Whitewater Rafting - Ottawa River, Ontario, Canada
We went Whitewater River Rafting down the Ottawa River in Forester Falls, Ontario with RiverRun Rafting. They took some video footage of us on the rapids that we edited down to show the two of us. We flipped over quite a few times into the water and had some extreme adventures!

Pembina river tubing experience
Pembina river tubing is one of the many activities that Entwistle, Alberta, offers during summer. Its about one-hour drive from west of Edmonton, Alberta. Where you will experience an amazing water activity. The water wasn’t as cold as we expected. Few small rapids encounter and rocks protruding from various places will surprise you and can add an excitement while travelling to a three-hour journey to the river so you need to be extra cautious. You can also bring your own life jackets and inflatable raft. Note that it will be advisable that you use a water proof camera or store your cameras or phones in a sealable plastic bag like we did.
Enjoy watching!

Family Remembers Campbell River Woman
CAMPBELL RIVER - The family of a Campbell River woman killed in a crash near Little Qualicum Falls on Monday says she died the way she lived. Helping a friend.
34-year-old Rikki Easton was returning home Monday after driving a friend to Port Alberni when an out of control pickup truck crossed the centre line and slammed into her Chevy Cavalier.
Police are still investigating exactly what happened and why, but for Easton's family, no answer will ever be good enough.

The title of this documentary could be TOMORROW'S WAR, TODAY. We have five destinations in Greece: Thessaloniki, Apopigadi, Eastern Chalkidiki, Asopos river and Volos. The war on water is not a future probability, but it's a reality familiar to some of our fellow citizens for many years now.
• Volos: 20 years of struggle against the appropriation of natural springs on Mount Pelion in order to be used for Volos' industrial area needs. People are now opposing the decision of Volos' Municipal Company of Water and Sewage to get Pelion's fresh water chlorinated, while it is distributed to the city through asbestos cement water pipes.
• Asopos: Industrial activities have contaminated Asopos river and the aquifier with hexavalent chromium, which is responsible for the high level of deaths caused by cancer in the agricultural area of Asopos basin. Epidemiological evidence show an increase of cancer deaths from 6% in 1988 to 36% in 2004.
• Thessaloniki: The ongoing privatization of Thessaloniki Water and Sewage Company -- the role of water multinational Suez and local contractor Aktor. The goverment is now trying to block a referendum on the privatization, promoted by both grassroot movements and the area's municipalities.
• Apopigadi: The wind farm on top of Apopigadi mountain in Crete is not an environment-friendly investment, but a threat to local water resources and wild animals which was imposed to local people with violent police action. The investor in this case is the well-known French multinational EDF.
• Skouries: The Chalkidiki goldmines that now belong to a Canadian multinational company are responsible for the contamination of local water resources and reserves. Local people opposing the investment are now prosecuted for terrorism.
Ken's Summer School 2012 part 14/50
Eleven students who are part of the 2012 summer program at Ken's Excellence located at 7914 Bay Parkway in Brooklyn, NY, had the opportunity to go on another camping trip. This time, they had the opportunity to visit the Indian Head Campgrounds in Barryville, NY from July 31 until August 3. After packing the van, it took the students approximately 4 hours to get to Barryville from NYC.
In this video, the girls leave their cabin to go on their water rafting adventure on the Delaware River. Karina was the leader of her raft (Addy, Carmen Kelly) while Diane was in charge of her raft (Jessica and Emily). It was their first time water rafting so they were extremely nervous. They were also required to wear life jackets before entering the raft. The trip was a total of 3 miles. It takes 1.5/2 hours for people who are experienced to complete. In this case, the girls took approximately 5 hours to complete the journey. Although the trip was extremely tiring, the girls gained much experience and exercise.
Ken's Excellence will be hosting a much anticipated competition next summer from July 8-17 in the year 2013 for students from 5th-12th grade in double canoeing (total of 6 canoes with 12 students), double kayaking (total of 6 kayaks with 12 students), rafting (total of 6 rafts with 24 students), and tubing (total of 12 tubes with 12 students). This competition will take place for 10 days and will require a lot of dedication, hard work, and teamwork. Cash prizes will be awarded to each team. First place will receive $500. Second place will receive $300. Third place will receive $100. The tuition for this summer program is offered at an affordable price of $800.
More Information about Ken's Summer Camp programs:

This 300+ acre property is used as the park it should be by locals- fantastic quiet river channel and crystal clear pools make it an ideal and safe place to swim. The Nanaimo River starts it's journey to the sea (it joins the ocean at Living Forest!) by going through four lakes, which makes it the warmest river on Vancouver Island.
The property is still under timber lease to a logging company who has logged much of it in the past, but it sits dormant at the moment. What a great opportunity to buy out the timber lease and obtain protected forever park status!
Please share, and even better, visit this special place! Park it in Nanaimo!
