Sakkie, Colette, Izet and Dirk Willem van Rooyen went on holiday to San Lameer in April 2011.while they were there the visited the Crocodile farm at Southbroom. with them is Jan Masenamela who later that week had to run in an athelticks event

Why the South Coast?
The beautiful ocean-side of the Southern Coast of South Africa has long since been celebrated for its laid-back vibe, sandy beaches and warm Indian ocean waters.
From it’s abundant bird life such as African Crowned Eagle, African Fish-Eagle, and Martial Eagle Green Twinspot, Grey Waxbill, Grey Sunbird, Yellow-bellied Greenbul, Orange-breasted Bush-shrike, Golden-tailed Woodpecker, Olive Woodpecker, Grey Cuckoo-shrike to name but a few.
Great fishing with species such as Kingfish, Garrick, Yellowtail, Prodigal Son, Kob, Musselcracker, shad, Pompano, Springer
Bushbuck, serval, baboon, samango monkeys, blue and grey duiker and common reedbuck roam the area and are common in the local reserves.
The area has tropical forests and some protected trees like the Milkwood.
If you are into more than just lazing on the beach then some local tourist attractions include:
Lake Eland Game Reserve,Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve, Mpenjati Nature Reserve,Umtamvuna Nature Reserve,Riverbend Crocodile Farm, The Red Desert (smallest desert in the world), The Pont – fishing, boating and camping.
