Guilin, Reed Flute Cave - China Travel Channel
The Reed Flute Cave, also known as Ludi Cave, is 6 km northwest of Guilin in the Mountain of Light. The cave was discovered in the Tang Dynasty (618-906) and received its name when children carved the reeds at the entrance to flutes. The Reed Flute Cave is 240 m deep and on the 500 m on the long path the visitors can admire colorfully lit rock formations, stalagmites and stalactites.
In the Chinese style, every stone has some interpretation; here for example we have the Statue of Liberty from New York. We are certain, however, that it was not around when the cave was created. The so-called Crystal Palace of the Dragon King is a grotto with space for 1000 people.
The very large, colorful lit stalactite cave, which still looks very natural, is one of the tourist attractions of Guilin in the Autonomous Region Guangxi, China.

With its location five kilometers northwest of the downtown of Guilin, the Reed Flute Cave is a brilliant cave marked on almost all travel itineraries. Inside this water-eroded cave is a spectacular world of various stalactites, stone pillars and rock formations created by carbonate deposition.

Ludi Yan u Kini (Reed Flute Cave)
Ludi Yan pećina (The Reed Flute Cave) je znamenitost i turistička atrakcija u Guilinu, provinciji Guangksi u Kini.

The provisional government people who had settled down for a while in Liuzhou were desperately needed to avoid the bombing of Japanese troops. There is a long mountain in the shape of a folding screen on the south side of the river flowing northward to Yuzhou City. There are 99 natural caves. This is an oyster that is used as a temporary shelter. It is a natural cave that was pierced by the peculiar mountains of the region. Provisional government people avoided this cave every time there was a bombing. The limestone caves created by the karst topography were only a few places to avoid bombing. Nowadays, there are not many tourists, but at that time, the surrounding caves are full of people who came to evacuate. As soon as I entered the cave, a Japanese plane was dropping a number of strokes. The cave seemed to collapse immediately and seem to collapse right now, and the ceiling is sinking like a small stone crumb that keeps dropping and waiting for the bombing to stop. Thanks to the cave, the people of the interim government could be safe even in the bombing of the Japanese military. There are many similar caves in the Guilin area. The most famous of these caves is our Noh Yongam Cave. As far as I know, it was used as a haven for residents of the area during the anti-Japanese war. It was a natural shelter. Noh Red Rock is a representative limestone cave of Guilin discovered 60 years ago. It would have been the largest natural reserve in the region if it had been a war, but it was discovered after the end of the war and it became a popular spot for many people to discover the mysteries of nature. Stalactites of color reflecting in water. For a long time, I thought of the temporary government people who would have been on the ship at the time. I wonder if they could afford to feel the mystery of this nature, fortunately, the record said yes.

The Region
Guangxi is an autonomous region in southern China bordering Vietnam, about the same size as the state of Minnesota. The area is known for its rivers, lakes, caves, and Karst formations. Cruises on the Li Jiang River connect Guilin and Yangshuo, two cities punctuated by toothlike Karst peaks. Guilin is the site of Ludi Yan (Reed Flute Cave), a limestone cavern noted for its stalagtites and stalagmites. It is one of the most famous “Karst Topography” in China and much like the province of Quintana Roo, Mexico, it is like swiss cheese and has a ton of caves. The local people say it's like you have a lot of sunroofs in your house.
