Margate South Africa
Margate, South Africa, is a beach holiday town on the KZN South Coast with its own Margate Airport. Ideal for families who are looking for seasonal beach entertainment, a mile-long golden beach with palm trees, including a Blue Flag beach, lots to see and do for an active holiday. Margate hosts the annual South Coast Bike Fest, a biker and music festival, in April. Margate was also voted finalist in South Africa's Town of the Year 2017.

What's surfing like in South Africa?
In this episode of my real travel vlog I have a surf lesson with Rosta from Mantis & Moon Backpackers in Umzumbe, South Africa.

If you've ever wondered what surfing is like in South Africa, this is a great place to start and improve your skills.
It was the perfect day to head out with Roosta. At Umzumbe beach they have smaller waves at the shore and then big guys out back, great to learn on.
Roosta gave me a classic, sleeveless wetsuit and told me his secrets to surfing so I was ready to try my luck. I've never been that good at surfing so it was a bonus to stand up for me!
We had an awesome day, Roosta was the perfect teacher and made sure I didn't get wiped out... Too much!
I really enjoyed my stay at Mantis & Moon, you should definitely visit them, it's one of the best backpackers I've ever been to!

I’m riding for a charity called Orphan Opportunities and will visit orphanages where I can throughout my route. I met the man who started the charity in Mozambique and fell in love with the passion of his own mission. It makes complete sense to me: while there are many misfortunate people in Africa who could do with some assistance, they’re often not doing much to help their own situation, relying instead on the goodwill of others, whereas children without parents have been dealt a bad hand and can’t help themselves. I’ve always said, the youth are not 100% of the population, but they are 100% of the future. If we want to help the future of Africa and the world, we need to properly raise the youth.
