France's help is considered a vital and decisive contribution to the United States' victory against the British. As a cost of participation in the war, France accumulated over 1 billion livres in debt.

Colonial Parkway is a 23-mile scenic parkway linking the three points of Virginia's Historic Triangle, Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown. It is part of the National Park Service's Colonial National Historical Park. Virginia's official state designation for the parkway is State Route 90003. With portions built between 1930 and 1957, it links the three communities via a roadway shielded from views of commercial development. The roadway is toll-free, is free of semi trucks, and has speed limits of around 35 to 45 mph . One of the very best family vacations on the east coast is Virginia Beach, VA! The beach is fantastic and there are plenty of activities. Live bands play each night, restaurants are superb and abundant, shopping is very good, The sand is great, the water warm and it is common to have some of the top surfing waves in the mid-Atlantic. Other activities which make this my favorite for family vacations on the east coast is the activities off the beach. There is the Ocean Breeze water park 1 mile south, a marine science center and aquarium which added zip lines, 45 minutes north is Williamsburg and Yorktown where colonial history can be relived by your family. You can walk exactly the same woods where Pochontas resided. Busch Gardens has a fabulous theme park in Williamsburg with roller coasters and awesome rides.
