 2013) due to illegal logging of the forest by locals and timber mafia. The region has low average rainfall and low vegetation cover hence the loss of forest cover is of very serious concern.
Allah Wali jheel also called Allah named Lake is one of another ancient tourism spot of Astore Valley. It is at the end of Perishing valley in Gotomsar town, a 90-minute drive away from the Astore (HQ). The name Allah written by the river is famous because the river passes only through the vast aisle in the huge greenfield, This aisle is in a zigzag manner and name of Allah becomes obvious if it is looked from some altitude. The greenfield is nearly 5,000 m2 bounded by the high altitude mountains. There is Rest House build by the government to provide night stay accommodation and kitchen facilities for both national and international tourists. The broad greenfield is attractive for sports activities. In each year an official sports[football, cricket, volleyball, and swimming] tournament event is held in July and August.

Rama Lake Astore Valley Pakistan
Rama Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in Pakistan. It is situated in Astore Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. We have visited this lake in August 2015. We are eight Friends including Hazber, Zeeshan, Zia, Usman, Muzaffar, Yasir, Mushtaq and Baber. First of all you will reach Astore valley via Naran or Gilgit. After reaching Astore it will take about 45 minutes to reach PTDC Motel, its the best place filled with greenery and awesome view. If U cant find a room in PTDC motel, U can arrange a tent from local persons at reasonable Price. There are many hotels at Astore but I recommend that dont stay there, because U cant find beauty there. From PTDC Motel U can reach Rama Lake either by Jeep or Hiking. Jeep will take about 30 minutes to reach there while Hiking can take about 1 hour 30 minutes. Lake is beautiful surrounded with Snow covered mountains and having beautiful view. U can visit this Lake around the year but the best time is from May to October. Must visit this Lake whenever U visit Astore Valley. Have Fun.

Under the eyes of great mountains and glaciers the silent water of beautiful Rama Lake is lying down. The color changing water of Rama Lake and beauty of Rama meadows is undefinable in words. With my friends, I went to explore this marvellous area of Northern Pakistan.
This vLog (travelogue video) covers our trip and travel from Lahore & Gujrat to Astore valley via Naran and Babusar. We trekked to Rama Lake from Rama Polo ground (Meadows). Finally in the evening we did Night Photography and Camping in Rama forest.

This video is part of a series of Videos I made in October 2011 during my visit to Pakistan.
In my previous video at Rama
you will notice that we had a challenge of turning our vehicle around to start the journey back.
This video shows you how the 9 point turn was executed without a working handbrake and despite the scepticism of Ali & Manzoor (both Balti) who are extremely sceptic of driving skills of non-baltis.
Rama lake attracts relatively less tourists due to remoteness and difficult access - its a blessing in disguise - as the place is still litterer.
The idea was to picture Nanga Parbet which is clearly visible from the lake, however, the weather didn't allow much sighting.
We had come down from Skardu after crossing deosai plains into a beautiful village/town called Astore.
There is a beautiful PTDC Motel in Rama (town) where you can stay before hiking/driving to the lake in the morning.

Lake is covered with snow clad peaks including Himalayas 2nd tallest peak #Nanga_Parbat and presents a tremendous view to its visitors. Accessible in summer season. Best months to visit are July, August and Sep.
#Sheosar_Lake is located in Deosai Plains at an elevation of 13500 ft. The highest plateau also known as as roof top of the world.
