RIBBON LAKE in KANANASKIS
Skip Intro: 0:35
Ribbon Lake was a place I had been recommended to check out so it was only a matter of time till it happened. Along with my friends Rejean and Kyle, we made the most out of the day and did the 24km hike out to not only Ribbon Falls, but pass the chains on to Ribbon Lake as well.
The aim for these videos is to not only help others find inspiration, but to showcase some of the beautiful hiking trails that the Canadian Rocky Mountains have to offer.

Ribbon Falls in Kananaskis Country west of Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Ribbon Falls is a popular oasis dramatically accessed along Ribbon Creek wedged between Mount Kidd and Mount Bogart soaring above on either side. Plenty of rushing white water in early season. Access to Ribbon Lake above.

The Hike was amazing and the views were incredible, especially with the birds eye view with the mavic pro!
Hike was just outside of Canmore, Alberta and was about 7 to 8 hours top to bottom! Had some easy trails and also a few insane spots where you were hanging off a cliff with a chain!

Kananaskis Adventures: Hiking To Ribbon Lake
Hiking to Ribbon Lake is a moderately difficult trek in the backcountry of Kananaskis. Although the hike can be done as a day hike, Ribbon Lake has is a beautiful campsite to overnight at. The hike follows Ribbon Creek Trail to Ribbon Falls. Many hikers make the falls their turnaround point, but the final 2km up to Ribbon Lake is the most exciting part of this hike. Chains tacked into the mountain side assist your daring assent up to the lake.

Ribbon Creek Winter Hike, Kananaskis Alberta
January 11/2019
Today I am in Kananaskis Country and I am hiking the Ribbon Creek Trail. This trail follows Ribbon Creek up the valley between Mount Kidd and Mount Bogart. I wanted to get to Ribbon Falls, but after hiking 8 kilometers one way I had to turn around as it was getting late in the day. In total I hiked 16 kilometers with an elevation gain of 580 meters. It was a beautiful hike up the valley. I was the only one on the trail today. This hike will be on my list of hikes to do this summer.
This is my 23rd video. Thank you very much for watching. If you enjoyed this video please give it a thumbs up. If you would like to see my other videos, Subscribe to my channel. New videos weekly. CHEERS

A ton of snow from the upper lakes made it impossible to even consider an attempt. Although the morning following an unplanned bivouac I managed to traverse the slopes above the third Memorial Lake, using crampons and ice ax during the early morning hours, but I would not want to return during afternoon when this over a meter deep mush would be needed to be walked on. With my initial trip planned for South Kidd which was closed due to area rehabilitation, I headed for Ribbon Peak instead with no beta whatsoever.
It's an amazing adventure, with creek crossings, even slopes that had land slides, breaking trail in snow covered areas, bushwhacking, a lot of trail finding.

Canmore Adventures: Hiking Grotto Canyon
Grotto Canyon is a relatively simple trail walk with interesting features that make it a very worthwhile excursion. Walking between the narrow walls of the canyon provides an eerie experience and at the end of the canyon there is a small waterfall and cave to explore. You can also find ancient pictographs painted on the canyon walls if you know where to look!

Ever get your butt kicked by a dude in pink? | Mountain Biking West Bragg Creek in Alberta, Canada
My trip to Canada came to a close on a pretty fun little trail system near Calgary called West Bragg Creek. Laura from Alberta 66 (link below) joined Aric and I for a really cool ride. I need to get in better shape! This video felt a lot like my early “lone wolf” videos where I had a lot of time to talk to myself.

HIKING in the CANADIAN ROCKIES: GROTTO MOUNTAIN
SKIP INTRO: 0:35
Grotto Mountain stands tall at 2,706m over the town of Canmore, Alberta. The fourth main mountain peak in the Canmore Quad. Certainly a steeper hike than the three main peaks in the Canmore Triple Crown but with multiple different routes to the summit, it can be tackled different ways.
Easily accessible from town and no need for a vehicle make it a worthwhile day hike. Views over the Bow Valley are spectacular to say the least.
I've created this video with the intent to aid others with knowledge of the hike from Cougar Creek up to the summit.
