Exploring Yorktown Battlefield (Yorktown, VA)
A fledgling army took on the most powerful military in the world at the time, but that army found victory here. The allied French and American forces, led by General George Washington, met the British army under the command of Lord Charles Cornwallis on these grounds in October, 1781.
What a beautiful history Yorktown (and the Historic Triangle as a whole) has to tell about Virginia's part in the foundations of the United States of America. I wish I could convey that history better. This is a highly recommend park for the history buff visit if you're in the area. The Yorktown Beach and Riverwalk are not to be missed either.

✩OUR STORY: Backroads of Montana. Watch Video here:
I'm originally from Fier, Albania. I grew up in Roskovec until I finished the 8th grade and then immigrated to Italy on my own to look for work opportunities. I ended up being taken in by a school for boys without families, Fondazione il Faro, in Rome. There, they tried to integrate us into the community by teaching us the Italian language as well as giving us technical skills like making pizza, cutting hair, carpentry and computer programming. After a year at the school, I found my first job as a waiter in a vegetarian restaurant. The work was challenging and I loved it. I waited tables for the next six years, working at renowned Roman restaurants learning a great deal about Italian food and wine in the process.
In 2004, I met my wife, Kaleigh, a Montana native, who was a student traveling and studying in Rome...

Traveling by Trolley: Yorktown
Part 2 of or day in Yorktown. We took a Trolley tour that took us to the American Revolution Museum. It was incredible, including a Sights & Sounds Theater production. Wow! We had just enough time to take the last trolley back to the truck and begin our short trip to Norfolk. We were able to find an affordable place for the night so we could explore VA Beach and Chesapeake the next day!
