Rurrenabaque: Adventure into the Bolivian Amazon
Follow my drone and I on an adventure into the Amazon rainforest of Bolivia! Rurrenabaque is a popular tourist destination in Bolivia to discover the rainforest and pampas of Northern Bolivia. This video takes you through the 3 day Pampas tour on Yacuma river in the National Park Madidi. After 3 hours by car from Rurrenabaque, we reached the river Yacuma where we took a boat deeper into the Amazon. We traveled in traditional wooden boats along the narrow river surrounded by lush vegetation and rich wildlife. We had several encounters with caimans, turtles, monkeys, sloths and we saw a wide variety of birds. We went chasing anacondas in the swamps, fishing for piranhas and we always kept an eye out for the pink dolphins. It is an incredible experience to see all these animals in their natural habitat.

Rurrenabaque is a small town in the North of Bolivia on the Beni River. It is the capital of Rurrenabaque Municipality. In recent years it has become popular with international tourism as it is an easy gateway for visits to Madidi National Park (within the Bolivian rainforest), as well as the surrounding pampas. Locals commonly refer to the town by its shortened nickname, Rurre.
Rurrenabaque is located in José Ballivián Province in Beni Department, Bolivia. Rurrenabaque Municipality, the fourth (municipal section) of José Ballivián Province, had 19,195 inhabitants, of which 13,446 lived in urban Rurrenabaque itself in 2012. In 2018 Rurrenabaque is said to have around 20,000 inhabitants.

Hoy vamos a conocer la Reserva Nacional de Pampas del Río Yacuma, en Beni – Bolivia; una de las reservas con mayor biodiversidad del planeta, inició con 15, 000 hectáreas, y en los últimos años se amplió a 416,453 hectáreas, convirtiéndose en el área municipal protegida más grande de Bolivia, y quizás del mundo entero.
Espero que el vídeo les guste y sobre todo les sea de gran ayuda; por si se animan a hacer el tour, el precio establecido es de 1200 Bs en todas la agencias; aunque si se juntan en un grupo de amigos, pueden preguntar en distintas agencias de turismo y conseguir un buen precio; yo lo hice con la agencia Fluvial tours, no tiene página, pero los pueden encontrar en su Oficina en Rurrenabaque, en verdad me encantó todo lo que hicimos, la comida estuvo muy buena, y el guía excelente, se los recomiendo un montón.

Bolivia - Amazonian jungle, Rurrenabaque and Pampas
Trip to Amazonian jungle and Pampas of Bolivia in July 2010. We started from Santiago Chile and flew to La Paz and then to Rurrenabaque in the Amazonian forest. Took a boat trip up the Beni river to stay in an ecolodge and then road trip to the Pampas.

Rurrenabaque is Bolivia’s most popular gateway into the Amazon rainforest and is one of the best places in South America for tourists to access the rainforest. Tours range from Pampas to jungle tours, with Pampas tours offering the most opportunities to observe wildlife.
This video is a compilation of our 3 days in the Amazon pampas based at Mashaquipe Eco Lodge. We were blown away by the amount of animals we saw in this short period of time in a truly unforgettable experience!
