Goecha La Trek 2017 | Himalayan Trek | Video Blawghh Full HD Part 2
Hey guys, as promised this is part 2 of the blawghhers first ever Himalayan experience with Goecha La trek in Sikkim, India. In the first part of the video series, we covered the journey from Bagdogra to Yuksam.
The 2nd part marks the start of the actual Goecha la trek through the Khangchendzonga national park. In this video, the trek starts early morning from Yuksam with our first pit stop at Sachen. We had to forego halt at Sachen since the rains made it impossible to camp here. This meant we had to head to our next pit stop at Tsokha, which means we walked almost 18km on the first day itself.
Day 1: The first day of the trek was a make or break for me, being the first trek I was physically exhausted and mentally drained to carry on ahead of Bakhim. But my guide Shiva and Biki along with Adityo ensured that I got to Tsokha safe and sound. It was immaculately late when we got here and all my trekking gear right from the poncho to the headlight had been used up on the first day itself. It was then I realized why Goecha la is a difficult trek physically and mentally.
Day 2: After the emphatic views of the early morning sunrise, I made the all-important decision to continue on. Re-assured by all the experienced trekkers by my side that the most difficult part has been overcome we started walking towards Phedang. The forest trail of Rhododendrons made for a lovely walk and then on to Dzongri via Deorali top.
Day 3 and 4: Dzongri is a beautiful place and the camp is the last place where you will find a shop, in case you need some more tissues papers, woollens etc. We had a 2-day halt at Dzongri that included a short trek to the Dzongri top

■ ■ The Story
With ten porters, two guides and a cook, the team of three: George, Alexa and Blanchet starts their epic trek from Yuksam in West Sikkim.
The team head north to Goecha La Pass to see early morning views of Mount Khangchenjunga and, then head west to the border of Nepal or the Singalila Ridge.
From there they head south along the Singali La ridge to see Mount Everest and Mount Khangchenjunga.
On the 13th day, the team reach a remote village at the border of India and Nepal, inhibited by a nomadic yak herder. The film was shot using camera powered by custom made solar chargers, as there was no power facility during the entire trek.
George was affected by Keratoconus, a rare eye disorder which decreases the thickness of cornea and results in a distorted vision, during his childhood. During his teenage years, he lost all his hopes about life as this took him away from what he wanted to do in his life and what he dreamed. George finds that traveling is one of the best medicines for his eyes and end up trekking in the Himalayas to find solace and tranquility.

164 Sikkim Tsokha village Dog
magyarul lsd. lennt
The location is Tsoka village above Yuksom at about 3000 meters above sea level. It shows a friendly dog. When he realizes I have filmed him he runs off. What kind of dog could it be I wonder?
---------------------------------------
A helyszín a Yuksom feletti Tsokha falu kb. 3000m magasságban. Egy barátságos kutyát ábrázol. Mikor észrevette, hogy filmezem elvonult. A falut tibeti menekültek lakják. Vajon milyen kutyafajta lehet ez?

SIKKIM - GANESH TOK QUAINT HINDU TEMPLE
Various colourful items are being sold at temporary small shops outside Ganesh Tok, Sikkim amidst colourful prayer flags.
Ganesh Tok is one of the major places of attraction for the tourists in the north-eastern state of Sikkim. It is one of the most well known temples in the Sikkim. It stands at a height of 6,500 feet. The Ganesh Tok of Sikkim main deity of this mandir is Lord Ganesh, who is one of the gods according to the religion of Hinduism.
Like the Hanuman Tok, the Ganesh Tok offers a fascinating view of the surrounding regions. One can get a clear view of Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim. The premises of the Raj Bhavan can also be viewed from this mandir. If you visit the Ganesh Tok in Sikkim on a cloudless day, then you might be fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of the magnificent Mt. Khangchendzonga.
The space within the temple is not even sufficient to house one person at a time. Infact, the devotees have to literally creep into the mandir to get a glimpse of Lord Ganesha. The Ganesh Tok at Sikkim is situated at the top of a hill close to the television tower of Sikkim. If you want to visit this mandir set in serene natural surroundings, then you have to reach it by the Gangtok-Nathula Road.
KHECHEOPALRI WISHING LAKE, PELLING, SIKKIM, INDIA
THIS LAKE NAME IS KHECHEOPALRI WISHING LAKE. IT IS NEAR PELLING CITY STATE SIKKIM IN INDIA. Khecheopalri Lake, originally known as Kha-Chot-Palri (meaning the heaven of Padmasambhava), is a lake located near Khecheopalri village, 147 kilometres (91 mi) west of Gangtok in the West Sikkim district of the Northeastern Indian state of Sikkim.
Located 34 kilometres (21 mi) to the northwest of Pelling town, the lake is sacred for both Buddhists and Hindus, and is believed to be a wish fulfilling lake. The local name for the lake is Sho Dzo Sho, which means Oh Lady, Sit Here. The popularly known name of the lake, considering its location is Khecheopalri Lake, ensconced in the midst of the Khechoedpaldri hill,
According to the belief of Buddhist, this lake is the secretion of goddess Tara, who is blessed by Guru Rempoche.
The lake is an integral part of the much revered valley of Demazong meaning valley of rice. This landscape is also known as a land of hidden treasures blessed by Guru Padmasambhava.
The Khecheopalri Lake is also part of Buddhist religious pilgrimage circuit involving the Yuksom, the Dubdi Monastery in Yuksom, Pemayangtse Monastery, the Rabdentse ruins, the Sanga Choeling Monastery, and the Tashiding Monastery. One interesting thing about the lake is that there were no leaves on the water, even though it is surrounded by forest. It is believed that birds do the arduous job of removing leaves from the lake.
The Khecheopalri Lake and the Khangchendzonga National Park are conserved from the biodiversity perspective with ecotourism and pilgrimage as essential offshoots.

Sikkim - one of the nicest little secrets of India!
Sikkim is one of the nicest little secrets of India! A tiny state adjacent to India's West Bengal state to the south, Nepal to the west and Bhutan to the south-east, Sikkim contains a lovely swathe of some of the finest Himalayan forests and is sparsely populated by simple and friendly people living as happy little isolated communities that stretch all the way into the Tibetan plateau beyond the high altitude lake of Gurudongmar -- one of the highest lakes in the world!
Gurudongmar itself is a tranquil aquamarine high altitude lake situated at over 17, 000 feet altitude in Sikkim, close to the active border between India's state of Sikkim and Chinese control across the border with Tibet a few kilometers further. While shepherds graze their sheep in the bucolic environs of the high altitude meadows of the Tibetan plateau here, border tensions tend to simmer between India and China every once in a while.
The drive from Chungthang to Gurudongmar is one of my favourites! That apart, it makes for perhaps the fastest altitude change that is possible while driving anywhere in the world. While everyone speaks of the highest motorable passes in the world which are situated at Khardung La and similar passes in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, this drive is truly something else! From a moderate altitude of 5600 feet at Chungthang, I usually start the drive at 6 in the morning. By 12 noon, we are at the 17, 200 foot in a narrow stretch of the Tibetan plateau that is very much in Sikkim, but one that stretches out north onto the plateau, allowing India to flavour the wonders of Tibet's plateaulands.
While one starts the drive to the south of the Himalaya, this remarkable six hour drive takes one right through the greater Himlaya, with high peaks of over 22, 000 feet altitude on both sides, and then suddenly, in one great upheaval of geography and landscape, one finds oneself to the north of the Himalaya, with the peaks far behind you. The landscape levels out around the eye, into a pleasing flatland with little streams running wild, Edelwiess and gentians profusely growing in all directions and the cold winds of Tibet cooling your sun-burnt face. The daytime heat can intense when you're in the open sun, and the night-time chill even more intense, as the winds pick up and the mountain breeze collides with the high-altitude desert air.
The peaks of Kanchenjhou and Chomiomo literally empty their glaciers out above the road, or so it seems! The Teesta flows alongside. Even more cataclysmic than the geographical changes are the rapid changes in the biota of the valley of the Teesta, as one ascends. Every few hundred meters of ascent leads to a change in the bird-life, plant-life and the animals around. The Rhododendron shrubs become smaller and smaller, from trees near Chungthang to large bushes above Lachen and down to tiny shrubs further up the valley.

Incredible India Travelogue | Sikkim Tour - Part 1| Siliguri SNT Bus Stand To Coronation Bridge
Siliguri SNT (Sikkim National Transport) Bus Stand - from here I've boarded a Bus of Sikkim Tourism and started my tour to Scenic Sikkim... It was a very beautiful journey ... from the outskirts of Siliguri Town, it was only the deep forest on both sides of the road and then the beautiful flowing river Teesta on the one side and Himalayan Mountain Range on the other side... And then we reach the magnificent Coronation Bridge over the River Teesta...
The road was smooth, but sometimes dangerously narrow...
